Since I exhaustively researched all the reviews to help me decide on buying this tv, I’ll submit one myself. Packaging was great, solid, and two Amazon delivery guys helped get it out of the box. I mounted it on the wall with some help. Set up normal, the android platform is good no complaints. It’s medium intuitive. Figuring things out just takes a little time. I chose the TV because it claimed to be bright. We live top floor with lots of windows, so brightness was very important. This tv is the brightest I’ve found. Corner to corner it fills excellent. It’s vivid and really impressive. Clearly a better picture than our other 4K tvs. The hdmi arc connects our 5.1 sound system. No lag and it picks up automatically on power up. It’s able to use the original tv remote to control the sound. The only gaming we play basic kid stuff so I can’t really comment as to the true performance. With my Apple TV connection it defaults to 60 rather than 120. Through the android platform I believe it generates at 120. The Hey google feature is hit or miss. If the tv is a little loud, it doesn’t pick up as much. Otherwise I don’t find it to be glitchy. At the price point, it’s an amazing tv. The picture is awesome. The test will be longevity. I’ve had it up and running for about 4 months. I recommended to my brother-in-law and and would recommend to you.

I am writing this full review because if you are shopping for an amazing TV under $1000, then this TV and Hisense are for you. Understand this first, I am VERY fussy about TV picture, color, accuracy as well as great features. I also rsearch like crazy but in this case, it was an easy decision because I already had a Hisense 8 series 55 and a 45 for our son. They were so great, I had to get the 65" for myself in our main living room/tv room. I dont have to tell you about the specs (QLED, NIts, etc) as thats readily available and a million youtube reviews. I want to tell you first hand what I see. Colors are amazingly acurate. Blues, Reds, indoors, outdoors. No motion blu I can detect, no ghosting, blacks are BLACK. Skin tone is great. And detail ? You see every whisker, pore, reflection, mortar on brickwork. I have never seen duch detail even over and above my prior models. Setup was a breeze and the way I set my color details, everything, even movies like Top Gin Maverick look live. Many people like movie mode but as a former videographer, I like the LIVE look. Thus, my settings bring out that SHOT on video look. Sound is awesome and it was a breeze paring to blutooth earbuds. - NOte - My Bose QC's didnt like the connection. They worked but drop out. But my Boltunes work amazing. Okay on to my settings - tastes may vary but from top to bottom, here are mind Go to settings Picture Backlight Local dimming - low Level 82 Light sensor - off Back to picture Picture Mode Standard Contrast - 91 Brghtness - 63 Color - 48 Tint - R1 Sharpness - 39 Scoll down - Apply picture settings - choose all sources (you can do this by source so for example, if you do this fro streaming , you can adust different for broadcast or HDMI input Back to picture Scoll down Select Advanced Settings Overscan - off color temp - Medium Motion enhancement - off Motion clearness - off Noise reduction - low Digial Noise reduction - low Active contrast - low Filmaker mode auto - off Color space - native Back to picture Apply to all sources again You are done Now maybe its not quite right for you. first, understand what each setting does and when you change things like color or tint, DONT change more than 1 or 2 increments at a time. Example, My color is reduced a tad to avoid oversaturation of color. Its a small change but makes a different. Tint is set to R2 (which is 2 dots higher in red than middle) because otherwise, you may be too far into GREEN which makes flesh tones off. Its that sensitive Best of luck to all and hope this helps

I'm about 3 months in with this TV and have not had any issues, and it's on probably 6 hours a day. No dead pixels, and a pretty stable panel from edge to edge. Amazing picture with the right source. Not too great upscaling 720p content (tall order for any TV), but great at upscaling 1080p content. Great black levels and super bright. Not quite OLED levels on the blacks obviously, but it makes up for that in brightness that OLEDs lack. Colors from an HDR source really pop. The viewing angle does leave a lot to be desired, but that's not exaclty new news, and not an issue for me as the seating area for viewing in our room is also fairly narrow. Well built, plastic but very sturdy. Nice thin bezels give it a great look hanging above my fireplace (shielded from heat). Very pleased with this TV. Don't take it from me. Check out tech and A/V review sites rankings on this TV. I think I read every single one before I bought it.

*9/10/22 - HiSense support resolved my issue. If you're having the problem of blurred text using 120hz go to Picture setting, then Advanced Picture Settings and change the option to "Optimize for text clarity". The other mode uses some form of blurring ir aliasing to smooth images. The text option is native and doesn't apply that garbage. *Latest update 9/1/22 - TV automatically updated itself today and now the 120hz blurred screen issue has returned, no settings changes resolve it. Not happy!!! How does an update break something that was fixed in the last update!? Called in and was told they will email me a firmware. **Since writing this update the company support has reached out to me and I spoke with one of the developers. Good customer service! We'll see if we can get it resolved... *Latest update 3/22/22 - The other day an update was released for the TV and now it finally displays 120hz correctly!!! I've also had no issues as of late with signal detection, it's early but time will tell. So far looking like they fixed some major complaints. Upgrading my rating *Update - a year or so later* - this TV is a piece of junk, do NOT buy! Sure the picture looks good but it has a serious flaw detecting input!! For example, if I set my computer to download something that is going to take a few hours if I turn the TV off it will not reestablish the signal to the PC when I turn it back on!!! I have to physically power down the computer and boot it up from scratch then select the input when the keyboard lights up. It's maddening and what if I don't know if the download or install is completed yet? Haaaate this. Plus there's the dead pixels that started popping up I mentioned earlier. Lastly there's that damn annoying high pitched fluctuating chirp you can hear in a quiet room when it's turned off. Buy something better! I'm beginning to hate this TV so much. *Update 6 months later* - over this time 5-6 dead pixels have appeared, most not too noticeable but one lost noticeable but still only at certain times. Never was able to get 120hz refresh rate to work using a PC like everyone else has reported (RTX 3080, HDMI 2.1 8K/4K 120hz cable), etc) as text get all fuzzy/distorted. Have to run it at 60hz. Had a number of times where it went black for a second then came back to normal. So, some issues but overall it has a fantastic picture and is the brightest screen I've ever seen. Would I recommend for the price? Absolutely. Would I buy again? Mmmm probably not. I'd probably spend another $600-$700 for something more high end. Still very happy with it, just letting me down more as time goes on. Using this for my Flight Simulator setup. Changed out to this from a super ultrawide monitor that I loved but was just too vertically narrow which wasn't as immersive. Been really enjoying this screen. Zero dead pixels and awesome picture quality. Bright as heck! Colors are very vivid.

I purchased this TV in Nov. 2021, and was better than anything else I compared it to with other TV's at this price at the time. While I have a list of great things to say about this TV, I also have a list of bad things to say about this TV as well. Everything looked good on paper at first... then after a year or so... it just all went downhill from there. Pros: -Great picture settings, very bright, colorful and clear -Decent user interface and isn't too complicated to use. -Tons of configuration settings and adjustments to display and sound -Great smart connectivity with Google/Amazon -Plenty of HDMI, USB, Ethernet, Audio, and other ports. -Nice Display switch over settings depending on the source being used such as games, media, movies, etc.. -Great for playing games and watching movies of all genres. Cons: -Not even 1-Year of owning this TV, a dead pixel presented itself right in the middle of the screen one day and it looks like there is a bug/fly just chillin on my tv screen at all times. I've gotten used to it now, but every once in a while it does irritate me. -The voice button has never worked on this remote for me... I have to tell google to relay the command to my tv in order for it work. -The Audio is not great on the TV of course but the real issue is the lack of compatibility with other audio sources... because of the display source switch over, sometimes the Audio will cut out, and depending on what you select of the format will dictate the available input/output selections. -Optical Audio port on the back of tv became loose after the second time i plugged anything into it. -The Display settings will sometimes spasm out of control if you have auto-previews toggled on your streaming apps like amazon/netflix. -The tv never closes any of the apps and the one that comes preinstalled doesnt work, the app store has a poor selection of these as well so the apps never close and cause the TV to bog down get very slow. You have to reset the TV several times in order to get back to normal but at least this only happens to me about every other month. -The ads on the home screen flood your screen with irrelevant or disliked material regardless of how you choose your preferences, and some preferences are locked out from editing entirely such as disney... so you are forced to see whatever they want you to see. -Probably the most poorly made/designed remote i've ever used, it is very flimsy and fragile. After a couple times of it being dropped on accident from a height of less than 3-4ft, I now have it wrapped in electrical tape just to keep the batteries from falling out. I have also had to take apart the remote a few times and re-adjust the placement of the control board in order to operate the tv. -Before the remote got damaged, the buttons would either double or triple click anything you select, so typing words or navigating through any streaming app has been a beating... its even worse now that the remote has been dropped a few times. I've always liked Hisense and this TV definitely surprised me when i first purchased it, and was proud to own it for some time... now after the constant problems of owning it for just 2 years, I'm definitely skeptical of owning another hisense tv after this. -Would i recommend this TV for the price of $1,000?.... No, i would not, there is definitely better options out there for the price i paid for this. -Do I recommend future Hisense TVs?... probably not after owning this one, especially with such a fast decline in operational quality in only 2 years of owning it.

Installation only took 15 minutes and setup went fast with automatic firmware update during intial setup. Android TV (not Google TV at the present time) is very nice and super responsive but I normally don't use native apps because I have my Roku ultra connected. This TV is my new screen for PC gaming even though I haven't purchased it based on it's exclusive gaming ability (VRR and native 120Hz on 4K) plus G-sync. What turned out to purchasing this TV for me started from last year and after one unsuccessful TV I bought directly from a popular retail store and eventually forced me to dig as deep as I can with all available options and my financial limit on investing again for a new TV. My unsuccessful experience last year with a Sony Bravia (none OLED) made me to be quite cautious about the name brands and instead, just look forward to the practical usage reports and spec differences. So I went on comparing almost every OLED, Qled and... TV models from 2020 to 2021 by Sony, Samsung, LG, TLC and Hisense. I compared models with each other apple to apple and then started watching YouTube videos and finally reading people's review on reliable websites. That's why I am doing my best here for anyone who might go the same route as I did. The fact is, ever since the pandemic on March 2020, my life has fundamentally changed to the way I'm spending tens of hours more in my place than I ever used to do and a big portion of that time goes right in front of the TV (now thankfully, this TV). So long story short, if you don't want to spend over 2K for a 4K TV, the only big decision would be if you like QLED or OLED? There are obvious differences between these two screen types and each one has it's own weekness and straight against the other but at the end of the day, it's quite depends on where you are planning to watch the TV and what types of contents you are mostly planning to watch (like SD, HD or gaming or streaming and...). If you want to experience less frustration or disappointments, you'd better to spend time and pay attention to important factors before paying for a TV. The popular TV makers usually make TVs for all identical usage case but they don't categorize their products based on the factors I just encountered here but the technology has been used. What I like to add about this dreamy TV here is what I couldn't find directly in any source I have ever studied and that's the ability to upscale SD channels or SD movies. I spent a lot of time watching TV channels and basically I have TV subscription and cable box (and yes, I wouldn't consider the traditional TV channels line up to be HD but high quality SD like what you get from watching DVDs) so this TV does what I expected and I wasn't quite sure about until I could see it by myself. What I see now with the TV channels I have used to watch, is quite impressive to the point that I can certainly say it's exceeded my expectations. I knew this TV is on par with Samsung Q90a when it comes to HDR content with slightly better brightness but I didn't expect to watch SD content to this level of clarity and sharpness. Just keep two things in mind that you might need to add a soundbar to the sound system because this is like most of other brands come with limited internal speaker capabilities and for sound you might want to spend a little bit extra time to choose the right model as you get what you pay for as usual. I have had my boss soundbar already with my previous TV and I just swap it out and connect it to this one and finally, no TV is perfect right out of the box so you might want to learn how to do the right picture adjustments in order to get the most out of your TV capabilities. The result is not like day and night but it's still quite impressive if you know what variables are essential to change and how you should adjust them to your preferences. You are not going to need screen calibration with this TV model (Hisense U8G) based on what I experienced. I should empesive my utmost happiness in doing business with Amazon as a prime member for such impressive and fast shipping and handling from the moment I ordered this TV because it only took one day and when delivered, there were two nice guys who called me a few minutes before arriving and then they brought the TV inside my place carefully which made me very grateful. If you have done your research enough and still on the edge, I would highly recommend this TV based on my personal experience. Now it's time to have fun! Update 8/19/21- I am adding this update here for those who are serious in buying a good and affordable smart TV. Did I know where the Hisense TV originated? Yes, I was doing research for months before buying my new TV and honestly I am not a fan of chinese products at all But there are a few expectations and this turned out to be one of them. My overall rating for this TV is still 5 stars, all because I can't give it any more. New smart TVs are complicated and there are menus and adjustments and calibrations everywhere. Don't confuse yourself by just evaluating a product only by reading the reviews. This TV is not only one of the best available smart TVs on 2021 in the market but it might be the best TV for gaming PCs and consoles out there hands down.

My 65U8G was delivered late yesterday; thus far all I can say is "Thank You Hisense". Set up, by me, (63yo), couldn't have been easier. The first thing I did was to find an HDR 4K nature documentary, mind you, this is right out of the box, having not even looked at the picture settings, SHIZAAM! Honestly, I see no reason to change picture settings, it's perfect for me right out of the box. I'm not a Gamer, I do not have a home theater sound system, I don't know VRR from eARC, I only know that for my daily TV viewing, this TV is fantastic! You can not go wrong with the 65U8G. I would very strongly recommend this TV to anyone considering a TV purchase. Hisense, thanks again. EDIT- I'm now 2 weeks into owning this TV, and I've gotta say I am thrilled with this purchase. This is the best TV I've ever owned, and thanks to Amazon Prime Days, I got an incredible price. EDIT - Dec '22 a very annoying issue is Bluetooth. When paired to my Bose Sport Buds, or my Hisense sound bar, the audio "cuts out" for about a second, every 3 or 4 seconds. This occurs in YouTube TV as well as YouTube. Several months back, Hisense support instructed me to "unplug the TV for 60 seconds". That solved the problem. Until the next day when I turned on the TV. I guess they expect one to "power off for 60 seconds" every day. If Bluetooth audio is important to you, I'm not sure I'd recommend this 65U8G. Edit - June '23, Bluetooth audio "drop out" is still an issue, (Bose Sport Buds, Vizio SB3820 sound bar), I use my buds at 4am, for a few hours so as to not disturb, that being the case, I still say if Bluetooth audio is important to you, think twice. Otherwise I'm still very impressed with this TV. The picture is fantastic. I see negativity online, (maybe (?) gamers), but I would still recommend the U8G to anyone. Would love to have a 65U8H, but now I see the U8K coming. Hmm. It is July 29, 2025. This TV is still delivering a beautiful picture. Zero issues/complaints.

So this was my first above 1000nit tv/monitor, im use to 400nit hdr which wasent impressive at all, it was slightly brighter than my sdr monitor and had slightly nicer colors, this tv though actually makes hdr content pop, ive been rewatching some movies and tv shows in hdr and its such a nicer experience, gaming on what few games have hdr is also amazing, i can now say i absolutely love hdr, the colors on this tv are amazing, the black levels are the best ive ever seen, ive had VA and ips monitors before and i love the deep blacks of va, ill never go ips again cause i cant stand the glow, ive also had 2 different ips monitors with bad light bleed, none of my va panels ever had light bleed, and this tv has no noticeable light bleed whatsoever, so im very pleased, the motion blur aint bad if you know va panel motion blur and are ok with it, ive had a really bad va panel with motion blur that made me feel sick, and ive had fast va panels where its still noticable(compared to ips) but usable, this is totally usable as long as you use 120fps, if you change tv to 60fps and turn off game mode oh my god that motion blur is the worst thing ive ever seen, also im dissapointed for some reason this tv wont allow 4k 120fps with hdr, but works with 1440p 120fps hdr, so im always on 1440p now, and the upscaling is so good on this monitor it looks great, so yeah i highly recommend this tv, you really cant get anything of this quality in this price range.
