Review: Libro ideal para niños pequeños para que se empiecen a familiarizar con el inglés. Viene con solapas en la boca de los animales y se levantan, a mi hijo le gusta mucho levantarlas. El libro habla de los sonidos que hacen los animales. Review: This is an adorable book. The pages are of good quality, and the paper is glossy. All of the color and text are crisp and clear. Each page gives a little rhyme about the animal on that page on the left, and on the right is a full-page face with a paper flap to lift to see what that animal "says". The flap opens up to show the inside of the animal's mouth. It is very cute, and my granddaughter loves this book. Since the flaps are made of the same paper as the rest of the book, it is easier to accidentally tear them. My granddaughter did a little on one page when she was about 16 months old.

Our daughter absolutely loves this book and the companion, Do Crocs Kiss. We have read either one of them almost every night for 6 months, and they helped her to learn animal noises. The pages and the flaps covering the animals are quite robust, although as she has got older and stronger she has managed to rip a couple. The last lines of the rhyming verses are the same each time so she knows when it is time to lift the flap and do the animal noise. The 'revision' part at the back of the book is also a great idea, where you look at each animal and go through the noises again. My only gripe would be some of the noises and the animal choices are a bit random; i.e. tigers do not go 'chomp'. Maybe tiger and lion could have gone in different books, as they both go roar... And a toucan is such a weird choice of bird, so it is quite confusing teaching a 18-month old that a bird makes a 'cheep' sound, then trying to explain why a toucan makes the same sound...Birdy, rather than toucan, would have worked and is the correct number of syllables. Clearly I have spent far too long thinking about this, but when you read something for the 47th time the little things start to annoy.....

The flaps are a little fragile but you can only expect so much from a lift-the-flap book, and I've seen much worse quality on other lift-the-flap books. (I'm looking at you, "Where's Spot" board book.) The poetry is not masterful, but it's cute, and the kids are absolutely delighted by the story and love trying to name the animals on the last page. On the frog page there's a fly in the frog's mouth and they lose their minds when they see it. It reminds them of the book "I Don't Want to Be a Frog" in which there's a lot of "bug eating".
