would it pull up a toyota corolla vertical lock that is flat without the indented top of some vertical locks? Corolla locks have no indentation.

I have not come across that particular situation. I have opened cars that have the push button lock by the handle. I have pulled the handle to open a door. Once the loop has a grab on something it does hold on to it pretty good
