VERY INSIGHTFUL BOOK ON NLP METHODS!!
I really enjoyed reading this book and learned a lot about NLP. I think it's very important for everyone to read this book and become well versed in NLP. The author does a great job giving the history of NLP, recent finding, explains the different components of NLP and how people use NLP to manipulate people and control situations. Everyone should be armed with this information to protect themselves from being manipulated or taken advantage of. The book also does a great job of explaining the different positive uses of NLP such as in businesses and organizations. I really appreciated the chapter summaries at the end to hone in on the main points. Five stars!!

Not "Dark," Not "Mind Control" Just Great Influence
The title of the book is wrong in two ways. First, I wouldn't call the information in this book as dark. There isn't anything that could be called bad. It's just the scientific application of principles that are well known. Secondly, no, you can't control anybody's mind. Influence, yes. Control, no. If that were possible to control others' minds, then every sales person in the world would be very rich. The publisher probably just wanted the title to grab people's attention. But it's just a well-written & useful book with some great suggestions that will help you be more influential. And honestly, you can *help* others with these ideas!

POSITIVE DISCUSSION OF NLP AMAZON SHIPPING ADDRESS ERROR
I received this book from a neighbor who had it delivered incorrectly. The address label printed wrong. The printed chopped off half the address, so it was delivered to an address guessed by the carrier. I don't know why this was not corrected by the amazon robots or LogRhythm.Anyway, the book is about NLP and spends many early pages discussing the philosophy and ethics of NLP. NLP is by nature deceptive and a product of critical deconstructive theory and is reminiscent of the kinds of things invented by DARPA in mind control. Richard Bandler has been promoting it in traveling lectures like an evangelist or snake oil salesman.

Very thorough and interesting
Got to be honest - the title almost scared me away from buying this book. I don't fancy the "dark" stuff. Kind of freaks me out. So I'm a little confused why he title the book this way. In the beginning the writer mentions that dark NLP is not very above board and such, but then what follows in the book is nothing that is dark or manipulative (in a bad way) in my opinion. Anyway, I've been wanting to learn about NLP for years, and this was an excellent introduction. I especially found the summaries at the end of every chapter to be very helpful. The writer definitely knows his stuff, so if you want an intro to NLP, check out this book.

Could’ve been shorter
This is a garbage book. I read a ton and this thing felt like it was written by a child. Just overall bad… really painfully bad. Took a very long time to say very little. I found myself skimming through it in search of useful info to no avail. No entertainment value, no humor, and not even useful. Can’t say enough how terrible this purchase was. Author owes me a couple hours of my time back, not to mention the cost of this garbage book.

Powerful!
I disagree with some of the other comments. Worst case scenario this is an incredible introduction to NLP. I loved the section for business. I tried to learn some of this on the internet in the past, but this lays out some great stuff. This is a book I'll have to reread regularly to grasp and understand. Ad this to your library.

Practical NLP book for beginners
Personally, I like NLP, though some people see it as pseudoscience. Here this book is going to help you reassure others. Today, as the author points out, dark psychology can create more negative impacts like manipulations. This novel, however, focuses mainly on the positive elements. This book looks at how convincing is going to be a good idea. E.g., there are certain careers where you need to impress someone to succeed. Jobs in sales, politics, parenting, medicine, etc. Any of these professions will benefit from persuasion to reach the desired ends. I appreciated the author's emphasis on the good aspects.I find this book to be really informative.
