Trying to find an inexpensive way to connect my mic to my phone for better videos has been a huge investment in research and time - my head is ready to explode. To help you avoid the same situation, gentle reader, and hopefully help you save some time, I submit the settings that worked for my particular hardware/software. Of course, your mileage may vary... HARDWARE Android Smart Phone = Samsung Galaxy Note9 Microphone = Blue Yeti Pro (XLR/USB connections) Anker USB-C to USB 3.1 Adapter, USB-C Male to USB-A Female SOFTWARE (Phone App) My purpose was solely to use the mic for video capture and I did not test the adapter with the voice recorder app that comes with the Galaxy Note9. That being said, the resident Samsung camera/video app will not recognize a USB mic plugged into the USB C port. Go to GooglePlay and get the Open Camera app and install it. Once installed, you will need to change some of the settings in the app to recognize the external mic that you've attached to the USB C port with the handy adapter. I did the following: "Open Camera" App Settings> Video Settings> Record Audio = select ON Settings> Video Settings> Audio Source (tap on it to make a selection) select UNPROCESSED Settings> Video Settings> Audio Channels (tap on it to make a selection) (select STEREO only supported on some devices) These settings were what finally worked with the Blue Yeti Pro connected to the Galaxy Note9 with this adapter cable. NOTE: TO USE THE PHONE TO PLAYBACK THE VIDEO, YOU MUST REMOVE THE MIC FROM THE PHONE. Otherwise, you won't hear sound from the video. I originally tried different settings, i. e., exterior mic and default settings but the sound was horrible. The above settings were what worked for me. YAY!

This adapter is well built and does provide USB 3.1 speed (5 Gbps). However, it is only 5 inches (12.7 cm) long. This is not mentioned on either Anker or Amazon websites. This is ok to use with a laptop, but not so useful for a desktop.

Salut à tous, Je suis satisfait de mon achat : Qualité / esthétique, rien à redire, ça fonctionne sur mon Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 ! Explication du câble OTG : Ce câble OTG (On The Go) permet de brancher une manette sur son smartphone Android (sa tablette aussi), mais aussi un clavier, une clé USB ... Le principe est simple d'un côté une prise USB femelle pour y brancher le périphérique USB et de l'autre côté un embout "mâle" que l'on va brancher sur son téléphone. Attention ! Cet embout doit être le même que celui de votre chargeur, sur ce câble l'embout mâle est au format USB-C conformément au chargeur de mon smartphone. Bien vérifier les caractéristiques de votre smartphone et de son chargeur avant d'acheter ce produit. Pour en revenir au câble, très bonne qualité du câble, tout semble solide, plutôt esthétique Je recommande sans problème, rapport qualité prix exemplaire. This is a great piece of kit to transfer media from your phone onto USB drives. Once inserted into your phone, it is automatically mounted and ready to use. Before you remove the cable with a connected USB drive from the phone, remember to unmount the drive first, to prevent any problems.

My experience with this so far has been that it shows typical Anker high quality. - It seems to be very sturdy. - Tough plastic coating/insulation. - Connector mates firmly, but not overly tight with its counterpart on my PC - Connection is stable-no disconnects or other issues. - My only complaint is that I wish they would make these cables a little bit more flexible, so you wouldn't have to fight with them.
