Dash Deluxe SmartStore Stirring Popcorn Maker with Storage Lid

Just got it today and used once. I used coconut oil and added butter on the top. It was really good! So easy and clean up was easy too! I ordered butter flavored salt and I’m going to try kettle corn. 3 quart was a good amount for two people. I love my other Dash appliances so I’m hoping this will last a long time.

Pops thoroughly, tastes great. We bought movie theatre butter salt & sprinkled it on there. Tastes exactly like movie popcorn! It did not burn or undercook. Not many unpopped kernels at all. The temperature was perfect. We did have better luck popping one serving at a time; it seems to cook better. But not complaining. Watching it pop is very mesmerizing & relaxing!

We’d gotten into the habit of buying bags of prepopped popcorn, which was inconvenient and really expensive. Tried some microwave brands and they just didn’t taste as good. So we got this popper and it’s been great! It’s very easy to use and paid for itself in about a month, and the popcorn is about the best we’ve tasted. The quantity is just right for two people and a movie. I use just slightly less than a half cup of kernels because a true half cup sometimes raises the lid just as it finishes popping. Also, I invert the whole assembly when it’s done, before turning it off, because it only takes a few seconds with the stirrer not turning to burn the popcorn. I haven’t had any problems cleaning it and don’t see how it could be easier and still work as well. The bowl and cap are soaked in soapy water along with the stirrer and plastic nut, wiped with a dish sponge, rinsed and dried. The base I wipe with a paper or cloth towel to remove the oil and butter. The non-stick coating wipes clean. It seems unavoidable to get droplets of butter in the countertop; these are actually harder to clean than the popper but still not much work. I do have a few critiques—minor to me but maybe more important to others: There is a lip about a quarter inch wide, on the bottom heated portion, which the clear lid/bowl sits on. It’s too wide, so kernels can sit on the lip and not get popped. This is the main source of the few unpopped kernels we get each time. The clear top isn’t really a reliable bowl because the cap doesn’t stay tight when the bowl cools off, and can leak residual butter and oil on my table or lap. So I dump the popcorn into another bowl. Which is a good time to sprinkle salt in.

This popcorn maker makes excellent tasting popcorn. It is better than microwave popcorn and even better than pan made popcorn. It's extremely easy to use and almost every kernel pops. The butter melting feature is nice, especially if the butter is warmed prior to popping in the microwave or pan. It makes excellent kettle corn just by adding sugar. It stores easily and pops very fast. I highly recommend this popper. it is a very well engineered product at a great price.

But this is a gift for my grandchildren and they love it. They made me popcorn with it and it was the best popcorn it just does such a good job air pop popcorn tends to be tough. This was absolutely delicious.

This popcorn maker is so fun and works great! It makes a good amount of popcorn quickly, and the stirring feature helps it cook evenly. I love the clear bowl so you can see it popping, and it’s easy to use and clean. Perfect for movie nights at home! 🍿

We love it. Easy to operate and clean. Everything stacks nicely for storage. We use it a couple times a week, great popper.

My air popper was too darn loud, and I hated how much butter I had to add to make it not taste like Styrofoam packing noodles. So I switched to stovetop popping with peanut oil (highly recommended choice of oil). That worked great, but you can't take your eyes or hands off of it even for a second or you can have a smelly, burnt mess. I bought the Dash SmartStore Deluxe Stirring Popcorn Maker on a Black Friday sale, and have now used it about a half-dozen times. I throw 3 Tbsp of peanut oil and 3/4 cup of kernels in it. It takes a little bit of time to heat up, but pops nicely when it finally gets up there. You do have to turn it off and get the heat off of the popcorn as the popping stops or it will burn. I don't use the plastic lid for my bowl, preferring to dump the popped kernels into a big popcorn bowl that I've had for ages. The nice thing about popping with oil is that you don't need to add butter. That's not significantly "healthier" than using butter, but if you compare fat and calories per serving, it is lower to pop with oil. The price made it very high value for what you get, though mine was either a returned item or damaged box by the rough appearance of it. All of the parts were present, so I kept it anyway. So far I am very happy, and would buy this model again.

It makes great popcorn, and it's easy to clean. It's on the bigger side, so I keep it on top of the fridge.

Muy recomendable, las palomitas quedan deliciosas, a sabor casero, pues se hacen con aceite. La máquina es muy fácil de usar, tanto que los niños pueden usarla, con un poco de supervisión. Estoy muy satisfecha con el producto. ❤️❤️

Al principio dudé un poco porque las tiritas empezaron a mover los granos de maíz a los lados pero una vez que empezaron a reventar todo quedó súper bien. Tarda un poquito en comenzar pero las palomitas quedaron muy bien, el bowl es muy útil para servirlas ahí mismo y no ensuciar algo más. Es muy fácil de usar, solo un botón y ya. Tiene la medida para hacer la cantidad de palomitas que desees. Además de todo, me encanta el color
