Wow. This UV light is amazing. Very bright. Outstanding for detecting puppy accidents on carpet or tile floors. Also wonderful for detecting almost any finish abnormalities such as water spots. With adult supervision this is a wonderful discovery experiment for children.

Yall. So I got a new puppy and smelled pee but couldn’t find it. Was under cabinet glowing like a star using light and found 3 other spots. To say this works is an understatement and I’m not one to review a product. Anyway. I’m grossed out and have to go build a new house 😭

Good bright led lights

This is a decent UV flashlight. I can't say much about the battery life other than that it hasn't died on me yet, but longevity seems okay. The housing is solid with a little heft, so I don't feel like it would just break if I dropped it, and there's a wrist strap just in case. The power switch is convenient, right by the thumb instead of at the bottom of the base like some flashlights have. The strength of the light itself is where it's a bit weaker, though. I bought this to help find spots where my cat had urinated on my carpets. Unfortunately, even in a dark room, it just doesn't produce enough contrast for me to easily identify urine spots unless I'm holding the light *exactly* the right distance from the floor. The reason distance matters is that the bulbs have a fair bit of directionality, resulting in a brighter circle of light in the middle of the beam that falls off very quickly outside of that spot. But that circle is not much different in color than the urine glow I'm looking for, so having the flashlight too close to the ground makes it tough to tell the beam from a urine spot. But if I hold it further away, the light diffuses so quickly that there's just not enough power to see urine that way either unless, again, I'm holding it at _exactly_ the right distance from the floor. The carpet in my house is a pale blue though, so it's also possible the darker carpet just makes it tougher for the light to work effectively. Regardless, the light just hasn't been very effective for me at finding urine. It's overall a decent flashlight, it just wasn't quite up to the particular task I wanted it to do. Still, I pulled it out at Halloween, and it was great at supercharging glow-in-the-dark items and making white clothing shine at night. (If you're wondering what I did for the urine, I bought a larger uv light bar from the hardware store instead. It does a good job but is much less portable.)

I didnt know a whole lot about UV light when I bought this. I bought this one and a cheapy under $10 one. The difference is amazing. While they both technically work, this one is much much better and stronger. Being able to use it without having to be completely in the dark is huge , it also shows a much larger area then the cheapest ones Just a heads up takes 6 AA batteries that are not included. Solid build quality, nice sturdy all metal build. Whether your looking for scorpions in the backyard or happy spots on sheets this will make them shine! And um ladies...if you take it into the bathroom, try and remember to give your man a break and not lecture him too bad on his aim.

I'm not going to lie when I heard you could use these lights to find tomato hornworms, I was a little skeptical. But when you get tomato plants wiped out by those little pests, you are willing to try anything. Before I had any signs of them, I took this light out after dark, and from about 15ft away could see a pretty small hornworm about 1.5in long glowing like a night light on the plant, you couldn't miss it. I even started to look forward to having more hornworms on my plants just so I could go out and see them glow(maybe a little exaggeration but secretly I did want to see one light up every now and then). If you grow tomatoes any have ever had a tomato hornworm eat up your plant, you should invest in this.

Definitely not strong enough to detect leaks unless you're right on top of it. I had water damage in my hallway and this light didn't show any of the water damage whereas the Shadowhawk S1979 did. I bought 3 different brands just to see which one would work the best. The Kobra came in 3rd.

I bought this because I caught our cat peeing in one of our carpeted rooms NEAR her litter box. The room smelled very bad, even though we kept the boxes clean, so I decided to do some investigating. As others mentioned, it doesn't pick up 'fresh' urine, but the older stuff...holy cow...she peed on just about every square inch of that room. (It's a behavioral issue, not health, so we're making some changes to the litter and box placement.) But this product helped me realize that some spot cleaning wasn't going to do it, we're going to have to go full shampoo to reclaim that room. The spots don't light up like CSI, but are very noticeable in full dark.

I bought this for my girlfriend who wanted to find out if I had been “messing around ”. I made a bet with her, and told her I’d prove my innocence by buying her this UV flashlight so she can look for semen stains on certain items that I either worn or fiddled around with. I didn’t think this device would find anything at all because I’m a very neat and tidy person but, unfortunately for me, it did. It uses 6 AA batteries and is fairly large and somewhat heavy, about 7 inches in length. It’s also made in China, as you can see in one of the pictures (on the box). There’s one button on the handle to push, to switch on the light. The light is quite powerful. Long story short, my girlfriend discovered semen stains that weren’t visible at all in normal lighting. I was very surprised. Well, more like shocked. She used the flashlight in the dark and hunted around our bedroom, and found a one-inch semen stain on the inside hem of my form-fitting black turtleneck shirt and small semen stains on two pairs of my shiny men’s black leather dress shoes. As you can see in the photos, I always keep my dress shoes well-shined. I wore these shoes and the black turtleneck shirt when I had an affair last year, but I wasn’t aware that I had left any stains on them. My girlfriend also used the flashlight in her little son’s room, and discovered semen stains on her child’s action toy figure. She used the light everywhere around the house, and found semen stains in our bedroom and in her boy’s toy box. To be honest, I wished this UV flashlight hadn’t worked that well (or even at all), but it was amazingly effective. I not only lost a bet with my girlfriend, but now the woman wants an explanation from me for how my semen got on my men’s leather dress shoes, my black turtleneck shirt, and especially her young boy’s toy action figure. Her child told her that he “saw me” take his action figure to the bathroom once, implying that I handled the toy in an inappropriate manner for my own pleasure. It’s an eight-year old’s word against mine. I not only lost the bet with my girlfriend, but now I got some explaining to do.

And now we can see exactly where! Although the urine smug was very hard to identify, as it had been partly cleaned, now we know exactly where to target the cleaning products. But further to this, whoa! Our carpet lights up like a Christmas tree with cat vomit! We usually clean them up asap, but finally we can solve the mystery of the midnight spew without fuss, all thanks to this awesome UV torch.
