This is a super convenient device for making older car models bluetooth enabled. Though there is a bit of sound quality loss, but it is still good enough. Taking calls, playing music and maps is very seamless. 30 sec installation and very tiny device.

The Portronics AUTO 12 is a great little device! Super easy to set up and connects quickly every time. The sound quality is clear, with no dropouts or static. It’s made my old car stereo feel brand new with Bluetooth functionality. Totally worth it!

I bought this for my Etios Liva which has company fitted audio system without AUX input. I jerry-rigged input into the Radio audio channels from this receiver. I select AM radio and have unplugged the radio signal wire from the stereo to minimise any noise. It works great and call quality is awesome just thst there is some delay when I play or pause my music. Two issues I have with the product are as follows (hence the 3 star rating): 1. The output is severely detuned. To test these first I connect my Sennheiser headphones using a female to female AUX adapter and could barely hear anything from the headphones even at full volume. This is probably done by portronics assuming that every car stereo has an amplifier which will boost the sound signal hence to allow normal usage of volume controls they have reduced the output from the receiver. In my case, my stereo doesn't amplify radio signals much so the volume has to be kept near 75 percent to enjoy the music. 2. Sound quality is not good. I bought this as I read this is using bluetooth 5.1 and I assumed it would support atleast AAC or even SBC. But alas, my Poco F5 with Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 doesn't recognise this bluetooth receiver having any modern audio codec. So in my case the lower output volume and high compression in bluetooth transmission caused severe downfall in quality even though I was playing FLAC files using PowerAmp music player. Also a point to note is that I tried using Hi-Res output option in PowerAmp specifically to test these but that actually reduces audio quality compared to normal output. This also confirms my theory of this is not actually bluetooth 5.0. For comparison, my car stereo supports playing through iPod and the difference was night and day! M4A lossless files play like you are sitting in the actual recording studio and even music played from youtube sounds drastically better than FLAC files played using this receiver. In the end it didn't fully serve my purpose of playing higher quality music through bluetooth in my car stereo but the hands-free works good enough.

I drive a Hyundai accent 2014, so there's no Bluetooth option. I've tried aux cables but that wasn't convenient at all, I couldn't make hands-free calls and constant plugging in/out was annoying. I've tried some Bluetooth devices, but charging yet another thing was too much, I'd forget often, and the sound was really bad, especially during calls. This little thing finally fixed all of it. It comes with 2 velcro sticky pads, so the part with the mic and buttons can be placed anywhere you want. The cable could've been longer, but it's not too short either. It's great that its always plugged in, so there's no charging. I've tested the call quality while driving, with AC on top (these usually made the call impossible), and they all said it sounds great. Overall, amazing device for anyone that doesn't have the option in their car!

For those who listen to old-fashioned CD players in their cars, this product is advised. Since just connecting the phone into the auxiliary port to connect it via Bluetooth could have been helpful. It is a recommended product for people who use old, conventional-type audio players in their cars. Because it could have helped to connect the mobile phone via Bluetooth by simply plugging it into the auxiliary port. After all, it seemed quite expensive product to me.
