We used it for our family to make something fun to do together at Christmas! Homemade keepsakes that aren't expensive. Looks great when hung and is a big hit!!! Paints and markers work great on wooden surfaces too. The creative ideas are endless. No complaints!

I ordered these because I thought it'd be nice to paint some birds on them to use for either Christmas tree ornaments, or as coasters at my cabin. In the attached images, I used acrylic paint, and it went on very nicely with no issues. The surface of the wood is smooth and flat, so I didn't need to worry about my paintings being disrupted by irregularities in the surface.This kit came with strings and a tool for punching small holes in the wood, in case you want to use them for ornaments. I think for mine, I will use some acrylic sealant or lacquer to protect the paint and use them as coasters.P.S. For some reason, this came with an encouraging greeting card, too, with a handwritten message. I wasn't expecting it, but it was a nice touch!

Pros- they arrived quickly and they are already smooth so no need to sand.Cons- I ordered the 3.2in - 4in batch and I received quite a few that were less than 3 inches. I also received a few that where broken off like in the picture. I may try ordering from another seller in the future****EDIT****THE COMPANY CONTACTED ME REGARDING MY DISSATISFACTION AND THE ISSUES I HAD WITH MY ORDER. THEY FULLY RESOLVED THE ISSUE AND WERE EXTREMELY NICE ABOUT IT. THE FACT THAT THEY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND WHEN THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO MAKES ME WANT TO PURCHASE FROM THEM AGAIN. Very good quality wood rounds. I inspected each piece they were all smooth and no cracks. I plan on pouring resin over them. Cannot wait to see the results.

The wood was fine, however the included drill is completely non-functional, which is why the rating. The drill "looks" like a hand drill, until you attempt to use it. The middle piece which is supposed to hold the drill bit, does not hold it, and is actually one solid piece of metal, so it doesn't open or close. I ended up having to throw the entire thing away. The kit also does not include enough string for all the wood supplied, maybe length enough for 5 or so actual ornaments, that is of course if you can figure out how to drill a hole in them with another tool.
