Positive Results!
Should have thought of getting this sooner for my favorite four-legged guy! Poor guy's tummy sensitivities and frequent diarrhea spells have made him unbelievably picky. It's been a tough road nourishing him because I'll find food he likes only for him to eventually tire of it. Then I have to perform song and dance or hide-and-seek-kibble for him to maybe eat a small handful every 4-5 days (and just enough to keep him alive) until one of us finds something else he likes but doesn't give him tummy aches or make him depressed about eating even though we know he's starving. I never knew dogs could be so hard to feed. I used to think all dogs ate all and everything! I bought this probiotic not expecting much but the change in him was very noticeable. His stools were runny until about three dosages/meals/poops later, when his poop started looking glorious (I won't go into detail so just know that it was really nice-looking poop). Anyway, my shepherd's behavior and personality have been rejuvenated. He's eating more regularly and his appetite is much more consistent. His incredibly toxic farts have drastically improved; i.e. they've become non-existent, thanks be to Heaven! He even scampers like a young puppy when he runs and plays! I don't know if this result will happen for every dog (though I hope so) but I'm completely sold. (I ingest plenty of probiotic yogurt but have been inspired to buy probiotic pills for myself!) Lastly, I was surprised my picky dog ate these tablets straight up. No pill pockets were required; I offered it to him as if it was a special training treat. Then again, he was probably starving. He's gone through the entire bottle so I got the exact same brand but non-chewable this time. It takes a lot less tablets required for his weight and it's cheaper too. Will try sprinkling over his food and see what happens. -UPDATE- Love the capsuled version. Lasts longer because less is required for bigger dogs. I just open the capsules and sprinkle into his cold or room-temperature food. (Heated or warm food seems to kill the potency.) Same great results! Also my new little rescue has also responded favorably to VetriScience probiotics. She's never had pooping or gas issues but her scratching has noticeably subsided. Thumbs up.

Helped our dog's digestive issues...!
This product is amazing. One of our dogs and skin issues (staph and flea dermatitis- poor little guy!) and had to put on antibiotics a number of times. I gave him extra probiotics (not this probiotic) to counter the effect on the good bacteria but after awhile they did not seem to work as well. He kept having soft, unformed poops and his anal glands were getting impacted as a result. His fur was getting dry and limp looking despite being groomed. Gave him plain yogurt, pumpkin purรฉe and no changes. I was at my wits end. Then I did some research on Amazon and found this product. I changed his kibble diet to boiled white rice and chicken to give his tummy a rest in the past, and it did not help too much. This time, with the rice and chicken diet, I gave him 3 tabs of the Vetri- Probiotic per day- one before the am and pm meals and the last one around 9-10pm because I have read that a good amount of healing occurs during sleep. It took about a week and I was concerned that it wasn't working but lo and behold, today his poop was moist and FIRM today!!(I never thought I'd see the day when I would get excited about dog poo- I need to get out more often... ;-)). Our 10 yo pup feels better and doesn't scoot his backside on the floor anymore. Note: I did add a teaspoon of coconut oil per meal last week and a few days ago, added a teaspoon of coconut flour to his meals as I read that the good bacteria thrive and feed on fiber. Coconut flour is high in fiber and pretty low in carbs (bad bacteria feed on sugars and carbs). The Vetri-probiotics helped to heal and soothe his gut (think it was the glutamine and herbs in this product) and the coconut fiber helped the good bacteria. Anyway, we, and our pup, are very happy, thanks to Vetri-probiotics and Amazon.

Not a good choice for my dog
I have used Vetri Science probiotics for a long time and they have worked well for my dog. When I went to reorder this time they were out of them so I purchased this chewable version. My dog wouldn't have anything to do with them so I was having to break them up in her food or get her to swallow them whole (not an easy task with a large dog. She started having diarrhea within 1 day of taking these and has had very soft stools and diarrhea since that time - not the healthy stools from before. My vet asked if her food had changed and I explained that I had switched the type of probiotic since the others were not available at the time. A couple of days after I quit giving these to her the stools are back to normal. There is nothing appetizing about the chewable version - doesn't even smell like something my dog would chew up. Wasted my money on this version and have found the other probiotic available again so I have switched back.

Good for IBD
My dog likes the taste of these so I don't have to fight to get her to eat it. Seems to work with her IBD but if she eats something she doesn't normally eat she will still have an attack. They seem to do more than just a probiotic powder would do. A probiotic/enzyme supplement is great for all dogs but this just adds a few more things. My holistic vet recommended it and I got it at half the price on Amazon than at the vet's office.

Love It!
My 11 yr. old Minature Schnauzer went blind 6 months ago and was diagnosed with both SARDS and Cushings. He frequently had large piles of loose bowel movements and often times diarrhea as a result. His stomach was very bloated and he was uncomfortable laying down which resulted in restlessness all night long. About 3 months ago we began giving him this product daily. His bowels movements have drastically improved and are almost like they were before he got sick. No more diarreha and 98% of the time his bowel movements are normal in consistency and size. This alone is miraculous for a dog on medication who has been diagnosed with both Cushings and SARDS. The frequency has also greatly decreased to after every meal - which was normal for him. No more accidents, if we are not at home he will hold like he used to do prior to his illness. Also, no more getting up in the middle of the night to potty! The bloating of his stomach has also greatly reduced. He can now lay in any position and sleep throughout the night. We absolutely love this product and will continue to use it!!!

Dogs With Sensitive Stomachs Must Have
I have used this product recently on my rescued chiwinnis,(dachshund and chihuahua) since one has a very sensitive[ stomach. It fixes her up in a couple of hours, and she wants to eat again. I discovered Vetri Science Bowel Defense, when I had one of my dogs in kidney distress which caused nausea and sick stomach. It worked great for him and helped him to eat. My dog was 19, and I did lose him, but he never wasted away from not being able to eat. In fact he was a little chunky when we lost him to a stroke brought on by kidney failure. It works well when your dog has eaten something you know that will upset his stomach, give a dose and he wont get sick has been my experience. For those of ya'll that have little dogs with sensitive stomachs a daily dose will help keep intestines balanced with the proper flora and help alleviate nausea and diarrhea. Having had rescue animals for years, I always research and try natural products instead of going the typical vet route. Don't get me wrong I have helped send my vets children to college, but I appreciate having products that I can dispense at home and save a trip to the vet. I use a lot of Vetri Science Products and have had very favorable response. Read my review on Vetri Science Vetri Disc. intestinal miracle
My dog has a sensitive stomach. for a person who doesn't have a dog with a sensitive stomach, that means, prone to bouts of serious gastritis, won't eat, acid reflux, runs, vomiting, you name it, when she eats something that doesn't agree with her. Before I used the Bowel Defense, this would occur even sometimes when she was eating her normal dog food. The BD sooths her stomach, lessens the gurgling sounds, reduces the frequency of burping up water after drinking it, helps the stools stay firm, and even the smell of the pooh is less offensive. Initially it took about 3 weeks for the beneficial bacteria and pro-biotics in the BD to help her digestive tract; if I run out of the BD, after a couple days, she starts burbing and appears distressed and uncomfortable. Which is why I strive to always have plenty of this on hand. One good thing about purchasing it from Amazon through Amazon Prime, is that if you run out, you can choose next day shipping for a small extra fee, which has ensured that even if I run out of the Bd, some more can be delivered quickly and reliably.

My dog has been on it for years
I tried other probiotics, but this one works better for my dog and is easier to give to him. He'll eat these and he makes me put the supposedly chewable heartworm pill in cream cheese, which is good since he eats one of these every day. They have some glucosamine, so I don't give it to him separately. He had really bad problems with recurrent diarrhea when I got him and I finally found the perfect dog food and he was great until they changed the formula. My dogs are now on Wellness Core Reduced Fat and his presents are pretty solid most of the time, but I'd say if he didn't take these he'd have diarrhea half the time he goes, as it is it is usually only near the end of a long walk when everything starts loosening up. I tried to stop once while he was on this food and had to rush order a bottle to get him stable again. He's very reactive, so I think he does it to himself by bombarding himself with stress hormones. Vets looked very hard for the source of the problem and found nothing. He seems to do best with senior or low fat foods with (relatively) high fiber, but he still needs these.

Makes my dog vomit
I had high hopes for this product. I had researched in depth what the best probiotic was for my golden retriever that suffers from reoccurring Clostridium over growth.. always requiring antibiotics. I have tried to give her 1 pill with and without food. And both times she immediately vomited. Now, I have had this dog for over a year and she has never puked. And the only times she has puked were when I tried to give her this product. I'm very glad I started with 1 pill instead of the recommended 5 pills based on weight. The product did arrive as indicated by the shipping update. However, it is pricey. And there isn't a smaller volume that can be purchased as a trial. I have been using probiotic miracle for the last year with no negative side effects. Now.... what do I do with a $70 bottle of pills I can't use?.... Update on refund - after contacting the seller and Amazon about my problems with the product, a full refund was provided. Based on the great customer service (prompt as well), I wouldn't hesitate to use the seller again for other products.
