Good for its purpose!
Perfectly sized for the average booty, these were very helpful during my pregnancy. Really helps the swelling go down and reduces discomfort. They are a gel consistency, even when fully frozen, which is nice and comfortable. They only last about 15-20mins, which is the recommended time to put ice on anything before taking a break. Once you put them back in the freezer they get cold again in under an hour. And since it comes with two, you can swap them out if you need another session before that. They work best when sitting upright on a sturdy surface like a dining chair. My only complaint is that the little silicone holder you keep them in says "HEMORRWEDGE" on the front - not exactly discreet if you share a freezer with others. But they're small enough that I can bury them under all the frozen food when we have someone over and hope for the best 😳

Effective to reduce swelling and also, discomfort.
These are very effective, especially for the use of external hemorrhoids (my experience). I recommend having two sets of these (four total gels), particularly because, for me anyways, ten minutes of application and they aren’t cold anymore. And I’ll use between 2 to 4 of these gels during a one hour period, depending on time available. The way I use them: I put a gel into a Zip Lock bag (90 Snack size), which is about half-size of a regular sandwich bag, and then apply to the affected area. Leave for 10 or 15 minutes and then apply another if you so choose. I don’t recommend using any kind of cream during this application. Because the gel simply won’t stay put. Otherwise these gels will stay where you put them which is right up against the affected area. And I think the baggie used is a lot more sanitary and can be used again during this one hour period. It goes without saying, but use after doing your business and a shower. For me, I may use a cream especially formulated for Hemorroids, at night when going to bed (the only time I use the cream) and then in the morning it’s there when doing ‘your business’. Shower, using cold water on the affected area, and then apply the gels depending on time available. My advice (when you’re having this hemorrhoid issue), and if you drink coffee in the morning to start your day, consider showering after the coffee. And then apply the gels. In any case, I highly recommend these gels as a very effective treatment after a difficult ‘movement’, surgery of some kind (hernia, etc.), if you don’t or can’t have surgery on the affected area, and hemorrhoids in general. Edit: After reading some reviews I have further comments. Some have complained that the cover "just sits there". You must snap the cover shut at each end. You will hear a snap if done right. Some have complained about the product developing a "pinhole" or "leak". This may be developed if you use the same product continuously over a long period of time. My advise is to buy more than one set (I have four) and rotate their use over time. Further, don't sit upright with all your weight above the affected area. Sit in a chair like a La-Z-Boy which you can adjust so your weight is more evenly distributed. Or a bed with pillows behind your back. If you use this product correctly, and take care of the product, you will be happy with the results (as most of the reviewers are). This product is the best thing out there for relief as well as 'shrinkage' of the affected area.

Does the job and makes sitting bearable
Unlike many of the other reviewers of this product, I did NOT receive it for free or at a discounted rate, for whatever that is worth. I found it here and purchased it because I hoped it would help--and overall, I'm happy with the purchase and will buy more when these need replacing. It does what it says on the tin more or less. Most of the following observations are a mix of mostly good with a little "meh" and I hope they will help someone make a more informed decision: -These are VERY very cold at first. Some reviewers recommend wrapping it in a small plastic sandwich bag prior to use, and I second this, but I also recommend a small thin soft cloth or similar in addition to the plastic bag to keep the skin around your anus protected from the sharp initial cold. -Because of the small size and where they're placed on the body, they lose their chill somewhat quickly, but they also cool quickly, so between the two in the pack they work well. They may last longer when used lying down rather than sitting, but I've not tried that. -I have taken these out of the freezer at home, driven 20 minutes to school, and put them in place before my class began, and had them stay cool for about half an hour after placement, which is almost an hour out of the freezer. I'm totally okay with this duration. Underwear and the shape of my buttocks holds it in place more or less, and it's not visible from behind unless pants are skintight (which is terribly uncomfortable with hemorrhoids anyway). -They make sitting with hemorrhoids SO much more comfortable even after the chill fades. I have several two-hour classes with no breaks, and when I have a flare up those hard chairs get excruciating. These help even after they've warmed to body temperature, providing a soft, protective cushion between the sore spot and the hard chair. -I have an ample backside, and I wish that the item was a little flatter and wider rather than the quite rounded shape it has. While it is very flexible, I have to spread a little more than I'd like to get it in place and it feels a little odd, especially at first when the temperature keeps it more stiff. The shallow-bottomed among you should have no issue, though. It's not perfect, but it's so, so helpful to me and better than anything else I've tried for this particular use.

Feels so good! Omgg relief!
Full discloser, I’ve only been using these for two days so far. (I’ll try to update in a week). So to start with, I will say that I am an extremely obese person. So if you are thinner, this may not be your experience. The package I received came with both ice packs intact, mine didn’t have holes or anything like that. The container is ok, not the greatest, a little hard to snap shut, but it is really helpful because of where these ice packs end up, good to keep them separate from the food while in the freezer. For extra security you might want to also put them in a ziplock. But I do like the container, despite its faults. The form factor is perfect for my body. I experience no sharp edges like others have experienced. I am thinking maybe that is because I have more skin/fat in the area. They are extremely comfortable. I use them while laying down. I have heard of them breaking or bursting in other reviews so I will try to be careful not to sit on them. But so far so good. I’ve been using them several times over two days without any problems. Another thing I noticed people complaining about is that it doesn’t stay cold that long. I’d like to point out that between the butt is probably one of the warmest areas of your body. Even a typical ice cube would melt pretty quickly in there. These stay cold for me about 15 minutes. And honestly that is just right. It’s usually said to use ice between 10-20 minutes at a time. So this is the perfect length. It feels so very good on the hemorrhoids that you will probably want to leave it on even longer. Luckily this is a pack of two. So if you wanted a few extra minutes you can. I use one at a time for about 15 minutes, maybe 5-7 times throughout the day. The part that touches is a soft blue gel like feeling. So it feels really comfortable and painless. (For me at least). In a single day I noticed a reduction in hem size. Not a huge reduction, but some, so I am pleased. I really cannot say enough good things about these so far. I will try to update soon. Thank you for making this product!

This is a very good product
Edit on July 16: after using this for only a few days, one of the gel packs opened up slightly while I was sitting with it in place and started to leak gel. Luckily I was using a paper towel or it could have made a big mess. It had been in use for over 20 minutes and had started to soften but that shouldn't have happened. I'm changing my rating from 4 stars to 3. I've started a return Through Amazon but am buying another pack to replace it. Original review below. ------------------------------------ I've only ever had very small hemorrhoids that went away on their own after a couple of days until last week, when out of nowhere, I developed two very large, very painful ones. Preparation H and Vaseline didn't help much (and are very sloppy to use during the day) and ice was way too messy and wet, even when placed into a plastic baggie and put into a paper towel. I looked online and found this. I figured the price was good enough that I could afford it even if it didn't work. I've been using it a few times a night and once in the morning. I don't use it at work, but I think people could manage it in the right office environment with the right amount of discretion. I wrap it in a paper towel instead of using it bare for two reasons: 1) for cleanliness and 2) for temperature control. I can't say it has worked magic, but based on how I feel after using it and seeing the progress from the first few days, I think I can say with some confidence that it definitely helps reduce the size and pain level of the hemorrhoids but you have to use it more than just a couple of times. It cleans very thoroughly and easily in the sink with soap and freezes again in about an hour, so alternating between the two allows me to rest in between usage but still use it a few times a night after work. If there's a downside, it's that maybe they're slightly thicker than I'd like, so when I first put it into place and sit down can be a little bit uncomfortable, and sitting on harder surfaces with one of them in place can also cause a little bit of discomfort for the first few minutes, but you get used to it. I also found that coughing while I'm sitting with it in place is more painful than anything else during the day. For the price, I'd have to say I recommend this if you have hemorrhoids. And if you do, I empathize with you.

Using it Right Now! (Updated)
I am in the midst of battling a ferocious external thrombosed hemorrhoid. I bought this product out of desperation. In fact, Im using it right now!! Fits nicely and stays very cold for about 10-12 mins then moderately cold for another 15 or 20. It works best if used when seated, as it stays in position. I can carefully walk with it, but it moves it out of position. As for pain relief, yes, there is short term pain relief because the area is so cold. As for a cure......if cold helps a thrombosed ‘rhoid, then I will be in good shape .... but Im skeptical that anything will help short of time or a doctor’s scalpel (or band). Update: So, I am maybe 6 days past my initial review. My Massive rhoid started to subside 2 days after I started using the wedges. Of course, I have no idea if the two are related. But I will say this - I had a doctors appointment to get the rhoid banded, and cancelled it becuz it was subsiding. There is simply not enough data to positively say the wedges made any difference. That said, I am still using them and will make it part of my Rhoid Routine (advil and 2.5% hydrocortisone) going forward. Good luck! Update: 1/26. For the past few days I've had searing pain that I mostly ignored but New was a rhoid. I went to the gym yesterday and left after about 20 minutes because I felt gross and my ass hurt. I use the wedges last night while watching the Fiesta Bowl..... I did two cycles.... and as I sip my coffee the next morning I feel so much better. I'm doing another cycle right now. I'm not using anything but the wedges. Has made a huge difference this time.

Unergonomic buttcrack size
Giant size hemorrhoid wedge. I'm not sure about everybody else, but I don't have hemorrhoids halfway up my buttcrack . This thing is twice as long as it should be and too blunt should be more wedge shaped so that it goes deeper in the cleft. The design is basically a lazy, untested, half -thought-out slob job money grab from desperate people, typical of modern capitalism.
