Liked the first one so much I bought a second!
I have had large and small air purifiers for a year and recently decided to buy two smaller units for bedrooms. I chose this Winix model because my husband has larger purifiers of this brand at work and likes them. I couldn’t be more pleased! I got one and then a week later a second. Both are great and well exceed my expectations. They work well, are easy to use and I love how they show you current “air quality”. The day I set it up in my daughters room the light showed amber at first which confirmed what I thought. My room showed blue...until I started moving things out of my closet kicking up unseen dust and it went red! Both cleared the air pretty quickly then moved down to a quiet mode. Sleep mode is great, and much quieter than both the large and small air purifiers we already had. Automatic is a great function too. These have made a big difference to hayfever and dust allergies for those in the family who suffer. I also like that the plasma function clears viruses and bacteria! I definitely give these five stars and I will likely buy a third for my oldest to take when they are off to Uni in the autumn.

Great product much bigger than expected
I wanted to use this to clean the air in my house as we’d got a new pet. I did a bit more research and realise there’s a few things I need to research better before running it. I don’t notice any noise. I had a great deal buying on prime day which meant it has great value for money being one of the best on the market. I can’t tell you if it purified the air because I decided I wanted to return it and research it more. There were so many modes on this, including sleep mode, but I wish I’d check the specs better before buying as it needs to be so far from walls, at a certain height etc and I hadn’t realised it couldn’t be on a window, so it’s tricky to fit in a smaller space. It looks sleek but it is so much bigger than I was expecting! My fault for not checking the specs properly !

Great for hay fever sufferers..would recommend.
3 weeks in..and we’re impressed. We bought it as my husband’s hay fever was really affecting his sleep. From the first night he noticed a great improvement and was thrilled. It’s not too big so stores under my dressing table; cleverly it assesses the clarity of the air and adjusts to suit; it’s not to noisy at all as mostly it stays on blue, which is the lowest setting but you can choose a night mode which is even quieter. I’ve just cleaned the filter, which was really easy. We keep our windows and door closed and turn it on after tea. It quietly cleans the air ready for bed time. An added bonus is that the room stays much cleaner..no windows open obviously helps too. Well worth the money.

Seems to be working, will be interested to see any longer-term effects
We live in a very old terraced house. In winter, things are generally pretty damp regardless of how well we think we'd sealed doors and windows. We've bought this to improve air quality and minimise the risk of mould or anything else unpleasant taking hold. It seems to be working so far, and the auto air-quality detection I was quite cynical about prior to buying does kick in every time we're doing something like frying in the other room, or kicking up dust moving stuff around, so it's obviously not just marketing fluff! The unit is sat right next to me but it isn't so noisy I can't hear the TV on low, and the night-time mode is barely audible at all.

Don’t expect miracles
I chose this due to its simplicity - I don’t want another connected device with an awful app that will stop working when its developers abandon it - as well as the value/longevity of the filters. In almost a year of using this, however, I can’t say I have noticed any change in the room’s air quality, and auto mode has only ever changed from the default low setting a handful of times. Every couple of weeks I open it up and there’s a sprinkling of dust inside. It’s doing something, at least, but whether that’s enough to justify buying another filter, I’m not sure. The downside of its design is the lack of any real air quality data. I don’t know how good the sensor is, and it may be better in manual mode. For some reason the same low setting in manual mode is more powerful than in auto mode, which doesn’t make sense. Anything above low is noisy, and in manual mode it’s a hassle to keep adjusting. I’ll probably give it another chance, but wouldn’t rush to buy another.

Had for over a year - still working well.
I purchased this air purifier over a year ago as we have a problem with the neigbour's woodburner smoke coming into the house. I also purchased a PM2.5 monitor to measure the extent of the problem we have with the smoke. I can confirm that when this air filter is on, I can see the PM2.5 levels on the monitor dropping down significantly, e.g., if you put the air filter on full blast in one room with doors and windows closed, the PM2.5 level can drop from around 40 to under 5 in 3-4 minutes. I normally have the air purifier on continuously at a lower setting to maintain lower PM2.5 levels. I am now considering buying an additional air purifier (and will likely buy the same one again), as this one on its own cannot manage PM2.5 levels in the whole house given the significant smoke problem we have, but I definitely recommend as I think it is very effective for its size.

Great- but can be dangerous to birds
This is a good compact purifier with good auto mode. Filter lasts about 6 months for us and is easy to change. WARNING. We have just lost our beloved parrot which developed breathing issues. Do not use the ionic feature if you have birds or asthma. This feature can be switched off.

Clean air.
I have an allergy to organic matter, and l cough frequently. Since buying this air purifier there is a noticeable difference. There is a night setting which means it runs at night without disturbing our sleep. We put it on to full in the morning and the thing gets to work filtering and purifing, the air quality is better without needing to open the window. It sits in the corner of the room it's about the size of a waste paper basket.
