Back does not secure, seat rips [2.5 year review]
This toilet seat is comfy, but it does not secure well in the back. After many times re-tightening it and it coming back loose, I gave up and it just wiggles around. About a year later, after having one certain guest (he is not heavy but perhaps sloppy?), the seat started ripping a little, and the rip just got bigger and bigger. I now have another rip in the front, and another on the other side. I'm at 2.5 years now. It did the job for the price but I won't be buying this again.

Great seat IMO.
Very comfortable and easy to install and clean. It doesn’t slow close but it’s soft and rather quiet

Comfortable, better than a hard toilet seat.
I bought this as a replacement when my 3rd Kohler bidet quit working. It was very expensive, and I was tired of trying repairs, which was also expensive. So I wanted a seat that didn't feel like sitting on ice cubes, especially in the middle of the night. This seat solved that. However, beware, since I had mine, the inside split. I fixed it with white tape, but am not happy about it. So I gave it a 4. Also, be sure you know if your seat is round or oval. I bought one for my sister, assuming hers was like mine. It wasn't and I had to return it.

Enjoying the comfort of this commode padded seat, plus it's so easy to keep clean!
Love the comfort of this commode. Great that it is so easy to clean, not having to use harsh cleaning products. For now, it seems very sturdy and I'm expecting it to hold up well. The round size is perfect, The soft white finish is perfect and the ease of use is just right!

Best Toiler Seat EVER!!!!!
Good quality, very comfortable and easy to install. I have purchased many toilet seats in my life time and this is by far the best toilet seat ever. Installation is so easy and it stays tight. Will not buy any other brand again!!!

Terrible quality/value: Vinyl cover cracks when seat just out of warranty
This Mayfair product is made by Bemis and features their nifty hinge connections, which are easy to install and allow quick release of the seat for cleaning; and because the hinges and connection parts are plastic, they won't corrode like metal. Also, I like that Bemis is a U.S. company, and they'll send you replacement parts (e.g., bumpers/spacers) free. HOWEVER, that's where my positive comments end for the Bemis Mayfair comfort seat. In the last five years, I've purchased this product three times (twice on Amazon) for one toilet, though two seats were model 13EC and the other was 15EC. ALL THREE times, I noticed upon opening the box that the vinyl covering the foam had distinct creases/wrinkles. These made the seat a tad uncomfortable and, as I suspected, created weak spots. Even though my toilet gets only moderate, gentle use, on ALL THREE seats, at least one of those wrinkles opened up into a tear (quickly making the seat quite uncomfortable and impossible to clean) after one year but less than two years. This coincidentally(?) occurred just after expiration of the one-year warranty (downloadable from Amazon's listing page). Bemis strictly enforces the length of their warranty. The rep I spoke with pleasantly but firmly stated that they do not make exceptions (unsurprising since they might otherwise go broke due to constantly sending customers free replacements for the comfort seats). The rep I spoke with also convinced me that the new (15EC) model was improved, so I should choose that instead of the 13EC, adding that ordering it from Amazon would cost less because if I ordered direct from Bemis, I would pay for shipping. My pics show the seat she recommended (the 15EC), after removal (about a year and a half later), atop a seat cover on a different toilet seat. On the left side of the seat are creases/wrinkles it came with, and on the right side is the tear that a similar wrinkle became. (It all looks almost identical to my pics of the first two seats.) Like most people, I prefer to spend more for products that last rather than buying crap that just ends up in landfill after a couple of years. Before purchasing new products, I try to adapt old ones of good quality. Case in point: I inherited a padded toilet seat (made by a different [unmarked] manufacturer) that had been happily used elsewhere for at least 15 years. The vinyl was perfectly smooth: no wrinkles or uneven spots. Apparently, that vinyl was better quality (perhaps thicker and/or more flexible), and/or manufactured to more exacting standards. Unfortunately, the screw holes on that seat's hinges didn't line up right for my toilet. This is why I purchased the first Mayfair comfort seat. However, three times was not a charm. I don't recommend this comfort seat because it's cheaply made (or perhaps made to fail), yet expensive. In my experience, the quality issue is specific to the comfort seats; we've had a Bemis wood seat for 10+ years and have used it on two different toilets without any problems other than minor wear of the finish that is fixable by periodically spraying it with a high-quality, high-gloss spray paint. Now I've gone back to using a cold, hard wood seat. To simplify installation, I purchased another Bemis wood toilet seat (similar to the one we've used for 10+ years), which has the same quick-release system. It fits perfectly, is reasonably comfortable, and was less than half the cost of the comfort seat. My first priority for a toilet seat (before comfort) is a lid I can sit on after a shower (small bathroom). Easy to clean is next. Then comes avoiding soft-close. Unlike most (and happily for my pocketbook), I dislike soft-close seats because they seem illogical: Flushing sends micro particles into the air, so I close the lid before flushing, and standing there waiting for it to close so that I can flush seems absurd. When I'm somewhere that has a soft-close seat, I either force it closed more quickly, or let it close while hand-washing and then backtrack to flush. However, I know that many are so accustomed to soft-close seats that non-soft-close seats catch them by surprise: I've heard the muffled bang when they use our bathroom. This is one reason I have a lid cover: to protect the seat finish. I'm considering taping a sign inside the lid: NOT A SOFT-CLOSE SEAT - CLOSE WITH CARE. Sorry for the digression. With the money I've spent on Bemis toilet seats over the years (three comfort seats, plus the original and new wood ones), I could have purchased a whole new toilet (though I'd have to then replace the cheap plastic seat anyway!). These Mayfair comfort seats exemplify how few things are made to last anymore. (When I was a kid, we had one toilet seat for 20+ years!) I wonder if high-quality comfort seats are even available anymore; maybe a high-end specialty shop would have one (though if they did, it would probably be soft-close). There's definitely a niche market opportunity here!

It Is Good... But Needs Fine Tuning
Honestly, I haven't found one more comfortable for my household. With one child that needs comfort and support for lengthy toilet time, the seat is fantastic. Very easy to install, clean, all those things. However, the vinyl cover isn't long term. As most have said, the material cracks somewhere between 6-10 months. I'm in a household of 5 and between all of us, its somewhere in that time frame. Unfortunately, we haven't found one for the same value that lasts as long. The $60 options are equally as good, but last just as long before tears happen. You are better off buying these for comfort and support, but expect to replace before 12 months. Unless we haven't figured out something, and its not the cleaners we use causing early break down. Wish there was a soft close option, too. Sometimes they get stuck half open if you don't actually push the lid down.

Do you poop a lot? Do you get caught up on your phone surfing Reddit & YouTube or filling out Amazon reviews until your legs fall asleep during a hangover poop? Has your girlfriend unironically slipped one of those “stop pooping I miss you :(“ notes under the bathroom door? Then this seat is for you! It was easy to install, fit perfectly on my standard toilet, and adds a good amount of cushioning compared to those rim gel pads and it looks like a normal classy nice comfy toilet seat to guests instead of some weird 6 inch high orthopedic hospital tube seat. The only downsides are that there’s a seam on the inside rim and 99% of the time it’s not a problem but occasionally if it’s a hot & humid day and you’re on there for a while the seat material gets a little slippery so your skin might slide just enough to scratch against that seam. But pro-tip: just keep a paper towel roll in the bathroom for cleaning or whatever and when it’s a hot day or you’ve been on there for a while because last night’s taco Tuesday is about to attack for round 3, just rip a paper towel sheet in half and put each half on the seat under your thighs to both absorb the sweat and cover the seam from scratching. For most of your poop sessions the seam shouldn’t be a problem and the cushion is worth it! I haven’t had any problems with the material tearing so far like other reviews have mentioned, but I try to be gentle with it instead of sprinting to the bathroom at the last second and power-diving my butt onto it lol Just sit down gently and it should last for a while.

Excelente producto. Sólo un poco pesado.

As they warn us, this is for US sized toilets, not UK size. But with a bit of pressure I was able to make it fit. Unfortunately there is no UK sized seat of this quality on Amazon so it might be worth the risk of trying.
