Sharp and well made sickle
The sickle design is perhaps the most efficient method at trimming or pruning plants. The curved blade and pulling motion allow the almost effortless cutting action. The machete is sometimes overkill in cutting power and effort when it comes to green branches and the sharpness of the machete may not be enough for clean cuts. Clippers will do the job at trimming green branches but the motion of gripping and regripping can grow tiresome after hours of work. A very sharp sickle will cut with a slight flick of the wrist and the lightweight sickle is very efficient. The sickle arrives very sharp and is ready to cut. The handle and blade are of good quality and the blade is sharpened with a chisel grind, meaning only one side is sharpened. Clean and oil the blade after use to prevent corrosion. I'm very glad that I bought this sickle.

Slice of Excellence - So Sharp, It’s Dangerous!
Wow, where do I even start? This sickle is so sharp that it cut me before I even had a chance to use it! I was just opening the packaging, minding my own business, and bam—my hand met the precision of this blade. One trip to the ER and a few stitches later, I can confidently say: this thing means BUSINESS. Now, I know what you’re thinking: 'Why give a product that made you bleed 5 stars?' Easy. Because this sickle is simply too good at its job. If it can slice through my hand that effortlessly, imagine what it’ll do to weeds! 😅 Whether you’re looking to do some serious gardening or live out your best Grim Reaper cosplay, this bad boy won’t disappoint. Just make sure to keep a first-aid kit handy—you’re gonna need it! 🔪💥 10/10 would recommend (but maybe open it while wearing armor next time)!

Very sharp, very effective, but probably not OSHA approved
This is an extremely sharp and effective but can be dangerous to use. This sickle (although it is not called a sickle, I believe that is what it would be called in western cultures) is very sharp, easy to use (stooping or on your hands and knees) and cuts through grass, vines and undergrowth, including briars with ease, but requires you to get close to the work. It would be quite easy to cut your leg or opposing arm if you start day dreaming and it could be a serious injury. A large area would be easier to treat with a weed eater tool but for small areas that requires surgical treatment, it is great. I use it to clear out veggie or herb plants without impacting plants right nearby as you can simply slide the blade into tight places and remove plants on one side of the blade without damaging things on the backside. Just don't leave this laying around for the kids or grandkids to find.

Most under-utilized farm and garden tool
I got this sickle for a landscaping job I stumbled upon that involved the removal of thick, resilient and poisonous vines. It handled and continues to handle wonderfully. I am not in any way affiliated with this company and this is not an incentivized review. The sickle seems to be very common in asian countries and I didn't really start to see their use until I began spending more time in Hawai'i, which has a lot of asian cultural influence. Even the Ace hardwares here have them, however many are designed for lighter weeding and gardening tasks. This sickle in all seriousness was perhaps the best 20 bucks I've ever spent. For vines, I feel that it is more effective than a machete since it cuts and pulls. I even use this for light chopping, up to 1/2" thick green wood, not dry though. Although it's sturdy, I don't think it's full tang (meaning that blade blank doesn't run down inside the entire length of the handle), so don't get too crazy with the chopping. The blade is ground/beveled on one edge only (like loppers) and obviously the blade itself is curved so sharpening takes a little consideration but is still easy. You can use a round metal file or perhaps a round puck-type whetstone. I use a tungsten carbide tool I purchased on you know where that works wonders but takes a little practice. It's made by Sharpal and here's the link: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L8VKZO0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I don't have affiliation with this company either. The only thing I wish this tool had was a sheath that fit on a belt, but that would just be icing on the cake. This tools efficacy helped to open my eyes to the world of sickles and sickle machetes. My next landscaping tool purchase will be a full-tang sickle machete made by Silky, the professional arborist company, since it can handle chopping better. Way to go Zenport and thank you for a wonderful tool!

Works very well so far. Take time to put a real edge on the blade.
I worked pretty hard to put a proper edge on this sickle, from the factory it has just a "factory edge". I used a file that is rounded on one side, that worked quickly, then used a scythe stone. It still was not quite enough, but it made a good start for today. I have to (see photos) trim this wild flower patch every fall, and I used a lopper in the past years. This sickle went about 3 or 4 times faster then using my trusty lopper. Don't get carried away with speed in trimming, this is like a small sword in your hand and can hurt you. I wash the sickle after used, and rub a thin layer of some sort of machine or gun oil on the blade. I put a drop on each side at the base of the handle and let the oil soak inside the blade and handle to prevent future rust. Sharpen before each use, or struggle with a dull blade.

Excellent balance and sharpness—ideal for the harvests that feed the masses. This sickle is easy to use, even during extended periods of collective labor. Be warned, however: the blade is so sharp that I cut myself just removing the packaging! So far, I’ve used it to clear thick weeds and even small poplars in areas that can’t be mowed, and it has performed exceptionally well. A solid tool.

Good shape of blade and handle. It does well to clean up around the bottom of the small trees that we planted. The one thing that is lacking is the hardness of the steel. It is very soft which lends to easy sharpening but sharpening often. The shape of the blade does well but really does need a sheath.
