Rod length good; push nut right size

I have a Honda HRX217K5VKA mower. This is definitely an OEM kit. No idea if manufacturer made adjustments to what's included in this kit or not, but the rod I got fit my mower perfectly. I agree with some other reviews that say the rubber used for the guard is softer than the original, however, the change could possibly be a design improvement (original - stiffer - guard on mine cracked in the middle on both ends). This guard also feels a bit thicker than the original. As for the push nut, it is definitely the correct size. It's meant to be a little challenging to put on because it must fit very snug (mowers vibrate, ergo the rod will vibrate, and the push nut should be snug enough so that it will not vibrate off). Push nuts have inner teeth that bend when you push something like a rod through them. After trying for a while to install the new push nut onto the new rod and getting 100% nowhere, I tried a different approach. I took the old rod and centered it in the hole of the new push nut, then tapped a mallet on the rod end to bend the inner teeth a little (which they did). This made it a bit easier to then affix the new push nut to the new rod while it's on the mower. Just another way of dealing with what seems to be (but isn't) the wrong size push nut. If what I tried didn't work, I was ready to just use the old push nut, which could work as well.

Exactly as described, Honda OEM parts.

Same Honda quality but with Amazon delivery ... torn rear shield was taped together last year, this season I swapped it out when I did the oil and air filter change and changed the blades. Slide a socket head wrench over the retaining washer to help hold it in place while tapping on the other end of the rod to seat it. Should have done this sooner.

Almost perfect.

The flap and the rod are exact replacements for those on my HRX217HXA, I had no issues with the length of the rod, but, as a few other reviewers have noted, the supplied push washer does not seem to fit the rod -I re-used the old one rather than risking damaging something trying to hammer the new one on.

almost a true replacement

Like other reviewers have noted, the replacement rear shield comes with a rod that is about one inch short. Fortunately the old one was still usable. It's hard to understand why a replacement part is not designed properly. One other comment: the material in the replacement shield is softer and seems not at durable. But only many months or years of service will be needed before one can determine if the replacement is as durable as the original (or better).

Very nice product

Solid piece as good or better than the original.. and yes it’s true Honda product. Little difficult to put retaining clip. Once clip is on are used a small deep well socket to push retaining clip all the way to To the stopping position.

Mower is like new again

Toughest step was to drive on the cap that holds the rod in place. Very simple job and now my feet are better protected with a full shield in place.

Careful when installing the push nut onto the rod, it brakes easily.

OEM part fits perfectly but the push nut that comes with it is weak and broke immediately. Trip to the hardware store remedied the problem.

Helps settle mulched grass back into the lawn.

I used the mower without this for years, but since I was doing other repair, I replaced this part too. The only thing that I can see that it does is it slightly brushes the lawn after the blades mulch, so there doesn't seem to ea as much cut grass sitting on top of the lawn.

Ontime as described

Spare part required urgently and now performing well. Good supplier to have on record for all mower spares in future.
