Great product, simple, lightweight
This is a great product for dialing in the temperature and humidity of a particular area or room. We really think this is the way to go for expanding the level of data we can pull from our garden, using these gauges to extract meaningful details. This gauge took a bit to get running only because the instructions do not explicitly say that WiFi is required to pair the device. The instructions provided elude that only with Bluetooth enabled the device will pair with your phone using the Engbird app. This will fail to pair until your phone has connection to a wife source. At this point, it should connect no problem. Another user interface note to mention is that the initial setup of the device makes it seem as though your options are very limited concerning how you can have the gauge monitor certain humidity and temperature ranges. There are 6-7 profiles to choose from but they might not capture the range you are looking for. This is okay, just select one profile that is close to the range you are looking for and once selected a new window will pop up allowing to dial in the ranges to your desire.

Home Info Center: no widgets
I got this sensor to help create an "information center" out of an old iPad, for use in my RV. This just involves setting up the home screen of the pad with widgets from various apps like weather, calendar, etc. Using iOS widgets lets me make a flexible, easy-to-read display that's user friendly. I wanted a Bluetooth sensor because I don't have a wifi router in my RV. I downloaded the "Inkbird" app before purchasing and confirmed that the app offers widgets. Unfortunately I didn't realize that app is only for their WiFi products. For Bluetooth devices, you need the "Engbird" app instead. This IS mentioned in the product description....way down near the bottom. I missed it. The Engbird app for this sensor does not offer widgets. Aside from that, the sensor seems to perform correctly. The documentation and app use pretty sloppy English -- moreso than most obviously-imported products that you find on AMZ -- but it's all perfectly usable. The case opens with a screwdriver to replace the two AAA batteries, which seems like a lot of power compared to other devices that run on a coin cell. These sensors will probably go for a *very* long time between battery changes. I couldnt' tell you for sure though, since I'm returning : )

These are the best for reptile cages!!
These are the only temp and humidity gauges I will use in my reptile cages. I’ve been using these for over 2 years and have yet to have any failures. I started with 1 and soon got 3 more. What makes them last is their waterproof! Mine are in cages that all have misters that go off every day. All the others get wet or humidity affects them and they’re done! Not these, and the best part is the app on my phone that keeps track of daily activity. So I can be sure that the average temperature and humidity is correct for the last week, month, or even year. That helps me set my misters to go off when needed and not to much. Pay the extra for these vs. what the reptile industry sells, you won’t be sorry!

Stopped pairing with Bluetooth after 5 days. Very disappointed.
So far working great. Have it in my chest freezer. I use the app to check temperature. I receive notification on paired Bluetooth cell phone if temperature falls outside the temp range I specified. I will NOT receive notification if not home as it uses Bluetooth, not Wi-Fi. I can view temps for day, week or month with graph. Can set it to measure every 10 sec, 30 sec, 1 min, 10 minutes, 30 minutes or less often. I have it set for every 30 minutes for now. Display on app shows temp on freezer staying within one degree of zero. Now I can know if freezer not cold so don't lose all my food. Be sure to use lithium batteries to handle cold in freezer. UPDATE: Stopped pairing with Bluetooth after 5 days so now useless. Cannot determine temp.

Neat new toy for the grow station
Overall it is very solid at the price point. What I appreciate is the small profile, as well as the hole drilled in the corner. Makes it easy to hang at whatever height is necessary to make sure we’re getting accurate climate readings. I placed it along side a lower tech thermometer and hydrometer, and the readings were than 1% of one another, so barring any major calibration issues with either I’d say it is fairly accurate. It’s nice to be able to check on the phone, and despite other reviews as long as I am within the vicinity the chart functionality seems to work as well. Nothing is too surprising since I grow in the basement, so the temperature fluctuations are not too prevalent. Only critique at this point is that it did not come with AAA batteries, and being 2021 I would hope that everything is either rechargeable with lithium batteries, or batteries are included.

I received a dirty and used product
I purchased the inkbird Bluetooth thermometer and humidity indicator as a new and unused product, and when my order got here the box it shipped in was perfectly fine and undamaged. The inkbird box inside, however, was a little different. Both tamper evident seals had been sliced and already had some coco coir on it along with some dirty fingerprints, and when I opened the box the manual and the thermometer itself also showed signs of being handled before by unwashed hands. This included fingerprints. From an integrity point of view, advertising an item as new and sending a customer a used and dirty product is a pretty foul way of doing business imo and from one business owner/gardener to another you get what you give and reap what you sow so, good luck to you on that. I understand it’s intended to get a little banged up and dirty, but if I wanted it to be like that when I got it I would have purchased a used one. This part of my review is about the principle behind these sorts of ethics and how something like that can have a direct impact on your business. As far as the product itself, once I put the batteries in it took a while to connect to my phone’s Bluetooth. I sat there for a good half hour with my phone right next to it, on top of it, beneath it, tilted towards it at a slight angle, at a -slightly- more slight angle, upside down, facing each other, facing away, you name it. Couldn’t get it to connect. Bluetooth was fully functioning and enabled, etc. I felt like Hansel in Zoolander when they can’t find the files “in the computer”. Like, WHY is this so difficult?? It shouldn’t be this difficult. Is it me? Is it the app? Is this a broken device? Did I get scammed?? Am I going to have to return this?? I just want a little thermometer to tell me how my greenhouse is doing! Ugh. I gave up and took a breath, came back to it one last time and laughingly said “watch it just mysteriously connect this last time” and somehow it did. Didn’t do anything different, it just decided to connect. So whatever, at least I have it connected now, and I got a bit of a laugh out of it, yeah? Well now onto the functionality itself. The readings it gives me are, for the most part, accurate enough. I don’t need it to have marksman precision, I just want to be able to check on my garden temperatures without having to drop what I’m doing and go find out, and I just need it reliable and close enough to see and know that my plants aren’t freezing or burning. The humidity indicator is a bit skewed though. But at least I know this and I can keep this in mind when I get the readings. All this to say, I would feel it would be more worth the money if I felt I was receiving the brand new product I initially paid for. I prefer buying secondhand/used and I don’t like buying brand new things if I can avoid it, but with devices like this I do buy new. I’m likely a one-off scenario, and I don’t usually go out of my way to write reviews like this, but I was really disappointed in the condition of the product I got. It was a little gift for myself and it was already tampered with? But hey, it does work.

I couldn't be happier with the Inkbird Wireless Humidity & Temp Monitor, IBS-TH2 Freezer Thermometer
We have a 3700 sq ft two-story house built in 1890. I bought this last summer (July 2021) concerned with the high humidity in our semi-finished basement and if the dehumidifier was doing its job. This is important to me because the basement isn't easily accessed from inside our home so I liked the idea of watching it on my phone app. I watch it now in winter because one year a basement window blew out/broke causing it to freeze and burst the water pipes in our basement during a brutally cold and windy stretch of Illinois winter. I can easily check the current and past temp and humidity history even from two stories up laying in bed at night. I bought this in July, as I mentioned, and now in January after logging the temperature and humidity EVERY MINUTE since (which I can graph and analyze if I wanted to), I'm still at 72% battery life! What's not to love? UPDATE: I just replaced battery after over a year of one minute interval readings. Great product.

Good devices but you need rechargeable batteries.
I really like the accuracy as well as the speed of the updates from these devices. The downside to these as they go through batteries a LOT. I usually get about 2.5 to 3 weeks out of a set of batteries. I bought some amazon basics rechargeables and that's made me a lot happier with these as I just change the batteries out with the rechargeables so its not as expensive as they were when I first started using them. I have 3 of these devices, one outside and 2 in my freezers. I don't use their app at all, I have these devices added into my Home Assistant instance via some Shelly and ESPHome Bluetooth proxy's. In this setup I am happy with these devices and am very happy with having regular monitoring of my freezers.

Convenient and easy to use!
Finally, a temperature logger that you only have to install the batteries and set the logging rate. And it's cheap too!
