Review: Great Reference Book - This book was a great reference tool and also awesome to read as the test time nears. It was about 205 pages not hard to get through and straight to the point. Yes, it is out of date but knew that before buying it. I do wish they would make a 4th edition. Having said that I did pass the CISSP and this book was a nice tool that contributed to that success. I also used the official study guide and the official practice questions book. Good luck to you! Review: Phenomenal overview that is very well written and easy to read. - Read Eric Conrad's CISSP Study Guide as well before reading this one. I read this the weekend before my exam and it served as a fantastic refresher while providing a great overview of all the domains. The book is also well, written, easy to read, and not nearly as dry as alot of other certification books on the market. By using both of Eric's book, watching somevideos and taking practice questions I just earned my CISSP.

Quick guide to jog memory
This is a concise version of all the domains for CISSP exam, important topics are presented in slightly longer than bullets. Written as short and sweet, this book will save you from last minute fatigue and nervousness about the exam. I downloaded the kindle edition just few days back, wish I did that at least few weeks earlier to get most juice out of it. Along with other books on CISSP, including the two from Cybex and Conrad's original boox, helped me to pass the exam in one go under the recently introduced CAT format. The new format is a black box, it will not give you pass/fail scores, nor anyone will tell you how the questions are picked dynamically depending on your response to the previous questions. Although this guide does not cover everything that you would see in the exam, nor the depth of understanding that some topics entail, it can certainly be a companion book when you feel overwhelmed.

Passed the CISSP. Great, concise material but maybe not the best as a single reference
Very easy to read and introduces content that is not found in other books. There are a few details in the book that are not to date and need to be updated like COBIT for instance. The authors should have made sure that these topics were properly updated for this revision. Personally, I would use this study guide as a secondary reference because the actual CISSP test focuses more on critical thinking rather than pure technical questions and, in my opinion, I find this book is more technical but still very useful. I'm very satisfied with purchasing this book and using it to study for the CISSP.

Passed Exam on October 7th
Another awesome book by Eric Conrad! Like the first reviewer, I'd also argue that this book by itself is not enough. Do not use this book to try to prep for the Practice Tests book tests. This book is not detailed enough for the detail required to answer the domain chapter tests. This book, however, is still useful as a review/memory booster. When I did my last minute review questions before the exam, I had this book and Conrad's CISSP Study Guide 3rd edition within reach. Most chapters are short enough to read more than once. The only thing I would add to this book would be a full length practice test.

That book is like drinking from a fire hose and honestly if all ...
So everyone speaks the truth about this book. First, I read the Shon Harris book cover to cover all 1200 pages. That book is like drinking from a fire hose and honestly if all the conversational embellishments were taken out, that book would easily shrink to 800 pages. Anyway, if this is your first foray into CISSP read the Shon Harris book or equivalent because there are fundamentals you'll need to know. Now, after you've that book, done the test prep and think you're confident, read this book, take notes in a notebook like it's High School all over again, and summarize what you're reading in this book. This book was outrageous and boiled everything down to the necessity. With a content up for some of the newer CISSP info it could balloon to 300 pages and still remain as accurate and relevant as ever just while covering more bases. Lastly, once you are done reading and writing notes on this book. Pick up the ISC2 test prep question book. Do the questions! What I found primarily was that I needed to slow down, read the question further, and look for the BEST answer. On this exam our own experience in the real world work against us because in some cases we actually do know better. Those were my 3 steps to success, 1) Read the Shon Harris Book. 2) Read this one, write notes and absorb every single word because this book is pure gold. 3) Use the exam prep books like the ISC2 one. Huge piece of advice: It is NOT enough to know why "B" is the correct answer. You need to know why, "A, C,and D" are wrong. Once you start going through the answers in that manner you figure out the thought patterns of these test makers and you know enough now to beat them at their own game.

Great for reviewing before the test - but you'll need to study using other materials first.
You will need to use other material to study for the test but this is a great tool to use afterwards to review. Great to use to review the material for the 8 current domains. I took notes directly in the book on those topics I typically missed in the various practice tests I took. Eric also teaches part of the SANS online course which, while pricey, I also recommend. His style is great and he adds a lot of background to topics as well.

Very concise and brief
Touches every domain and can give complete overview of what CISSP all about but won’t be enough to cover exam domains in detail. Page quality is good and I like reading it.
