Do cable matters cat6a shielded - plugs - (not jacks) require this tool for crimping as well?

This is for keystone jacks only. If you are installing plug ends, you would need an RJ45 type crimping tool.

Will this terminate hubbel hj cat 6a keystone jacks?

I do not believe so. As far as I can tell, the hubbel hj6a don't have a metal case covering the back end. This tool is specifically built for the cable matters 6a shielded metal keystone jacks.

Do i need this for cable matters rj45 shielded cat6a keystone jack w\ integrated shutter? the description on the product says tool free.

You don’t necessarily need it just makes it easier

perhaps because it's made of plastic, it struggles with thicker fully shielded twisted pair cat6a and doesn't crimp, causing people to think it's m..?

This isn't a cable crimper, this just assists in closing the metal connector for keystones.
