Prismacolor Col-Erase Erasable Colored Pencils, Adult Coloring, 12 Pack

I've had these for a few weeks now, and I must say these are very fun to sketch with. At first, I was put off by how hard the cores are, since I'm used to soft-cored colored pencils. I would color with ordinary prismacolors, but these are excellent for sketching (and inking, once you're done).

Nice selection of colors. I will be using to sketch watercolor paintings before painting so it is nice to have colors that will blend in to the painting if I don't completely remove it. Sharpened up to a good point without breaking. Erased without damaging my cold press watecrolor paper

These are favored by most artists and deserve most of that praise. However, they are not SO exceptional that they surpass all others. Yes, they have a nice color saturation and blend fairly well. There are others almost as good that are coming out though. I dont know if its vecause manufacturing is cheaper than before ir if the cost of raw materials is lower now,but there are other pencils giving this one a run for the money. If you can afford these and prefer these then by all means go for it. I csn say however that these will not make you a better artist. If you are learning to use pencils and are expecting that these will make your work appear at a whole otber level, they wont. If money is tight or you are a beginner, you can try a less expensive pencil set to practice with and then move up to these. If you csnt afford these then don't stress yourself. Ifbyou want them REALLY badly then buy a small set and purchase yhe colors you will use the most. My daughter draws EVERY SINGLE DAY, and she rarely goes to this set of pencils just because they cost so much more. She wanted them because some fellow artist said how great they were. She found out for herself that artists can be like fashion divas and throw out those better named products. Its all in the eye of the beholder...

These colored pencils are a nice option if you want erasable color. The pigment goes down smoothly, and the built-in erasers actually work, which makes them useful for sketching, planning, or situations where you might want to adjust colors as you go. They’re not as richly pigmented as Prismacolor’s regular colored pencils, so if you’re looking for bold, vibrant layers, these won’t deliver quite the same intensity. Still, for drafting, light coloring, or adding erasable notes, they’re very handy. A practical set with good versatility—just not as strong in color depth as non-erasable Prismacolors.

In my opinion, they feel different than the normal Prismacolor colored pencils. I feel like a mix of graphite and colored pencils, and it's feel great! They're very soft, but not too soft than the PC colored pencils. They can erased and blend very easy, and they're very enjoyable to drawing! And I love that! What I can see is, some pencils are not pigmented, they're pale, but, they're very useful for sketch, and this is awesome! And that's why I buy these. So cool drawing pencils! Note: they're for Designers, Illustrators and Artist.

These are hyped up, and for a good reason. They are pretty erasable for a colored pencil and blend perfectly. I use them to create a sketch under my watercolor paintings and makes a beautiful saturated undertone for the painting. I have had these for a few years and have not grown tired of them. Suitable for professionals, hobbyists, and children alike.

I bought these after asking a question about them and receiving answers from some kind buyers who took the time to answer,...again, I thank them! Very pleased with the quality, range of colors and the how they write so smoothly compared to a couple of other brands we have. I have a "very young artist" who is quite particular about what he uses to draw with, and he is also very pleased with the range of colors. He compared this brand to the other brand most children use for crayons and markers, and the smoothness and ease when drawing with each is easily seen and felt. The erasing is not 100%, but it is good enough where if you use another color over what was erased, there isn't much difference. Overall, we are very pleased!

Gorgeous, saturated colors and smooth-writing lead. The eraser works well, too, even on thin paperback book paper (I use these for annotating). However, the lead is very fragile and three of my 12 colored pencils had broken lead all the way down to the middle of the pencil before I wrote with them once (the lead kept breaking on the first sharpening). It's clear that the lead was shattered in the core of the pencil, although it's unclear whether this was during shipping or beforehand (the mailer was well-padded). For the price, it's disappointing that a good amount of the pencils won't last very long.

Better pigmented than both Faber-Castell and Staedtler erasable colour pencils. And they should be, given their price. Way better made than the "usual" Prismacolor premier colored pencils! They clearly undergo a much better QC! No cracks in the wood, no off-center cores, no breakages, easily sharpened to very fine point that holds well. Kneaded eraser works well on them, better than on Faber-Castell and way better than on the Staedtler erasable pencils.

These pencils are very nice for sketching. They have a nice level of pigmentation, however I do wish the black was slightly more intense. The colour does not fully erase, and it leaves a very slight residue on the paper. The erasers on the bottom of the pencils are nice. They are soft and erase well. The pencils sharpen well. I've yet to have any lead breakage when sharpening and using these pencils. Overall they are nice for adding colour to sketches, but I would avoid using them if you want to be able to completely erase your sketch. They are a reasonable price for the quality, and they feel like a step up from sketching with normal coloured pencils.

I'm so glad these pencils are finally available at a somewhat affordable price in India, I've been waiting to buy these for ages. I'd recommend purchasing this set over single color sets since the price is comparable and if you're trying these out for the first time and don't know which color you'd prefer personally, having a few options is convenient. I really like the brown and red shades and purple is also surprisingly very nice under markers. Yes, the yellow and black options aren't the best,but they still might be useful under some circumstances. As far as the product is concerned, these are simply put the best sketching pencils available. Period. They are a delight to draw with and have a bunch of advantages over normal graphite pencils, a few being no smudging, slightly toothier texture (which I personally love), color choices(YAY!) etc. Graphite pencils have their own charm but for a lot of artists/illustrators who use mediums like watercolors, markers or even gouache, graphite is a nightmare to paint over as the graphite gets picked up by the pigments very easily. Yes, these aren't completely erasable, but that's when compared to graphite. When used by a light hand they do erase sufficiently. Most artists prefer to let a light layer sketched with these stay under the final color. They do blend under alcohol markers which can be a desirable effect. Personally, I enjoy the look of an illustration with a light sketch layer under it visible. Please don't be misled by other reviews by people who don't understand its purpose. These are not for children and is used by professional artists/illustrators all over the world. It's appalling that these have a low rating here, which is one of the highest rated products everywhere else. There is a reason these pencils are so highly sought after, they are truly, that good. Also, these are mainly for sketching purposes, pencils like polychromos etc. are for coloring purposes. When products are used for their intended purposes, no complaints arise. All in all, I'd happily recommend these to everyone, 10/10 no doubts.
