Have an 18 year old Peugeot 106. Low mileage, runs brilliantly and takes 30 seconds to break in with a small screwdriver (I've done it myself, when locked keys inside) and believe can be hotwired (not that I've tried that though). Hence need for a stoplock. Had the non-pro version Stoplock HG 134-59 Original Steering Wheel Lock for a few years, until the lock wore out (it would open by itself). The non-pro version also marked the steering wheel as it clamps tightly. This is a much better item. The locking mechanism is very secure and tough, and looks like it will last forever. The clamping mechanism is cleverer - two hoops, with plenty of space, so they don't mark the steering wheel (and on my car, can be place either side of the arm, making it even more secure). The slight downside is it's a bit longer, and heavier, making it a bit more cumbersome to fit. But you get used to it in no time, especially considering the security and peace of mind it brings. So, don't waste money on the cheaper version, this is the real thing and will last.

Just make sure to visit the manufacturer’s website to see what model is recommended for your specific car as the shape of them means they don’t fit all cars. Very happy with the locks in all cases. The big yellow lock deters thieves after reading reviews from the UK these a just about the highest rated steering wheel locks you can buy. I saw so many when visiting the UK and it surprised me as I hadn’t seen steering locks since the eighties. If your car has one, the thieves will walk past it to another car. Much cheaper here than in shops in Australia.
