Spektrum TM1000 DSMX Full-Range Aircraft Telemetry Module

I got this and the DX 9 transmitter to test them for our RC club. This product is very helpful. The battery monitor is worth the cost involved. Also you may want to get the battery connector to fit your set up and not solder the wires yourself. That approach also allows you to move the unit between planes if you don't have a unit for each plane. You will have to bind again but this unit has saved me twice in 3 months now. I have 3 of them on my most expensive planes as the battery management allows me to know the battery is failing or even once that it was discharging very fast as it was worn out. I know this little unit and the DX 9 or DX 7 transmitters will keep you a little safer from failures. Just added altimeter on one of them and it is really cool to know your over 400 feet.

I have had no issues with the unit. For similar telemetry units, the range is decent. It starts to lose signal around 600 meters in open air - far less than the actual reciever which operates much further. I only use it for voltage for now, but there are several different options for adding GPS data with add-on modules. If you use DJI NAZA, I recommend Any Sense products that get data directly from the PMU through the Can expansion port.

Great if you need/want telemetry for your RC vehicle ( primarily aircraft). Works with a few specific Spektrum receivers and a transmitters.

Wish I didn't buy this, for $10 more you can now get a 6 channel receiver with the TM1000 built in. And no, I'm not talking about Horizon's AR6363A scam, their new receivers actually have telemetry.

This is a useful unit, made obsolete by the new telemetry included receivers. My complaint is that the flight pack battery voltage is not accurate. I have measured the voltage with an accurate multimeter while under load and the TM1000 is off (reads low) by at least .1 volts, enough to make managing LiPos difficult. You have to create a conversion chart from the readout to actual voltage. It's off on all of the three units I've tried. Other brands allow you to calibrate voltage readout. Doesn't seem possible with Spektrum.

This is a great setup. I'm using it with my DX18 and T-Rex 700, I can keep an eye on engine temp, rpm, voltage remotely now. I have alarms setup for everything. I love it.

works very well. I really like the telemetry. The readout of the battery voltage on the transmitter is very useful.
