Great value, but a pain to assemble
Great machine, easy to use. Leg extensions and curls are what it's for. I actually think the leg curls that I perform with his machine are more effective than when I'm lying on my stomach. I really felt that I could isolate my hamstrings. Pleasantly surprised with the ability to adjust the machine for myself, my wife, and my kids. Now for the bad. I'll totally confess to being mechanically declined, but this was a pain in the @$$ to assemble. There were no real instructions and the bolts provided were very similar in size and easily mixed up. One of the metal support pieces had to be hammered in to the other to make it fit. Figuring out how to use it was a little challenging as no instructions were provided. This video showed that it is actually easy to use. [...]. In the end, what gets it 5 stars is that, 1) once put together, it is very sturdy, and 2) it is $150 cheaper on Amazon than at any local retailer. I got it within 3 days and the 90 minute assembly time was at least partially my fault doe to mixing up the bolts and having to restart.

Great machine, easy to assemble
I just now finished putting together my new Body-Solid Cam Series Leg Extension and Curl Machine and I am impressed. I am known as the Simon Cowell of (book) reviews so people sit up and take notice when I give a positive review and this is a positive review. I am 6'1" tall and it fits me perfectly. This has to be one of the easiest assembly on a piece of gym equipment I have every put together. I started with reading the instructions but the diagrams were so clear I just went off of them and it took me about an hour to assemble. Some people have stated that you can't put the cam assembly on if you put the seat on first but I had no problem putting it on with the seat on. In fact it didn't even come close to interfering with putting it on. It comes ready for standard 1" plates but I had a few 2" sleeves laying around as well as both 1" and 2" plates so that didn't matter to me one way or another. There is a reason they call it Body-Solid because this machine is solid. Comfortable seat and smooth operation. You don't really need to move the bar between ext and curls because it centers anyway with the weights. 5 stars all the way and I highly recommend.

Excellent for a home gym
I've only had this for a couple of days, but so far it's been good. I will update the review if anything changes -- but here's what I've got so far: The instructions could definitely be improved. I didn't have much trouble getting it put together, but it would have gone much faster if the instructions were better. They put all of the wording on one side of the page, and a photo of all of the pieces and how they fit together on the back side. You're constantly having to flip the paper over to reference what the instructions are talking about. Also, be especially careful with the big bolts! There are a couple of them that are almost identical in length, and also a couple of them that are the same length, but one is a little bit thicker. If you mix them up, you'll have to take things apart and re-assemble. It took a little longer, but I just pulled the bolts out and used the sizing chart on every single step, in order to avoid the hassle. They all come in one bag mixed together -- I feel like it would be better if they came either in separate bags, or were labeled in some form or fashion. TLDR: The instructions aren't that great. There were a few parts that had some scuffs on them, and one of them had a couple of grooves dug into it and looked like maybe someone had tried to use it before, and sent it back. I'm not sure on that part though -- it could have happened at the factory. The foam rollers and the seat / back pad were surprisingly good quality. It's comfortable to sit on, and the material looks like it'll hold up for a while. Once I got it put together, it seemed to work just fine. It's a bit inconvenient to have to completely remove the adjustable foam arm thing every time you get in/out, but that's not the end of the world. The leg curl and extension both work great. YOU WILL NEED THE SLEEVE ADAPTERS IF YOU USE OLYMPIC PLATES I put that last part in caps just so you wouldn't miss it. The bar that holds the plates is standard sized out of the box -- you'll need to pick up an olympic (2') adapter for it. There are several for sale here on amazon. I would avoid the plastic ones, as the screws strip -- check out the metal sleeve adapters instead. Overall, I took one star away because of the instructions. If not for that, it would be 5 stars all the way. If you've got a home gym and you're looking for a leg extension/curl machine -- this wouldn't be a bad choice. I enjoy mine so far, and I would recommend it.

Good machine, works better than I do
Once upon a time.....there was a Nautilus total workout machine in my basement and I loved it. I'm not a body builder, just want to keep in shape, but there's just not enough room (low ceiling) in the current basement. This body solid machine isn't up to the same standard as the old nautilus, but it certainly is more than good enough. It works very well and gives me a chance to work the old legs they wouldn't get otherwise, and as a polio survivor these leg muscles of mine have to be kept in shape. It's literally do or die. The only complaint I have with the machine is the assembly instructions. If you're clairvoyant you'll have no trouble putting the thing together, if however, you're like me it's best to lay everything out, make sure to identify the bolts correctly and all should go well. It took me about 3 hours from opening the box to completed assembly. The instructions consist of a single badly photocopied sheet with nothing more than an exploded view of the machine and parts. Go for it, and have some fun. This machine does not come with a weight stack. The shaft is 1" in diameter and 1" weights can be tough to find, fortunately I had some sitting around, but if you don't, expect to spend another $100.00 for new weights, so look for used weights for a considerable savings. All in all if you are looking for a good value in a leg Ext/Curl machine I don't think you will go wrong with this Body Solid GCEC340 Cam Series Leg Ext Curl Machine.

Not bad
I have several pieces of Body Solid gym equipment, and for the most part have had a good experience with them. This has been a decent addition to the home gym. Couple of small issues however. The instructions for assembly look like they have been improved based on what other reviews are saying. But I just don't understand why manufacturers can't put all the bolts of a same length in a bag by themselves, and/or mark the top with a drop of colored paint. Then just say "put green bolt here" you have to sit an measure every bolt on their sheet to make sure it's the right one. And some are so close to others in length, that it's hard to tell. Once that was all finished, it turned out nicely. It's a sold machine. However, as others have mentioned you'll need to get the adapters for the weight posts if you want to use 2 inch plates on the machine. The only other issue is that I'm fairly tall. 6'5. So since the lower arm that you use to push the weight doesn't adjust up and down, it doesn't quite fit right. But, if you are below 6'3 or so, it should work fine. (edit) I'm updating the review after having used the machine for a few workouts. 2 main issues 1- You can't adjust the height on the seat, or the length of the leg extension bar. But, having said that.. if you are in the normal height range it will probably work fine. But being taller, this is a challeng 2-The weight post only holds 4 45 lb plates. This is an "ok" workout. But that's the most it can hold lengthwise. I'm not the strongest guy out there. So if that isn't enough weight for me, I'm sure others will have this problem. You can solve it by just switching to single leg extensions. But it's worth mentioning.

Body Solid Machine helps build solid body parts.
This is a substitute for one of those bench units that has three exercise stations on it,Leg curls,Preacher Curl,Bench Press,I got tired of changing attachments (Legs press/Preacher curl). What sold me on this unit was the floor leg design/hand grip design.Shipping was very good (packaged was super/arrived sooner then expected). 2 Hours later I was Leg Pressing to my enjoyment.Body Solid is true to it's name SOLID build. There is a change involved to do quadriceps and hamstrings, but quick and easy some 10 seconds tops, ( one should rest 2 minutes between working different parts of the body). The only downside is that the Olympic Weight adapter is not included. ( have ordered one, only have olympic size weight plates). I do like this exercise machine and i am glad i read the reviews on Amazon. I only have 100 lbs. on it and it's perfect for me...( just want to keep the legs in shape). Main reason I gave it Five Stars -- Design of seat/back support/arm grips gives me better leverage compared to my old bench model. Yes assembly instructions are weak. The Next exercise machine I plan to buy, I will look at Body Solid Company to see if they make a version of it.

Better than Kaiser
This saved me! Or my knees that is. After seeing two Kaiser doctors about my knee issues and hearing that I’ll be in pain for the rest of my life and would have to get cortisone shots three times a year to manage my pains, I bought an exercise recumbent bike and this leg machine. I was in excruciating pain for a year and, at that time, couldn’t even dance at my own wedding. Now, using both machines three times a week, no pain, no braces, no limping, and no doctors. I even dropped Kaiser. I’m 6’1, 290, and this leg machine is perfect, sturdy, steady, and worth every cent. Wish I made this purchase a few months before my wedding two years ago. Definitely worth it.

What we used to call PPP.
Due to scarcity of machines out there w the pandemic, I took what I could get. Need rehab and the gym is not an option right now. First, I never write reviews. I mean never. This thing is sturdy enough although the welds look skimpy, but there wasn’t hardly a piece that didn’t have paint damage from the pp packaging job. Basically everything was ziptied together with zip for protection. Metal on metal. Must be a long term problem. Comes with multiple bottles of touch up. It’s all together, functional although the extension bar does not sit level, but it looks like I got it at a tag sale and put new cushions on it. Not worth the extra $$, and I am ok paying top dollar for top quality. This is not top quality.

FA IL SUO DOVERE!!
Attrezzo per uso domestico molto buono, abbastanza compatto, materiali di qualita', secondo me.
