Does this take elite darts, and vice versa.. does elite guns take mega darts?

No, it only takes the red MEGA darts. The elite darts are half the size and wouldn't make contact with the fly wheels properly.

How long do the batteries last?

No batteries were included, but the energizer brand one have Last me about 4 months so far

does it work with clips?

No it has its “own clip”. The orange circular thing in the middle is it’s “clip. It holds 20 bullets I believe.

What is frustration free packaging and why is it $30 cheaper?

It's just a plain cardboard box.
