Almost perfect
Pros: + 6 face buttons/4 shoulder buttons, makes for almost perfect emulation of any console gamepad, whether for an emulator, or transitioning to a PC version of an Xbox/Playstation favorite + Includes rumble support + Solid controller, dropped many times by people and still works perfectly + Dual analog. Why do they still make gamepads that aren't? + Price is great Cons: - Official software useless. JoyToKey or another program works much better - Analog sticks do not double as buttons like Saitek P990 Dual Analog Game Pad - Rumble rarely works consistently - Dpad is not to everyone's liking (I found it to be so-so) Conclusion: This or the Saitek P990 Dual Analog Game Pad are almost certain to meet any gamepad needs you have, it's really a matter of which you want more: rumble or analog sticks that double as buttons?

at 95/100 of what I expected.
the controller, besides the part that I "think" I set up the controls right, the gamepad directional buttons go only 4 directions, and not 8 as I thought I set it up as. I use the left joy stick for movement. I use this gamepad for playing Dungeon Fighter Online. Its great, since I can use most skills with out needed the key board. I love this controller. I'm glad I got it to replace the other one I had that just had major problems and was basically broken. I'll use this controller for gaming with certain games for as long as it works; which I hope will be for a very long time. The amount of buttons on the controller, I honestly don't know why someone would use anything less. Besides the 4 directional button when it should be 8, this product came to a neighbors door on the 9th of july, monday, 2012. I'm lucky I live in a good neighborhood, cause the guy came to my door and gave me the package. The package was a box with picture of candy on it. He said that his son accidently opened up the box thinking it was for him. The product came like the description said, just the controller and nothing else. The neighbor did give me the sheet of paper that came originally with the box too. besides the 4 directional buttons instead of 8, and arriving at a neighbors house, the controller works as expected. Its like new, the buttons and joy sticks need to be broken in, so thats good. I'll do that over the months with Dungeon Fighter Online. I'm glad I got my replacement. I hope it works for me for years to come.

Nice Product but,
I would have given this 4.5 stars if that was an option. This is a very nice controller and was plug and play usable. Installed the software just to get the programmability. That's where the rating went down. Programming it is not that intuitive, but after you get the hang of it, it's okay. It seems for the most part any game I wanted to play with it I didn't need to make a profile for it and it just worked. I'd recommend this to anyone who would like to use it out of the box, the programming part of it has a steep learning curve but beyond that it's a great product from Saitek.

Don't Buy
I bought one of these and the button layout is nice and controller fells good but there is one major problem. That problem is the d pad. I have had three of these type of controllers and one every one the d pad breaks off and I am forced to use nothing but the analog sticks.

Buyers beware.
You cannot uninstall the drivers that come with this. They have no uninstall utility, so if you ever want them off of your computer, or if they messed up your computer (like they did mine), then you're out of luck. I contacted saitek support about the issue, but got no response.

Not quite as useful as previous models
I've enjoyed using Saitek gamepads for awhile now due to their useful programmability combined with having a decent number of buttons. This model appears to have two more buttons than the P2500 (the 2500 and other similar models to it only had two shoulder buttons) but it actually has the same number since the two joysticks don't have the click-in-the-joystick-buttons. Mind you, the joysticks click in as if they were buttons, but they don't actually do anything. This makes the gamepad slightly less useful to me as I often set one of the joysticks to the mouse, and the built-in button as the mouse click. Using another button for the mouse click makes selecting things in various games a bit awkward and not as fast. The odd thing is, that according to their website the P990 and P2600 Wireless which use the same 4-shoulder-button model also apparently have working joystick buttons. As the rumble feature isn't particularly useful, IMO, and Wireless controllers have their own set of problems, I'd suggest tracking down a P990 instead.

It's a great little device that I use for emulation/some PC games
It's a great little device that I use for emulation/some PC games; But it's a little dated now. Newer models have come out and surpass this one, but that's okay- this one still handles emulation like a dream, I just wish there was a way to turn the sensitivity down a notch without a 3rd party application.
