They did the job I wanted and will be used a lot in the future

I only needed a couple of these inserts for a specific job . They are made using poor quality metal ,they are very soft . I drilled a clearance hole leaving only the thread to cut into the wood ,unfortunately the hex head rounded off as I tried to screw it into position . The metal is far too soft even for end grain with a correctly sized hole . I would imagine the internal threads will also strip with just a modest amount of torque .
