Great BBQ
BBQ'ing is essential with our family. I bought this as a gift for the in-laws being that's where we typically get together and they had one of those small round ones that took waaaaay to long to get everything cooked, so I got them an upgrade. This BBQ is the perfect size, and we love the grill crank function that allows us to raise/lower the cooking height. Very easy to use and a great value for the different functions it offers (side tables, center coal door, height control, and smoke control).

Worth the money mine is 2 years old now
We have had this grill for 2 years now ! We grill 90% of the time weekdays and weekends ! We have never had a charcoal grill last this long. Absolutely love it and definitely worth the money. The temperature it holds is amazing . The only downside of this grill as I’ve seen in others is the charcoal tray. It does the tilt issue like it warping and hopefully the manufacturer can correct this issue with a better grade of material.

Decent Grill for Decent Price
Pros: This is a nice grill considering it was not as expensive as others on the market. It's pretty big so I was able to fit a lot at once, which was nice because I hate the batch cooking process. Once assembled it looks very sleek. The grates are ceramic coated, which I liked because my last grill rusted pretty quickly. Cons: The bottom plate came dented. Assembly is annoying. The instructions are pretty clear. It labels everything by number. The problem is that the parts themselves (besides the hardware) are not labeled at all. You have to look at the pictures and match that way. I also would like instructions as to how the inside charcoal holder should sit. It had shifted in transit and I had to play with it for a while to get it to move up and down.

Very durable!
I’m posting this about a week ahead of FOUR years after purchasing this grill. I couldn’t be happier with it! I use it all the time… I’m in Florida so I grill all year round. Only now after four years is the coal tray staring to fatigue and a couple spots near a couple holes are deteriorating from all the extreme heat of the lump charcoal I prefer to use. I figure another year or two, and if it gets too bad I’ll just toss it and buy a brand new one. Hey, if I get 5-6 years out of this thing and use it many hundreds of times that’s a heck of a good product at a great price! Note: I keep a cover on the grill, and it’s under the roof in my lanai. If you buy ANY grill and leave it out in the weather (especially if not covered) then you have no right to complain if it ever rusts!

Great grill!
Got this for my husband as a replacement of an old grill he had! He loves it!! It was easy to assemble, the handle to raise and lower the coals for temperature control is awesome.

Poor Design
Very poor quality hardware... The screws are made of inferior steel - the phiips head stripped on several. Much too difficult to assemble. Many screws pass through open volumes between two thin sheet metal parts so there is no positive "tightened point"... The metal just bends. The grill has openings all over the bottom that can't be closed off so temp control has its limits. This grill feels like half the weight as the last I had (Charbroil). The lid has rubber bumpers that meet the base (I suppose so it sounds nice when it closes???). All that does is let more air in. Appears to be designed by people who don't know what's important in grills and have little to no experience in human factors, industrial design, and mechanical design practice.

Everything I Wanted!
So, I can't speak to the longevity at all as I've only had my grill setup for about a week. And I can't speak to the assembly as I payed and waited for the expert assembly. But initially, it's working out great. The directions say not to let the tempature get above 400 degrees Fahrenheit or you can begin to damage the finish, and I figured out if I fill my charcoal chimney about 70% up tops and only poor charcoal on the right half of the pan by the side vent, then my tempature stays around 300 degrees with the lid shut and both the side and top vent open. I love how I can raise the charcoal pan to the top for browning the meat, and then lower it to the bottom and shut the lid. Looking forward to using this a ton all summer. I like it a ton more than my basic old Weber grill that I just threw out. I saw plenty of bad reviews, but took the chance anyway. As long as it holds up for a few years, well worth the low price. Best part for me, being so forgetful, is when I'm done grilling and cleaning, I can shut the lid and vents and just open the front panel to let the charcoal burn out. And if I forget to go out and shut that later, not much rain is gonna get in it anyway. Basically, I wanted my whole grilling experience to be easier with this, and so far, it is so much easier than my old Weber. 100% honest unpaid review. I know it's hard to trust Amazon reviews.

Very Poor Quality Control and NO Customer Service
Lets start with the instructions. Overall not to bad but not enough detail to avoid some redo work. Put it together only to find that if the directions were better you wouldn't be taking it apart to put it together differently. Next, pay close attention to the parts. In step 16, the last step tells you to screw in four bolts to the legs. In my case one of the legs wasn't made right so there was nowhere to screw the bolt into. Maybe would have seen this in step 1 if the instructions were more detailed. Oh, and the bottom tray came out of the box with a big ole dent and bend in it. No damage to the box so the messed up part had to be put in the box that way. Quality Control? None! I am now the owner of a brand new Royal Gourmet grill that can't be completly assembled and looks like it's been hit with a baseball bat. They make sure you know to contact them (Royal Gourmet) not Amazon if you have questions or problems, so I did. After a week of daily emails back and forth they decided to send me a replacement leg, a new bottom shelf and $15. I guess they think my time to disassemble and reassemble thier product is only worth $15, or about $7.50 an hour! I am really disappointed in the quality of the product and Royal Gourmets attempts to do as little as possible to correct the issues. Actually I felt insulted at the $15 payment. If i hadn't already had it assembled and disposed of the box I would have shoved it back in the box and sent it back! I know one thing, I will Never Buy a Royal Gourmet product again, and I strongly suggest you don't either. It simply isn't worth the money, time or effort involved in getting a truly 2nd class product! Update: Less than 2 months old and it is rusting! Rust has appeared at all the joints. The warranty excludes rusting. Guess they knew this was going to happen. Also, be prepared to use lots of charcoal. The metal is so thin it has no insulating ability so the grill doesn't hold heat very well resulting in the need to drastically increase the amount of fuel required to get it hot and keep it hot. Spend your money wisely and buy something other than this. It is a waste of fuel, money and time!

It’s very bad quality
I don’t advise anybody to buy it,It’s shameful to produce such bad quality and sell it in this high price. I hope I can get my money back
