I like this thing a lot! We put it on our fridge to notify us whenever the fridge door opened. It works very well in that regard. For the first month you get unlimited text messages that your fridge door is open every time. After that I think they send you 10 text messages a month which is a little silly considering how often a fridge door opens and closes, but that's what they give you. You can set it for various applications, and adjust the sound level. It's very sensitive and accurate. It connected easily to my phone. I would recommend this device to anyone who needs something like it!

Setup was refreshingly easy - no complicated hub to configure, no subscription fees to worry about. Just install it and connect to your phone. The best feature is the dual alert system. Not only does it send text messages and phone notifications when the door is left open, but it also has an annoyingly loud beeping alarm that you absolutely cannot ignore. And I mean that in the best way possible - that beeping will make sure someone closes that fridge door! No more coming home to spoiled food because someone left the freezer cracked open. The repeat alarm feature is great too. It doesn't just beep once and give up - it has repeat alarm that keep going until that door is closed. The adjustable time delay means it won't go off when you're just grabbing something, and you can set the volume (though honestly, you want it loud). For anyone tired of finding their refrigerator or freezer door left open, this is the solution. No monthly fees, no complicated smart home setup, just a reliable alarm that works. Not sure about all the bad reviews but they work perfectly. Easy to put on and I get an alert via text every time they've been open for too long. It doesn't matter to me how often I get a text as long as I'm getting a text when the door was left open.

Just got this door alarm because I was tired of my family leaving the door to our pantry refrigerator freezer ajar. The installation was fairly straightforward, but I needed to get chat support to help me with the integration with my Google home. In the end, it did not work with my version of my Google Wi-Fi mesh point speaker, but it did work with my Alexa. Chat support was very helpful in walking me through the steps. Alarm is plenty loud and the text comes through on my phone as advertised. If it continues to perform well, I may consider buying another for another application.

EDIT: Customer support has continued to be very helpful and responsive to suggestions and feature requests. They've added Push notifications through the app since I made my original review and it's working great! ------------------------- Original Review ------------------------- I've only had this in use for a week, but I will give some initial thoughts. I have this set up on my garage door to help catch the times that it's left open or doesn't close all the way. The good: * Product seems well-built * Companion app works well * Alert customization is flexible (multiple time controls/stages of alerts) * Customer support has been very helpful and responsive The bad: * Had a few hiccups with setup (serial number registration didn't work and text notifications didn't work at first) * Updating the configuration is annoying (you have to update in the app, then move the device and press a button which is cumbersome on the garage door) * Text message notifications can only go to one number * Set of alerting mechanisms is small (would be really nice to have in-app notifications and email) The overview: This product helps fill a gap in the market for delayed notifications of door/window states. Hopefully this product continues to mature and gets more features. For now, it gets the job done just fine!

Lets start with the Bad. This device needs to connect to your wifi to send alerts, and that connection is facilitated via a mobile app on your phone. You are unable to set up this devices on your wifi without giving the mobile app your precise location data. That is a bunch of crap because the device doesn't allow you to setup any kind of geofence. The only purpose of the app is to set up the wifi and establish when it makes noise, how long, and how loud. As for the device, one surprise is that each time you open the door, it beeps, which is kinda annoying, but I guess you know if the battery is dead. I tested the device and the text message worked, but the fridge is in the garage so hopefully its loud enough but not so loud my neighbors are mad.

I guess this might be a bit of a niche use product. It's functionally a normal magnetic door alarm (i.e. it alarms when the magnetic bond between sensors is broken), but then one is next level in that it has software onboard that you can set up as desired to make much louder and more dramatic alarms if that magnetic bond is not restored. You can choose the time delay, with up to three alarms sounding. You can choose the volume. It can also notify via text (I think it is 10 free notifications per year, with no clear indication of what happens after that), something else I don't understand and don't use, and then it can do an amusing robotic voice-of-God thing over a Google Home if you happen to have one of those. It's pretty straight forward to set up, just holding the button to get it into interface mode and then setting it up via an app (which is approved by Google and officially on the store, for the record (also available for iPhone but I don't know anything about that)). There are printed directions and they are also available online. Additionally, their customer service is top shelf! I had an accident where I switched Wi-Fi networks and this rendered the unit unreachable, but I was able to message the company their website and they got back to me extremely promptly at a weird hour too. My agent was clearly like directly hand-on knowledgeable about the product, with none of the "try turning it off and back on" faffing about for days like a call center where they're just throwing bodies out as flak for angry customers. Great product!

Setting up the app is difficult. I had to re-enter all the info multiple times. When you change the batteries, you'll probably have to replace the double-stick tape to hold it on the fridge door. Once set-up, it works great. Glad I could disable the beep on door open.
