Necessary for certain water filter systems
I was assembling my own reverse osmosis system that would work with a single tube faucet. So, I needed an air-gap for the drain. This fits exactly what I intended.

Either due to poor design or poor workmanship
It's very expensive for what it is. But I bought it any way for convenience during busy time remodeling. However it leaked from the get go and I ended up spending more time trouble shooting than if I were to build one from parts from hardware store (and would have been much cheaper too). So where it leaked? The top chamber the red inlet leads to is not molded in one piece. The chamber was closed on top using a top plate which was glued on by seemingly PVC hot glue. Either due to poor design or poor workmanship, it leaked between the plate and its housing where glue coverage was poor. The eventual fix was simple by applying a additional layer of PVC hot glue. However trying to diagnose where and what causing the leak while it's installed high behind the sink inside the sink cabinet took a course of two days. The one star rating is for selling a over priced plumbing product that leaks.

Worked for a year
Was working great until it hit the one year mark. Now it leaks.

Seriously don't buy this!
We have had to purchase 2 of these. The first one broke in my husband's hand before he even had it installed. We panicked, as we needed an airgap for our RO system (the faucet airgap broke over a year ago), so I ordered another to replace the broken one. It leaks water all over our sink cabinet. We are removing it because we cannot live like this. It is overpriced plastic junk. We'll try a new air gap faucet next, but definitely nothing to do with this stupid thing. You are better off drinking sewer water than using this.

Broke just installing
This plastic isn't nylon reinforced or anything. It was extremely brittle. All the directions for installation, to include softening the tubes for installation, were followed. It sputtered, leaked, then the inlet port broke off. I would advise against purchasing this as you will only be met with frustration and either a broken or leaky air gap (or in my case, both).

Easy to install and works well.
I did not know that my Reverse osmosis unit needed an air-gap between it and the drain when backwashing. This device fit the bill. I only had to buy some 1/4" waterline (that only came in 25 ' lengths) to finish the installation. Having said that it is overpriced for a molded plastic device. For what it cost, It could have come with couple 3 feet of 1/4" waterline to soften the blow to my wallet.

Overpriced and cheaply made
Overpriced and cheaply made . Item will leak even when placed at a high level in cabinet. Plastic nipples break easily

didn't seal water
Leaked, plastic hoses were pushed on, not clamped, and the unit leaked 2x- pulled from drain line and removed. Not sure if unit leaked or the water lines leaked but water leaking is not good. Seemed well enough made but pulled out of the line because water leaks are too risky

Iโm actually very disappointed
I deeply apologize because I do not ever write a bad review but I am very disappointed, especially for the price I have paid for this item. The purchasers to replace the air gap to make a Moen beverage faucet work with my pentair RO system. I installed the air gap underneath the sink in the cabinet. It looked fine and did not leak and I had to leave the house for a couple hours and when I came back it had flooded from the air gap hole damaging my cabinet. Later, trying to diagnose the problem and add a check valve when I dismantled the air gap it had broke with a little force. See photo. I feel as if the air gap was not rated for the pressure of the waist return and is made from very cheap plastic. For the waist of $150, price of the check valve, damage to the cabinets, and the stress of all of it, I am very disappoint.
