From the New York Times bestselling author of When Stars Are Scattered comes a Olympics-themed picture book that brings home the bacon . This hilarious story makes a great read-aloud for the 2021 Summer Games! Boomer the Pig has been training hard for the Animal Olympics, so when he loses his first race, he shrugs it off and cheerfully moves on. One event after another, Boomer keeps losing, and the frustration begins to get to him. But even after coming in last in every sport, there's no getting this Olympig down. It's just great practice for the Winter Games! This encouraging and funny story is for every kid who's ever been told "you can't win 'em all." "A humorous romp."โ Publishers Weekly Review: Perfect kid book - Great book for kids! So much fun! I had several kiddos read it back to back and they all loved it! Perfect for my Pre-Schoolers!!
Super cute book! This was wonderful for my children whose ages range from 2-5. Perfect for this time of year while we had been watching the 2016 Olympics on TV! Oh, and, the pages are a nice, heavy paper; not that thin stuff that comes in many paperbacks these days.

Funny story but book arrived damaged.
Was not happy that the book came damaged. I think my second graders will like this as a read aloud when we talk about the Olympics in May.

Perfect for Anytime (but especially during Olympics!)
This is such a cute book about doing your best - but not always "winning." I love it and so do my kids. I highly recommend it (and I've loved all the books by Victoria Jamieson so far - check them out!)

Great read aloud during the Olympics! My 1st graders loved it!It gave a springboard for a discussion on the Olympics and how to be a gracious winner and accept losing gracefully.

just okay
I bought this to use in my sports unit in my preschool classroom. It does have a message of perseverence. I wish it had a stronger ending. And all the commentary bubbles from the other pigs is supposed to be funny but reallly is just kind of rude. I really wish it had a stronger ending.
