USB Digital Microscope, Teslong 10X to 200X Magnification Camera with Stand, Portable Handheld Electronic Coin Magnifier, Soldering Camera Ear Otoscope

I was looking for a cheap electronic microscope and read several reviews of what's out there and settled on this particular brand because I did not find any really negative things said about it. It was all metal, waterproof, has the ability to focus and magnify easily, had a metal stand and can connect to both PC and Android. It was also very inexpensive so I bit. For the extremely low price I paid, it's an excellent device and I'm glad I bought it. The image is way better than I expected and the addition of LED lighting means I never have to worry about setting up lights around the object I'm magnifying. The stand is metal but ever so slightly lighter than it should be so I do have to be careful about the camera tipping over now and then but that's a user training issue, not necessarily a product flaw. And you can use it as a webcam since it is, after all, a camera. One thing it's missing and something you have to take note of is that there's no bump or nub on the long straw-like camera tube so that you immediately know which way "UP" is so you do have to rotate the camera every time you use it to orient it so I put a small segment of painters tape (a thin blue sliver) on the end of the camera to know how to orient it properly. Otherwise, it's not really that big of an issue. I'm very impressed with this camera/microscope and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for such a device.

The resolution is quite good, better than I expected. The focus knob at the end is very handy. The included 2-in-1, USB-A/micro USB-B adapter is very clever and cool. It also came with a small USB-C to USB-A adapter (I'm not able to test) that looks similar to USB C Adapter, Rankie 2-Pack Hi-speed USB-C to USB-A 3.0 Adapter for USB Type-C Devices but has no brand name. Regarding the CD included with the item: As of the date of this review (April 20, 2017), the CD has a more up-to-date Windows program "Teslong Camera.exe" than the ones downloadable from the several URL's printed in the instruction booklet or on the box itself. There's no "driver" and no software setup per se, just a stand-alone program to run. I tested on my Windows 10 desktop. There's a second Windows program called Amcap.exe made by Microsoft dated 2014 but I found "Teslong Camera.exe" to have a better user interface and more features. I did not try the Android app, nor the VLC media viewing program included for Macintosh computers. There's a small, transparent plastic ring that came in the box but there is nothing that indicates what it is for. I used the Teslong Camera to take the attached photo of it. The instructions do say very prominently, in red, "This device is not intended for medical use or personal inspection." I did buy this because the Amazon item description says it can be used as an otoscope (ear canal/eardrum inspection). I have no medical training but I think it is perfectly usable to see if someone has a foreign object lodged in there. It reaches deep enough for my purposes. I do wish, as someone else commented, that it had some physical mark or grove to show which direction is "up", but this is a minor point. Recommended.

I was impressed with the solid construction and performance. 8 internal LED illuminate the subject. I am using it for checking solder joints on bad PCB's. The magnification is adequate for me - see photos. It sits on the desk and I move the subject around and an take photos on my Mac. Uses the Photo Booth app - select the camera in the Photo Booth application menu on the Mac and go to full screen for really big pictures Its mechanically stable and the adjustment bracket works well. Very useful tool for me. Wish I had bought one earlier. It comes with various attachments to be able to view print on paper etc This appeared to be the best value for me... Came with attachments for a PC and an android. Does not function with iPhone or iPad I just noticed the light adjust in the cord. Even better.

Yet another phenomenally made-in-china-piece of crap. Miniature disc which cannot be loaded into the computer, an incredibly long search for software which will run the device (because of course the download from Teslong is crap), and finally, the camera cannot be focused. After examining the product with an ordinary magnifying glass I discovered that the camera end of the tube was crimped and deformed. Isn't quality control wonderful? Too bad Teslong doesn't use any. This deserves negative 5 stars. I'm returning the product, but I should get double my money back to make up for the aggravation.

I have really mixed feelings about this one. It's sorta like seeing your ex mother-in-law drive off a cliff in your new Ferrari. Had to return it. Not because it didn't work because it DID work just fine although not having some kind of auto focus would have been a great plus. As it is, you have to first get the subject in frame at the proper zoom level, then twist the end with one hand to focus. This makes things really clumsy. The other problem I had was in the swivel base configuration. The way they designed it, if you wanted to aim the wand straight down, like perpendicular to a coin on a table, you wouldn't be able to center the view more than maybe 1/4" inch from the very edge of the chrome base. Bad ergonomic design. Really awkward to use. If you held it by hand it wouldn't really be steady enough because the magnification is so high. It IS a quality instrument, it's just mediocre in it's execution. Just sayin'

This is a great little tool and is somewhat unique in that it has a focus adjustment on the back end of the probe. The closer the tip of the probe is to the object and focused, the higher the magnification, farther away, lower magnification. The focus adjustment allows a very broad range of magnifications to be achieved. The internal illumination is adjustable and works very well. The long and narrow geometry allows access to tight spaces where clearance is limited. The stand is sturdy and easy to use and there are several attachments that can be used to look into tight spaces like at back-tooth, for example. The only issue I had was with the Mac software that was recommended, which was not particularly user-friendly. It works, but needs some effort. It is also unfortunate that it cannot be used with iPhones. Friends with non-apple phones and PCs have had fewer software issues. For the price, you can't beat the functionality of this microscope!

I like it a lot for the price point. Hard to adjust while in the lightweight bracket without it moving and the bracket could stand to be a little bit larger, possibly a telescopic section but it is worth the price point. I gave it 5 stars because it met the expectations. Let's face it, if you want a $1500 digital microscope then buy one! If you want something fun to allow you to really get in there and see up close and you don't want to break the bank ... this might be for you :)

I loved this thing so much, I bought 4 more. I use this in a commercial, mechanical and electrical inspection, role. It has been great for getting those extremely close in shots of wear and my clients love the reports I'm making with it. I bought the extra ones to hand out to my team, so they could maintain the new standard that has been set. Cons: - No external indicator for camera orientation. I had to figure it out and sharpie the outside for ease of use. - The base is ok for generic use, but I had to upgrade to a proper inspection table with alternative methods for holding the camera - Some of my team members have had issues with getting the camera app to work on iOS (no issues for me on Android) - The Windows program doesnt allow camera feed to pass to external monitors. It only works on the primary screen (laptop)
