Great tester
Easy to use. Better than using just a load tester. Bought for testing auto and motorcycle battery CCA and CA to determine whether they still have some life in them or time to replace. Also using to test new auto and UPS batteries to get baseline readings for monitoring battery health as the batteries age. Only drawback is 12V only so unable to test individual 6V batteries like golf cart batteries (can series 2x6V to test) but not a dealbreaker.

great tool to check battery life
Awesome tool to monitor battery health. currently using it to gauge if my car batteries are coming up for replacement by using State of Health and CCA ratings returned by the tester. from the online reviews I've seen, the tester is pretty accurate. time will tell as my car batteries age as this tester can give me an idea when they are close to replacement

Great little battery tester!
We now use this to do a quick check on each vehicle battery at every 5k oil change/service. Here in Phoenix with the extreme heat, the wisdom is you never really buy and own a car battery, you're just renting it until it fails. Usually catastrophically and without warning. I was looking for a way to help predict those failures and this little gem is the perfect tool to help you to do that. It will display each battery's resting voltage immediately when connected. You simply chose the rating of your battery (usually CCA in the US of A) set the meter to match and then it quickly tests the battery with software black magic. No potentially destructive testing like older carbon pile units. With a push of the up (or down) arrow key, it will also give you more batter health information like SOH (state of health) and SOC (state of charge) It also can check your starting voltage and test your charging system. The manual is rudimentary at best but there are videos out there in tubeland. If you can connect the red clamp to positive and the black clamp to negative, it isn't a difficult tool to use.
