Good performer!
I purchased this unit to allow more flexibility for viewing options from our satellite TV system and our audio systems. The unit currently has a Hopper 3, and one Joey connected to Input 1 and 2. A DVD player is connected to Input 3. A Google Chrome streamer Is connected to Input 4. Output 1 feeds a large HD plasma TV in the living room. Output 2 feeds the HD LED set in the M. Bedroom, and another HD LED set in the kitchen via an amplified splitter. Output 3 feeds two 13 inch HD LED sets, one in the office and the other in a spare bedroom through an amplified spliter. Output 4 feeds tandem amplifiers that drives ceiling mounted speakers throughout the house and garage. The system allows any of the four sources to provide a signal to any TV or the amplifier. Picture quality is great! Joey 2 feeds three analog sets in the mother-in-law apartment via a distribution amplifier, and Joey 4 feeds another HD Plasma set in the sunroom. This is the coolest little gadget and opens up many viewing choices.

ZERO Stars.. Original matrix failed less than 8 months after purchase. Warranty replacement failed after only 15 minutes!!!!!
I cannot recommend this product... it may work well for 8 months or now even for 15 minutes, but I'm now 0 for 2 on this matrix, awaiting a reply from customer service. My second unit (the warranty replacement for my original unit) just had a power failure after only 15 minutes of use! At this point, I believe that they should simply refund my purchase price and let me buy some other unit. So what happened? The whole story thus far............. My original matrix worked really really well for approx 8 months, but then for no apparent reason, Output 1 failed entirely... Then approx 4 weeks later, Output 2 failed entirely. All 4 Inputs still worked fine. I contacted J-Tech via Amazon, and they quickly agreed to replace the matrix under the 1-year mfr warranty. I shipped the defective unit (at my own cost) to them on 7/5/2018, and the replacement arrived on 7/13/2018. I just plugged in the replacement unit, and it had a complete power failure after only 15 minutes. It worked perfectly for those 15 minutes, and then nothing......... all power dead, which is an entirely different problem from the first unit which I just returned. When working, I give the 4x4 matrix 4 Stars for OPERATION(the screen blackout on all outputs while switching sources is the only significant complaint), but the fact that 2 channels failed in 8 months would lead me to give it 1-2 Stars at best for DURABILITY. I had given J-Tech 5 Stars for CUSTOMER SERVICE, especially for Nathan promptness, politeness, and professionalism in all communication, but good service on a bad product is still bad overall.

Good product for HD resolutions, not for live situations
Like other reviews indicate, all the screens blink when you switch any input or output, likely because all the input and output signals have to resynch, which is why it loses a star. This switcher is therefore not useful for live situations. However, for my purposes, it is acceptable, and most importantly, it is so far, reliable. It's at its optimal when running strictly HD resolution (1920x1080), or when all outputs and inputs are all running at the same resolution. It does not do scan conversion, so when you have monitors that have different resolution limitations, the incompatible output will not work. I was reluctant to buy this product, but after dealing with the excellent J-Tech customer service for an hdmi audio extractor that gave me a lot of problems (which I eventually returned for a refund), I felt confident to try one of their other products. And I am glad I did. The unit does have a few quirks. The unit can get a little hot when it has all 4 ins and outs in operation. When the is no power to the unit (power strip off) the lights will sometimes briefly blink. That's a weird thing. When doing video capture through it, sometimes there's artifacts in the video, if you're trying to monitor your capture in a different monitor. If you switch off the monitor feed and only have one output going to your capture card, the artifacts go away. Anyhow, I would recommend to go directly from your source to your capture card, for a more stable signal.

My J-Tech is a delight to use--compared to the previous video router.
This J-Tech is a delight. I say this after using an Expert Connect 4x2 HDMI Spiltter for two years. I have a simple setup of two TVs 12 feet apart and a OTA antenna. I had to turn the far TV on first in order to not upset the near TV. The remote was so bad I resorted to switching by hand. Their support was non-responsive. After two years the Expert Connect died completely. So I bought the J-Tech. Even though it cost a lot more it is worth it. The J-Tech works perfectly no matter what TV or input I switch to. The remote is excellent. It makes the task of switching HDMI with a video router transparent and easy. "Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten."

Look no further the ultimate HDMI SWITCH/SPLITTER
I have used J-Tech products in the past and this has to be one of the best products yet. It can handle up to 4 input sources to 4 output sources and view any input on any or all outputs at the same time. Currently using 3 inputs (laptop, appleTv, security camera System) and output to (1x4 splitter 50' away 2x65" tvs and projector), monitor in a/v area, 43" led tv in separate room, 2x43" tvs w/ 1x2 splitter in two rooms. Sound plays on all tvs, no loss of picture quality, no lag. Works great in a business or home. Make sure you buy high quality hdmi cables. When power is turned off and back on each output defaults to last input source. Customer support is great, before I purchased wanted to make sure the setup would work using splitters down stream of output using 50' hdmi cables. They tested and responded back with the cables they tested and worked perfectly. Thank you J-Tech customer service.

Can't use it. Unable to connect Power Supply because it doesn't fit this Matrix Box
Received the wrong power supply in the package. The Amazon post states power supply is 12V 2.5A but the power supply received is a 12V and only 2A. The shaft is too long for screwing in this power supply and will not screw into the matrix box. Contacted J-Tech support who verified power supply should be 2.5A. Apparently someone at J-Tech included the wrong power supply in the delivery package. I was looking forward to use this switch but will now have to return it.

Worked great... until it didn't
20191224 UPDATE: 10-months after purchasing, 2 out of 4 outputs no longer functioned. It was still under warranty, but I didn't do anything about it; too busy with life. I've had it now for 27-months. It's still a 4x2 matrix that works well, but I need a 4x4. Next time I'll spend the coin, and hopefully get one that goes the distance. For the last 5 years I used a separate 4x1 input device connected to a 1x4 output device. It was rudimentary but cheap for my experiment in distributing HDMI to monitors spread throughout a large home. Runs are anywhere from 6 feet to 60 feet. At least one of those boxes stopped working so I researched replacements. This time I was willing to spend the big bucks but this reasonably priced device seemed to accomplish what I needed and more as a matrix (any source to any display) versus just a repeater of the same signal to all displays. So far it works great. My only complaint is the display is not quite right (can't see the game score), nor as clear (lower resolution) as if I connect a display direct to a source. That may be due to having one 720p in with 3 1080p displays. Typically the lowest resolution trumps all, this box seems to be no exception. One of these days I'll upgrade the 720p and hopefully see improvement across the matrix. Regardless, I hope this box lasts at least as long as my last experiment.

Clear Picture and Great Product
I recently remodeled an older (1930s) home and had all of my TV receivers, Blu-Ray Player, and RoKu run into a central closet. This 4 x 4 matrix is the perfect item to distribute the signals to the TVs I have across my house (I am using HDBaseT TXs and RXs to distribute the HD video signal and IR signals across the home). The 4 x 4 matrix switcher has been great to switch between the inputs to the various outputs across the home. I have only switched the matrix from inside the closet as I am still building out my IR system. My plan is to use a Logitech remote to universally switch the inputs from the various home locations. Overall, the product provides very clear signals to the three TVs I currently have running through the switch as well as the two receivers, Blu-Ray player, and RoKu. I am not a 4K expert but the picture is very clear and I would say there has been no difference in image from before I used the switch to after using the switch. As I continue to build out my system, I anticipate using more J-Tech products as they are a good product for the price.
