I have yet to wash these, just got them yesterday and wearing a pair today, but they seem to be not midcalf, they're almost over the calf, so I'm sure they'll shrink maybe 1/4" or so. But if you're wearing a taller boot, not a "hiker" they're perfect. Nice and warm, and not too thick, and you slide in and out of your boots easily because of that.
