Comfortable, affordable, true to size
I bought these for a funeral when I realized I didn’t have any plain black shoes and wanted something quick and inexpensive. These were a great price and true to size (I wear a men’s size 8) Pretty comfortable too. I haven’t worn them a ton but they got the job done and I think I could pretty comfortably wear them more often if I wanted to. The bottoms don’t really have any particularly great tread though so I wouldn’t recommend these for walking on ice or while hiking or anything. But for your average every day needs, they’re a great plain black sneaker.

Lugz comes in wide sizes!
They looked too big coming out of the box. They included an extra pair of shoestrings! The shoes are plain and simple, comparable to other brands offering the same type of footwear, but for about half the cost. They still look better than anything else offered, and that's why I bought them! I put them on and was prepared for the usual break-in, but they were comfortable walking and running shoes from the start, and the act of walking gave each shoe the correct shape that diminished the "bigness." The extra width of these shoes isn't an issue, no looseness but just a better fit. -But the long-term nature of shoes is how they take the daily wearings and "keep on keeping-on," so I couldn't write about that for a few months- past the scope of this review.

Good non slip traction.
Nice stylish shoe with non slip sole fits as described will need to break in. The insole can not be easily removed to swap out with an upgraded one the quality seems ok time will tell how long they will last.

Comfy and light.
Light and comfortable and fits me just fine. I can't really comment about their longevity because I'm a dude in a wheelchair and can't really walk. But they look good and meet my needs.

First pair of sneakers I've liked in decades. Literally.
I rarely even attempt a pair of sneakers - styles are usually just ridiculous looking and they always dig into my Achilles tendon. Not these though. These are the first pair of plain ol' canvas sneaks I've had since I was a kid, back when Keds were the only sneaks in town. The padded removable insole is comfy and a nice added touch, so I don't have to buy Dr Scholl's like I usually do. They're very light and look great. Biggest attraction for me was that they come in wide sizes. I can't just slip em on like my boat shoes but that's ok - if you can slip em on they can slip off, and I needed something that stays on better when I'm riding my motorcycle. No substitute for riding boots but I just can't wear those cuz for me they cause more problems than they solve... * Slight revision, two years and two months after I got these: those comfy removable insoles do not last very long. The fabric covering the top of them doesn't stay attached over time, particularly at the heel. The glue they use for that doesn't stand up to sweat + activity very well I guess, so, yeah. Had to buy those "aftermarket" insoles anyway a year after I got em. I certainly don't consider this a deal breaker, though - every other pair of shoes I ever bought in my life, I had to get insoles for them. Bottom line 2+ years later: I *still* love these sneaks, and they've held up quite well. I don't even wear those "boat shoes" anymore. House mocs at home, these everywhere else. 👍🏼

Good for skateboarding
Soles really hard. Kind of difficult to walk in. Color on point. Size is well. Toe box not really wide but comfortable for skinny wide feet. Not sure if it's waterproof. They are nice tho can wear with skinny jeans or straight leg

A Unreliable Work Companion with Style and Concerns for Durability
The Lugz Men's Lear Lace Up Sneakers have officially solidified their place as a dispensable part of my work wardrobe. Initially I loved these shoes, as they seamlessly combined comfort with a timeless all-black aesthetic. Serving as the Assistant Manager at the local movie theatre, these sneakers went beyond being a mere choice—they're a requirement for my role to have an all black uniform, proving their worth, especially in providing comfort during extended work hours. I’ll give credit, where I can by saying that the fit is exceptional, offering the necessary support my feet crave throughout the day. The lace-up design ensures a personalized fit, a crucial feature given the extended periods I spend on my feet. Notably, the spacious front of the shoe allows for toe flexibility, a feature that gained significance after a recent foot injury. The padded collar and insole contribute significantly to the overall comfort, making them a trustworthy choice for a work shoe. However, with extended use, signs of wear and tear became apparent. The interior lining started displaying wear, and over time, multiple holes emerged, particularly on the bottom of the shoe. Allowing my sock to be exposed to the bare ground, and creating holes and some highly uncomfortable situations. These breakdowns in durability are shown in the photos above. While I highly value the comfort these sneakers provide, there's plenty of room for improvement in terms of durability, especially for individuals like me who rely on them as a daily work essential. After noticing some slight wear and tear, I had placed an order for a second pair of these sneakers - hopeful for a better second time around. However, i had placed the second order via Amazon 2-Day Delivery on November 25th, with an expected delivery date of November 28th so that I could still be in compliance for my work requirements. This order didn’t arrive till December 12th, 2023. I had sent multiple messages to Amazon inquiring why this order was so late to provide my boss with an ETA on when I’ll have new shoes. Amazon couldn’t explain why, this delivery was so late and as of December 12th, have yet to compensate me for this major inconvenience. In summary, the Lugz Men's Lear Lace Up Sneakers offer a harmonious blend of comfort and style for the workplace throughout the initial couple of weeks. Prospective buyers should be mindful of potential durability concerns with extensive use. If prioritizing comfort is paramount, and you're open to accommodating severe wear and tear over time, these sneakers can still be a fitting choice for your work requirements or daily activities. I won’t be reordering these sneakers again, the durability and shipping delays have given me enough discomfort to justify investing in different sneakers.
