Bee-approved and beekeeper-approved!!
Bee-approved and beekeeper-approved!! As a newer beekeeper, I wanted a hive that was sturdy, easy to assemble, and ready for the beesโand this one checked all the boxes. The hive went together surprisingly easily, and once assembled it felt very solid and well-made. The wood is beautiful, the boxes fit together nicely, and my bees seem to love their new home. The real test of a company is how they handle problems, and BeeCastle passed with flying colors. One of my supers arrived cracked during shipping. I messaged the seller, and they responded quickly, sent out a replacement right away, and even told me to keep the damaged one. Thatโs the kind of customer service that keeps people coming back. โ Easy assembly โ Sturdy construction โ Great customer service โ Happy bees If youโre looking for a quality hive with a company that stands behind its product, Iโd definitely recommend this one. My bees are happy, Iโm happy, and thatโs a win in my bee book! ๐๐ฏ๐

Great Quality
Sturdy, standard size, great price. Built well, all pieces go together pretty square and supers have great dovetailing. I'd reinforced with glue and brad nails so there's no chance of frames separating from the weight with just the tack nails provided, added extra wax to the foundations to avoid any chance of bur comb just to be safe and, with a little effort, it's the highest quality hive. Will definitely be buying more as my Apiary expands. I believe that everything comes dipped in wax.

Amazing hive!
I ordered this hive to get ready to split my other two hives. The quality is amazing, tight joints with no excessive wax. Went together easy with no need to hit with hammer. My other two hoover hives had so much wax in joints i had to cut it away snd hammer them in so hard. Will definitely but bee castle again!!!!

Heck of a good deal
I'm a first year beekeeper and bought two of these hive kits to start...I'm a little over a month into having bees in the hives and so far these are working great. The woodenware seems quite nicely made and is cedar, which you'd pay a premium for elsewhere. Everything fit together well. I disagree with other reviews saying that the wax coating on the foundation was light. The wax on the Beecastle foundation was actually heavier than the wax on some Premier foundation I got -- I did go ahead and roll some extra on but I'm not sure it was strictly necessary. I guess the only thing I would like as an upgrade to this kit would be screened bottom boards for varroa IPM/monitoring, but most other kits also come with solid bottom boards. Overall, I'm extremely happy with these hives and will probably buy more -- it's hard to beat the price for what you get.

The components look to be good quality but they need to look at a different shipping container.
I purchase two different kits of this style from two different vendors for the purpose to compare them each other. The hive and components look to be pretty solid. Plenty of wax on the boxes and parts. The inter cover was not notched for a top entrance so I will have to notch that myself. The joints are solid and the assembly was very easy and the wax made the seams seal up very well. The one draw back I found for both the kits was the shipping boxes. The carboard box was barely strong enough to hold all the components in the box. The shipping box should be a heavy box because the shippers are not gentle with these boxes and they had wholes punched into them. They might want to consider strapping the boxes also because when I open the box it just fell apart. I ended up with missing parts and having one of the med boxes being broken. Which they promptly replaced by their customer service reps.

High quality
Very high quality construction. Assembly is straightforward and a breeze. Looks great assembled. The beeswax coating is perfect coverage and brings the beauty of the wood out and is a great weatherproof coat.

We are happy with the quality of the BeeCastle hive. Well made and easy to assemble. We like the beeswax finish rather than paint

Great Beehive Kit, but read my suggestions
You will receive the kit flat packed in a box. The boxes and frames all need to be assembled. I would allocated about 1-2 hours for the full assembly. I recommend using slightly longer and larger screws for the Super and Medium boxes, as the existing screws tend to dive too deep into the pilot holes. I also recommend using an 18ga trim nailer for the frames, as it will save you alot of time during assembly, although the provided brad nails are okay. Just don't miss with your hammer and break the frames. The overall product seems durable, and the dovetail construction is a TRUE dovetail. This costed me much less than what the local beekeeping store wants to charge.
