WE Games Tournament Roll Up Chess Board - Vinyl with Green Squares

I love this board, just what I needed. I play chess most weekends, pick a fast food restaurant, and play for hours! This roll up board is perfect, not weighty, easy to carry, looks great, awesome!

My old one got all curled up and I had to throw it away. But this one is like it never left.

It is good and durable and everything but the font is not a Futura-Book like font as seen on the top view picture but rather a more boxy font like the 8 seen in the roll up picture. It would be nice that they would mention it. Remember that it is big or large.

After a lot of research I ordered three different roll-up boards from three different companies. All three are good boards but I like this one the best. It lays out flat without too much memory and it just feels well made. The notation around the edges is a bit large, but other than that I think it is one of the best available.

Not very high quality compared to other vinyl mats that cost less. Mine came well packaged and rolled up. It's been laying on a table all days with pieces on it and it still curls up on the edges. I'll probably donate it to the local chess club. I thought it would be an upgrade over my other mats, but it's not.

Have this set up in my bedroom - it is a tournament chess piece that goes along nicely with the pieces. I have now mastered the game after 40 years of play and challenge any one to beat me. (None have) Have gone to tournaments and studied Bobby Fischer and this I log around whenever I find a challenge - nice.

After 25 years my old roll-up vinyl chessboard needed to be replaced. So I ordered this green one to replace it. I assumed it would be impossible to lower the quality of a vinyl chessboard. Well I am proved wrong. Someone has managed to do that. The board sticks to itself when we unroll it to play. Secondly, the mat feels thinner than my old board. Finally, call me fussy, I preferred my old boards lettering over this one. I have now had this board for over a month and I have lowered my rating to one-star. The reason is that the board still sticks to itself when rolled up, the green paint has now rubbed off on the white squares. Finally, dust and anything else floating in the air sticks to the board, making playing with this board unappealing.

...These 'boards' are easy to roll up, yet lay flat, and I've been purchasing them (and have given many away to chess clubs) since the 1980s when I got into tournament chess. The AN on the borders is handy, plenty of room for even the larger tournament sets, white/dark squares show good contrast, minimal if any glare in most lighting setups, and fits nicely in chess set tote bags.
