Great for mechanical or automotive use
This is a great water filled gage and doesnt give erratic readings in rugged conditions. I used one to monitor my brake vacuum in my 69 Grand Prix after installing an electric vacuum pump and canister to augment my braking system following a rear disc brake upgrade.

It does exactly what I need it to do.
The bushings included came in handy and worked perfectly. The gauge shows 21.5 inches HG at 7250โ elevation. Maximum achievable vacuum at this elevation is 23.1 inches HG. I would say that is pretty accurate using a small vacuum chamber. The gauge is just reflecting the capability of my vacuum pump. It arrived with 5 inches HG as a result of pressure differential from California. I simply had to lift the small black plug on top slightly to allow it to equalize. DO NOT cut the tip of the plug. If you do, the glycerin will leak out of the gauge. This gauge is a bit larger than my old one and easier to read. I donโt really need to know the exact inches of HG for my application. I only need to know that I have a good seal in my chamber. This gauge does that very well. I would buy this again.

Fails to reset
Initially the product indicated the correct pressure when tested against a simple test rig on a vacuum pump. Several weeks later, when the system onto which the meter was to be mounted was ready, the pointer was in the position shown. Going through the suggested reset procedure (removing the rubber stopper at the top) failed to reset the pointer. The gauge still reads pressure, but it's off. I've purchased another gauge, digital, to replace it. Manufacturing may have improved, but I won't be purchasing another such gauge.
