Great for a car Trip
I bought this set for my almost 4-year old son to keep him entertained during a 2,000 roundtrip vacation by car. I set him up with a flat box across his leg. He loved this set and it kept his attention for long periods of time over two days. We didn't let him take the set into the motel with us because we didn't want to risk losing pieces. He could hardly wait to get back into the car the next morning so he could keep building and playing. I also liked it when he asked me for help because it gave me something to do. Most of it though my son could figure out on his own following the directions and he could easily put the Legos together and take apart. When we did get home, he also wanted to build the set from scratch and use it with other Lego sets we own.

LEGO JUNIORS ROCKS!
My son who is 6 got this for Christmas. He is a very bright boy, and he loved the idea of creating things, but when we tried legos for his previous birthday, they were too hard for him. All the little pieces needed snapping together, it took too long, and he grew tired of the frustration. I originally thought these were a crossover between Mega Blocks and regular Legos, sorta bigger than Legos, but they are NOT. They simply have bigger pieces that snap together (like walls) instead of building everything Brick by Brick. I laid out the guide that showed what pieces went where, and after dumping each Numbered bag, we'd assemble. Him find the bricks, and helping to snap then when I thought he could. This set only took us about 25 minutes together. I highly recommend! PLUS they can be added right into regular legos. Juniors ROCK!

Who knew LEGOs were so much fun!
My son is new to LEGOs. He's not even 3 but he really loves this one. He calls it a play ground because of the slide. He takes the fireman truck and another LEGO car and has them talking to each other. 'What do you want to do?' 'Lets go to the play ground!' 'OK!' and he'll drive them over to the slide and have the LEGO guys slide down. I was skeptical when I bought the LEGOs because I was never really into them as a kid but he really loves them and to be honest its pretty fun building them. It has me wanting to get bigger more complicated sets just for me to build.

Do not waste money on Lego Jr.
I bought this set for my 3 1/2 yr old son. He's already built several Lego City sets (meant for 5-12yrs) with minimal help from me so I thought a Lego Jr. set would be perfect for him to build on his own. This set required far more of my assistance than the ones meant for older kids. The bricks are slightly larger than the small pieces that you'd find in the other sets. This I assumed was so little fingers can grasp better and lower choking hazards - but the bricks do not snap as tightly so even the slightest touch makes things fall apart. Every single time my son attached a piece something fell off somewhere else. He was so frustrated by continually having to back track and repair. The intructions on this set are also totally backwards. My son basically had to re-write the book in order to prevent total destruction with every added brick. I wanted to get rid of it half way through the building process but he stuck with it and finished it. Too bad he can't actually play with it. If he breathes on it too hard the whole thing will collapse. Super disappointed in this set.

BUYER BEWARE OF BROKEN PIECES!!!!!
Two pieces were broken. This has playability but it has been broken by the pieces in the picture. The slide has a line, which is a crack and the other piece, you can see what is wrong.

Great set-- built by 4 yr old...Played with by All the kids!!
My 4-yr old grandson loves this set. He built it using the well-written instructions. He had a few challenges (which I think is great as he had to "use his brain to figure it out" as he proudly tells me. This is the great thing about LEGOS. The age ranges are usually so accurate and thus, kids don't get frustrated but kids can be challenged to "think".

Always a Winner
There's almost nothing not to like about legos except when I was a kid they had similar items called Minibricks and they were rubber- Made the most satisfying snap noise when taking apart - on par with bubble wrap popping! But back to Legos- you don't HAVE to make the kit- especially if you have other sets or even better a big bucket fo them-
