Plastic Hinge Dowel Inserts with Screws 100 Pack

Needed to replace hinges in larder cupboard to allow easier access. These worked well but needed to be glued to prevent them turning when putting in screw. I used 8mm drill into MDF, filled the hole with glue then hammered the plug in.

Fantastic product, couldn't do the job without them. Robust little things excellent quality would recommend

You need to get right size drill bit and a bit wood glue to install .to keep a tight fitting.would use again. Always use the correct Phillips head as the screws heads can be soft when using wrong size

Bought to allow fixing of some hinges to new cupboard doors I was fabricating. Drilled the appropriate sized hole (8mm was fine for me, plus I didn't have an 8.5mm bit), the plastic plug needed hammering in, my material (MDF) had a little give I guess to was OK for the smaller sized hole however I did find that when screwing in the plastic plug, which has ridges to prevent it from coming up out of the hole, doesn't have anything to stop it from spinning in the hole. Ended up adding a dot of hot glue to the hole before inserting the plastic plug, this helped strengthen the hole and kept the plug in place when fixing the hinge with the screw. I imagine this might be different in different materials, a harder wood might be fine for example. I wouldn't think these would be particularly heavy duty but then again they did the job intended here so no complaints.

This solution works well, but the items come with no instructions as to what drill size to use. It was fortunate that I erred on the safe side and only used an 8mm drill as the internet advert suggested 8.30mm (3/8"), otherwise fine product.
