Used this to straight wire my security camera to my router. Easy to install, was just plug and play and I was in business.

I have a couple of Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 5 devices recently purchased (March 2020). Because I have wireless CCTV applications which use the same band (2.4GHz), the WiFi signal inside the house is not the cleanest and that impacts Alexa's video call quality. Looking at product description, I thought this would be brilliant as I could directly connect with Ethernet to get the best video call quality.This is an OTG dongle with MicroUSB, meaning it uses the connected device's 5V power to power the dongle itself. I purchased three of these and I tested all three with Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 5. I also tested these with Samsung tablets and phones with MicroUSB.I can confirm that this device does not function with Amazon Echo Show 5 and Echo Show 8 (the devices do not power up and no LED lights up. However, these aren't faulty as they do work with the Samsung tablets and phones, lighting up and successfully connecting to Ethernet.One Star because, the description specifically says it works with Echo Show and they don't. That's my primary motivation for the purchase. Hope this helps for others who specifically want to buy this for Echo Show.
