Creature comfort in the garage!
I've had this for a couple years now and I thought I'd review it. Installed it in the garage and it works great. My dogs love it and I love it. Having a temperature controlled area to work and for my dogs to get out of the sun is awesome. Super easy install if you know what your doing. It's quiet and we run it quite often and haven't noticed much difference on our electric bill. The one I got has a heat pump so it cools and heats.

It works great and is super quiet!
Had a A/C service install the unit, Iโm disabled, but itโs very straightforward from what I could tell if you have some mechanical and electrical skills along was following directions, it shouldnโt be hard to install. The unit cools and heats well. Iโve had the heat on to dry out cabinets in my shop/office after painting them. So far Iโve been very satisfied with this unit. Seems well constructed and runs efficiently! Itโs very quiet and just what I needed. Where I live itโs hot and humid, but cools great. I recommend it!! UPDATE: IVE BEEN USING THIS UNIT FOR 8 months now. Itโs great, super quiet and cools well when itโs over 100 degrees and heats well down into the 20โs with the wind blowing hard most of the time. Iโm impressed. My Air Conditioning Tech was impressed with it as well. He commented several times how well it was made and that the compressor adjusted to the demand, said thatโs extremely important.

Good Mini Split Air Conditioner
After going years without air conditioning in a converted attic bedroom, I decided to have a system installed, but after getting quotes of many thousands of dollars for a small room, I decided to look into DYI units. I searched all over the internet and my town for a unit that had a combination of ease of installation, good user experience, and most importantly, price! After I found the DELLA 12000 BTU Mini Split Air Conditioner & Heater Ductless Inverter System, 19 SEER2 208-230-Volt system at such a low price, I was at first skeptical that it could be any good. But because my pockets were a little light I decided to take a chance. I'm glad that I took that chance because after getting it installed it has operated beyond my expectations. It cools the room way better than any previous air conditioners, plus it has a heat option. Also compared to the other units my electric bill is lower. I installed the unit myself and it was easy even though I have never done this before. I did have a small problem with the torque specifications listed in the installation manual, Do Not Use The Foot Lb specification listed in the book, use the Newton meter specification. For some reason the Ft Lb specifications are wrong. If you use these you will crack the flare nuts and the unit will leak. Overall I feel that this is a good product, as for how long it will last, only time will tell. I will update if I have any problems.

Quit working too soon.
Gave out just a little over 2 years. Should have lasted longer than that. Professional installation. Freon leak in the inside unit that cannot be repaired.

A good product generally speaking
The pros; There is a good install youtube video for this. Once I got it vacuumed out, and no leaks, within 30 minutes, my music studio was getting very cool. The price is very competitive. The wifi was easy to connect to. The cons: Having some experience with China made equipment with a MrCool system, I knew what I was in for with shortcomings. You kind of get what you pay for with cheaper units as far as certain features that lack quality. First of, bear in mind you either need to buy a vacuum pump kit with gauges $89 on Amazon. Secondly, the copper line insulation is terrible if you live in a hot weather state. The insulation deteriorates within two years and falls apart. And they want you to wrap it with provided Teflon no adhesive tape, which is time consuming and you only get enough tape to cover about one third of the length of tubing. I was lucky I had some leftover from the MrCool installation, where they provide two rolls. What they should really do is make the lines with good quality black rubber insulation. The drain tubing will turn brittle within two years and fall apart from the hot and cold. So I bought 6 ft of 3/8" acrylic tubing from Home Depot and stretched the end with a pointy nose pliers to expand it enough to fit on the drain pigtail. That works well. The metal mounting plate is very thin metal and has two points to hang it, which means make sure you put a bunch of screws in to keep it from bending. Also you need a an open end type crescent wrench that measures torque. Unless you have a good feel for it. Specific values are recommended for each tubing size. Or you will have leaks. It is harder to find an HVAC pro to work on these mini-splits anymore, so if you intend to do that, check in advance if they will work on this model. So I probably spent nine hours by myself removing the old MrCool system and installing this one by myself, with eletrical already run, wall hole already drilled for tubing, stones laid out already to set outside unit on, etc. It's simply a time consuming thing especially doing it in the middle of TX summer. As well as disposing of the old equipment. But I am satisfied, with my experienced effort, that it is a good installation.

Should've Done This A Long Time Ago!
Been using a 10,000 BTU KoolKing portable unit that has the hose that sticks out the window, which wasn't cuttin' it. Also, it was very noisy and only cooled when it wanted to. So, it was time for an upgrade. Something that also wasn't going to take up some of my floor space and occupy my window. I'm not specialized as an electrician or HVAC tech, but you can learn a lot from YouTube University and common sense. So, installation, to me, was pretty straight forward. I was lucky to already have a fresh 220 volt line going to my bedroom for the baseboard heater under the house I was able to tap into. Doing so also freed up the load on an already, possibly, overloaded 110 volt circuit. So, just had to run power, punch a hole in my wall, connect the lines, run a vacuum, then release the refrigerant. Very simple, to me, and it's working beautifully. It's so whisper quiet too. Might consider an 18,000 BTU unit for the living room later. Update, now that it's getting cold out... It's been doing pretty good keeping the chill off in my room. The heat it puts out is so gentle and cozy. The only thing annoying is when it's on Auto and it switches itself from Heat to Cool or vice versa, the louvers go into the down position and I have to push the swing button on the remote and wait for them to go back up. Maybe Della can come out with a software update. Also, when it's on Heat only, it seems to not blow at all unless it's heating.

Great unit!
The DELLA unit is working wonderfully! I did have it professionally installed, but for the most part it was definitely DIY able (biggest problem would have been the need to vacuum the line set down). It does a wonderful job heating and cooling my studio.

So far so good...
Installed it myself and has been running a couple weeks now. So far so good--cooling seems pretty strong. Unit is very quiet. I purchased a vacuum pump, vacrometer gauge that read in microns, a valve core removal tool and some adapters. Many of the YT videos recommended removing the (shrader) valve core on the service port before pulling vacuum. But i was worried I may not be able to reinstall it properly through the valve core removal tool. I just left the valve core in place and the vacuum pulled down fine within 8-10 minutes since this is a relatively small system. So in the end i only used the valve core tool as a shutoff valve and a place to mount the vacrometer. I am not clear on exactly how the dehumidify function works. It does not appear you can set a humidity level like with a humidistat. I had difficulty getting the app to connect to the unit through my xfinity gateway (combines modem and router function). I had to install a separate router and it connected fine. As someone mentioned--dont lose the remote! There are no controls on the unit.
