Which side should the green compound be loaded on?

It is pretty difficult to load up compound on a smooth strop. You end up getting a very uneven application. The smooth side is pretty much what you want to get a polish so you don’t really need it. You would just be adding to the abrasiveness. And for that you already have the rough side.

Out of the box new, the rough side of the leather is white looking, is that compound already applied to the leather?

whether it's the rough side or the suede side of the knife strop,there is no pre-applied polishing wax，You can apply the leather strop selectively according to your own habits

Why didn't i get the buffing compound i paid for? I basically oaid $16 for a $6 strop

How long is the leather stropping patch? I see it's 2 sided, - both rough, or one smooth, one rough side out?
