A great ATV box
Being new to the ATV world my husband bought a storage box that was nylon and did not like it ($200). Being on dusty trails it make it hard to use the zippers and was always dirty even after washing. I bought this Plano storage box after seeing it on Amazon at a good price. My husband saw this box and had to have one also so we bought 2. We love them, my gear stays dry and plenty of room to keep rain gear, jackets and helmet. We added small key locks on the side so it's more secure while transporting. Our son saw this on my bike and wanted one also, so we bought 1 more for a gift. I get asked all of the time where I bought this box and if I liked it, and the answer is YES.

Best price out there for a great quad box
Best price out there for a great quad box. I installed it on my Kawasaki Brute Force 750. I added the clamps that came with it to attach it to my rear rack. Rock solid with zero movement. You can just use the provided rack straps if you're not looking for a more permanent connection to your quad. A huge amount of room inside. I also really like the ability to lock it closed. There's a spot on each end of the box to put locks on it. The box is heavy duty and will last a very long time. I've put on a few hundred miles with it on with zero issues or concerns.

Honest review of Plano 1510-01 ATV Top Box
Plano 1510-01 Rear Mount ATV Storage Box I wanted to write an honest and straight forward review of the Plano 1510 ATV Top Box Let me begin by saying that for the price it is value for money at $75 and to compare this with a $200 ATV Top Box would be unfair so, I will outline my observations and experiences on the product as it is. The top box arrives in a simple large cardboard box which not only contains the top box and fittings but a large amount of loose plastic particles which really shouldn’t be there. The top box is molded in black flexible plastic and is certainly tough enough for the task and is molded in two parts, the Base box and the lid. The kit of parts was also pretty complete except that six of the Carriage bolts were too short and some of the fittings should be improved. See my notes. On closer inspection, the flange that had been cut away inside the lower box was poorly and badly cut and has had to be subsequently reworked by me which is disappointing. There were also several shallow knife cuts on the outside of both the lid and the base box which spoiled the overall finish. Not serious but shows poor workmanship on behalf of the person who cut away the excess plastic from the moldings. Also several of the holes intended to mount bungee cords etc. had not even been drilled and I had to drill these myself. To say that there is “some assembly required” would be an understatement as not only did I have to assemble the hinges etc. but some of the hinge mounting holes had to be slotted as the holes had been inaccurately placed. Not a big deal but this should not be necessary as the holes were accurate for two of the three hinges. On the subject of the hinges, there is a steel rod which passes through all three hinges and is held in place with a retaining pin at each end. However, once fitted, these pins bind on the lid and the base box which results in the lid not opening fully and deformation to both the lid and base. I replaced the long rod with three Bolts and Nuts which not only solved this problem but drastically improved the Security of the box as by using the long rod all that would be required to gain access to the contents of the box would be to remove the split pin and withdraw the long rod. It would be better if the hinges came as three assembled hinges that you simply had to bolt into the Base Box and lid. It is a strange arrangement that the Manufactures chose. On the subject of Security you receive two steel plates which fit to the sides of the top box. Though the plates are made of steel there is a projecting plastic triangular molding on the lid with a hole in it through which you attach a padlock. I opted to use two steel hasps on the front of the box which is a more secure arrangement but does require the purchase of additional parts to improve security. I also had to purchase six longerCarriage bolts to replace the bolts which attach the top part of the hinges to the lid as the bolts supplied were too short to pass through the hinge plate, the plastic molding and the reinforcing steel plate Again this is not a big deal but the bolts supplied should be fit for their purpose. The Washers supplied for the lower part of the hinges should be of a larger diameter to distribute the load applied to the surrounding plastic as this is where localized stresses to the plastic occurs. I have made three 1/8 steel plates which go on the inside of the lower box to overcome this issue and it would be certainly an improvement to the product if Plano supplied these with the kit. I would also suggest that you use large “Penny” washers if you choose to bolt the Top Box to your ATV Rack again to spread the loading on the Plastic Base. IN CONCLUSION Is this ATV Top Box value for money? For the asking price of $75 I believe it is. Does it go together easily? No, it is not straightforward but can be achieved with some effort and additional tools. Basic build time is about an hour just for assembly and does not include fitting to your ATV. To achieve the end result that I sought to achieve takes about three hours and additional parts. I still have not worked out how the two strange Bungee cords devices are meant to work! Would I buy it again? Yes, as it is value for money compared to paying $200 or more for a comparable ATV Top Box. Could the basic product be improved? Absolutely, and probably at little to no increase in cost to the price of the finished product. Rating: Overall Quality – 8 Quality of Finish - 8 Ease of Assembly – 7 Value for Money - 8

Exactly what it claim's it is.
I give this box 5 stars! First off, we know this is an 'inexpensive' alternate. That said, mine arrived super quick, and a little "squished". I spent 5 minutes with a heat gun and had it perfect. I read the other reviews so I knew about the hinge pin and just didn't tighten the bolts till it was in. As they also said: the latches stink.. harbor freight for some ball cord wraps ($2), for the heck of it I got heavier Lashing straps ($5) to hold it down perfectly to my Polaris Sportsman. Waited till I got to use it on a run to review it, and I love it. Lots of room, everything stayed free of mud, and right where I wanted it . Would recommend this all day long, just be aware you're not buying an expensive box.

Overall Good ATV box
I was worried about the mixed reviews but I can tell you I love this box. It is thick enough to handle the constant bouncing trails I ride on. The seal that came with it was worthless. It is a peel and stick foam rubber seal and the one I received wasn't sticky therefore unusable. No matter I don't believe that would hold up long to trail use. I love the fact that the Plano ammo boxes fit perfectly in the side areas so you can keep stuff dry if you temporarily swamp your bike like is prone to happen where I'm from in FL. If that's the case for you, drill drain holes in the bottom ahead of time. As for fitment, I own a 2015 Honda Rubicon and it fits great. The box also has multiple attachment points on the sides and front for bungees to carry extra gear on the lid of the box. Overall, definitely worth the $75 while its at this price.

Plano dont fit a 2 up Cforce 800XC
Got this to go on my 2019 Cfmoto Cforce 800XC. The trunk itself appeared very sturdy and I'm sure installing it would have been easy.... if it fit. I saw another reviewer had put it on his Can Am Outlander 2 up, so I thought perhaps it would fit on my 2 up machine too! Nope. I even tried it on my sons Cforce 600, which is also a 2 up machine and in retrospect probably closer resembles the type of Outlander I saw it on. It would have fit had I taken the rear seat hand grips off. Unfortunately I had to return this box, which Amazon promptly refunded me for. So far the only rear boxes that will fit the 800XC are from a company in Russia that wants $300, and a Company out of Canada called WES Industries, who wants over $400 for their box. So until I can pony up that cash, I'm going to try a rear bag and see how that goes! I have no doubt that the this will fit all single seat machines with a rear rack.

I expected better but not bad i guess
I was looking for something sturdy that would keep the dust out. I live and ride my ATV in the PHX desert and there is nothing more annoying than putting your gear in a case and opening it to find everything covered in dust/dirt. So, i purchased this assuming it would seal good and keep everything out. While it does protect from most dust/dirt, it does not protect from all. Let's start in the beginning. I got the unit and pulled it out of the box and noticed the back was a little warped. It was probably because this was sitting in some warehouse somewhere then on a hot truck with other boxes on it. Either way, it was warped. I decided to not return it because i was going riding the next day and really needed it. So i started putting it together and due to things being warped, they just didnt want to go together. It seriously took 3 adults to push/pull/bend the unit to get the rod through the back part to attach the lid. Once all of that was done, i went to mount it to the ATV. I guess this was pretty straight forward but it was still a pain. After spending 45 minutes getting the lid on, i spent another 15-20 just trying to get the U Bolts to line up and tighten. Then i applied the weather stripping and i was happy. Once it was on, it looked good, i called it a night and went out the next day. First thing i noticed is, it's not that sturdy. The box was flexing as i was riding. i didn't have it loaded down, just some water bottles and other necessities. So after about an hour of riding trails through the desert i stopped to get a drink. I opened the case and couldn't believe it, there was dust in there. All over the water bottles. Im not sure why, everything looked tight. So i took it home and have not looked at it since. I guess if your looking for a cheap hard case to ride in the mountains and not dusty places you will be ok. Its not that bad for the price but its definitely not high end and definitely not dust proof.

great value!!
This was an extremely economical and useful purchase. Bought it to go on the back of my Polaris Sportsman 500 ATV. It works well. I placed it on some rubber matting on the rear cargo shelf. The ties line up really well with slots in the side of the Polaris rack. I did end up putting a rope on it as well, to keep it from sliding forward and pushing me in the back on braking or steep downhills (I had a gas can in the passenger hollow of the box - see photo). Went 500 miles loaded up, through all kinds of trails and brush. The box took a beating, but no damage, and cleaned up well when I got home. Highly recommend this.

Great Box!
Other than being shirt one screw (annoying), this is a great box, highly recommend. You don't need the U bolts, it gives you the option to just strap the box on to your ATV and it fits nicely and can be removed any time. Stuff inside the box stays dry due to the weather stripping channel. And I personally prefer the bungie chord closing straps because you can adjust them so that you can carry stuff in your box that may be a bit too high, so it secures it with the lid partially open. Excellent box!!!

Buen producto
