Are the bits themselves magnetic?

The bits are not magnetized and the flexible extension is nonmagnetic, great if you work on magnetic tape equipment or have non magnetic applications. The handle is magnetic and will transfer magnetism through bits when they are in handle.

Is this the new version? Its 10 dollars more compare if you order it on its site.

This is indeed the new version. We do our best to offer affordable prices where we can, but it's ultimately decided by market forces. Since it costs us more to host the kit on Amazon, the price must reflect that to compensate.

Are the magnets in the case of this toolkit (hold the bit case together and holding the bit case to the canvas pack) safe to leave around hard drives?

Technically, yes, I would think it would be quite safe. But I wouldn't intentionally place it next to any hard drive, especially for an extended period of time.

If you buy it off of amazon, does it still have the warranty?
