Leven Rose Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil 100% Pure Organic Unrefined Cold Pressed for Hair Skin and Nails - 1 oz

I purchased Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil from Leven Rose and was immediately impressed at how smooth and silky this oil is. It's nothing short of fantastic! The oil itself is a "clear" red, versus a solid "blood red" meaning you can still see through it in much the same manner as any clear oil of the many organic cold pressed all natural oils that are clear with a tint (or more) of yellow. My girlfriend and I apply a number of oils to each other nightly after our hot bath and cool shower (what fun!) and we love how smooth this oil is and the way it absorbs quickly into the skin. We use a number of oils to moisturize our bodies (Jojoba, Argan, Coconut, Vitamin E Serum Jojoba Oil, Amaki Certified Organic Essential Oil(s)/seven organic oils in one, Rosehip Seed Oil/Serum and many more) having recently added Pumpkin Seed Oil & Carrot Seed Oil from Leven Rose. (Read My Reviews on these two and the others noted above/recently received Kukui Nut Oil and Pomegranate Seed Oil is on the way.. Just ordered Moringa Oil.. all from Leven Rose) We're using this oil as a body moisturizer in conjunction with the several others already noted. This oil, much like Pumpkin Seed Oil is like liquid fur literally, as it goes on that smooth! It absorbs quickly into the skin and that moisture is retained overnight.. (Very similar to Rosehip Seed Oil) Even after showering in the morning the oil is still present in our skin.. That "glow" is still there, so there's no need to reapply this oil until the evening, much like high quality Jojoba, Argan or Rosehip Seed Oil.. (Pumpkin Seed Oil & Carrot Seed Oil display similar characteristics as well) Now that is amazing! Remember, a little goes a long way, so use it very sparingly, as we do. As for application to our hair, just a few drops (two to three maximum) after our morning shower leaves our hair, much like most organic, cold pressed all natural unrefined oils for body/skin and hair very smooth, conditioned, moisturized and full. Our hair has never looked better! As for our hair "down there" ie pubic hair and application as a body oil we're a bit more liberal with this oil. Whatever application you use this oil for, you simply cannot go wrong! In a word.. Superb! We order body/skin/hair oils from many companies and we've found Leven Rose's products to be the very best, and their customer/product support after the purchase is outstanding. Don't hesitate to add this oil to your inventory of daily oils and conditioners.. You'll absolutely loved it! We Do!!

I like this oil a lot. It is one of my first experiences consistently using a face oil, so while I’m not an expert in using face oils, and I don’t practice the oil cleansing method, I wanted to take the time to leave a thorough review. I usually use this oil after I wash my face and apply any RX topicals I use, but underneath my moisturizer. I purchased it specifically because I was concerned with the changing skin texture around my eyes and to use with my gua sha Stone. Nothing crazy, I’m in my early 20s, but I wanted to feel like I was being proactive. Every time I use it, my boyfriend comments on how my skin looks glowing and luminous the next day, and he has no idea I’ve used it. I’ve seen some improvement in the skin texture right by my lower and upper outer corner eyelid junction. After a couple of days of use though I would say the pores on my nose and the pores on my chin and cheeks looked a little more clogged, but to remedy this I exfoliated and used a prescription topical antibiotic from my dermatologist and the next day things looked pretty clear again. But that is why I would say, if you have acne prone skin or are prone to blackheads, just take care in your application. Definitely don’t get your face too slick. With that said, I wouldn’t say you should avoid this oil because it definitely has skincare benefits, just use as needed, and watch for any skin changes after use. The way I use it now is more sparingly in my t zone, but generously on my eye area, as well as making sure I’m applying AFTER cleansing, and incorporating it into my routine as I see fit, instead of necessarily daily. I’ve been using it along with a vitamin e oil for two weeks now and I’m loving how soft and glowy my skin looks most of the time. I also think it’s shifted my combination skin to a little more “normal.” The seller even contacted me upon delivery to see if everything arrived and met my expectations. Very great customer service by Leven Rose. Im about 1/10th through the bottle so I see this lasting me at least 3 or 4 months. I’m excited to try more of their products, and I’d recommend this product to anyone interesting in trying to incorporate quality oils into their skincare routine. EDIT: Made a change and started Oil Cleansing Method for about 6 months now. The way I was using it prior caused some clogging, but using it as an oil to wash my face does not! This is a fantastic light oil perfect for cleansing. I mix with a Rosehip oil and massage into damp skin, as I would if I were using a traditional cleanser. I splash with warm water many times, then use a damp cloth or facial scrub to remove excess residue, and continue my routine as I would normally. Let me tell you, my skin effing glows and is elastic AF. Heard about the treasure that is sea buckthorn seed oil from big time esthetician Danna Omari, and I’ll never look back. Updated review, Nov 2nd: I've been using this plus a Vitamin C cream exclusively for over a month now. After about a week, the slight burning I was experiencing stopped. My face is completely normal. Skin is soft, zero redness, no breaking out, no product sensitivity. I've used it under liquid foundation a few times and my makeup looked fantastic and lasted all day. This product is pure gold. Original review from Oct 20th: I've been having a pretty severe issue with redness and pain on the lower half of my face, thanks to having to wear masks all the time and probably because I'm in my 40's. I have purchased so many oils and lotions trying to find a product that did something to help it, but nothing has. Stumbled on this product and decided to buy it. It arrived the next day, so I decided to apply it before bed since I had read another reviewer used it at night exclusively. It absorbed pretty immediately and didn't leave an orange tone even though it's really dark (it also didn't stain my white pillowcase). I felt a very slight burning sensation where my face is predominantly red as I was trying to go to sleep, but nothing major. Woke up the next day, and my face looked absolutely normal for the first time in two years!! It was soft, the redness was gone, and my face didn't hurt! I wore a mask for a decent part of the day and my face still didn't turn red or hurt! The second day I decided to apply it a few hours before bed. I got the slight burning sensation again and saw that my face was reddish in those specific areas (mainly around the pores next to my nose/under my eyes). But that went away after about an hour, went to bed, and once again woke up looking and feeling completely normal. I cannot properly express how incredible it is for my skin to not be in constant pain. It's only been two days, but I hope this continues to work long term.

So let me start by saying I had not had any real problems with my skin until around April this year. Out of nowhere I developed painful, deep, never-healing acne around my jawline and pores clogged everywhere else. It was a huge hit to my self esteem and my social life and anyone who has bad skin will understand what I am saying. No matter what I did or how much makeup I had I never felt comfortable leaving my house. I had typical hormonal acne every month that I would combat with daily Acne Free face wash and a little spot treatment that worked well UNTIL the summer from hell. I read about what type of acne I had developed and started drowning in water, witch hazel, turmeric masks, ACV, tanning, anti inflammatories... you name it, I tried it. Nothing helped. So I cried a lot and continued to obsess about how to get “my” skin back. I read an article (who knows how credible it was, but I was desperate to find an answer) written by a dermatologist (again questionable) who discussed using different combinations of oils and vitamins to clear skin up without causing any permanent damage such as acne scars and wrinkles (from over-drying or drying out a pimple too fast). He talked about how oils work with the skin. One of his must try’s was the sea buckthorn so I ordered it along with primrose vitamins and castor oil. I started with castor and sea buckthorn mix on the left side of my face and just he sea buckthorn on the right. Other than the amount of oil that sat on the top of my skin I did not see any huge difference. The castor oils is very thick and didn’t absorb well but also did not break me out so I still use it at night occasionally. The sea buckthorn oil is very moisturizing, to the point where my scars and scabs would heal in a day or two (compared to the weeks it was taking prior to the oils). I am still getting clogged pores and occasionally pimples but nothing compared to what I was a month ago. I have a few small pimples pop up compared to the deep huge ones from before. I will say, be prepared to be oily. Be prepared not to wear makeup after applying it and be patient. I have been using it twice a day for a month and will keep using it forever. My skin feels healthier that it ever has despite the pimples. It is soft and glowing and recovers quickly.

I started to use this a couple of months ago to keep the skin on my face smooth. I'm a senior and have always taken care of my skin. Lately, though, I've found it harder to keep the skin as soft and even. I mix this with serum or moisturizer, or sometimes use it on its own. It started working immediately, making my skin very soft to the touch. Given how expensive skin care products are, this is a bargain. It works at least as well as the commercially available products, if not better.

**Update** 11/6/18 I decided to update my review to 5 stars for two reasons: 1) I forgot to mention that the seller packed the bottle thoughtfully with a coupon for a free bottle and it arrived with not a single impairment and 2) I decided after a couple more weeks of consistent use that my own solutions posed below (for mild acne sufferers) work out just fine with this oil and my skin is feeling soft and smooth again. As stated below, after using Rosehip Seed oil, I then use the Sea Buckthorn oil on top, lightly, and then follow up with a bit of spot or pre-spot treatment using either my EpiDuo or Grease Lightning from Lush. My skin really looks great and again, a little risk of acne is so worth what this product does for my rosacea. (FYI Herbalism from Lush is also my one true holy grail facial cleanser and helps tremendously with combating acne, so that plays a part too.) **Original Review** This product works sooo well for my mild rosacea, and for the overall softness and smoothness of my skin. After a couple of weeks of use, I noticed an amazing smoothness to my skin! However, I also noticed quite a few more breakouts than normal, especially on my cheeks, where I rarely get breakouts. After a bit of research, I found that sea buckthorn oil doesn't necessarily have any components that cause acne, but it has a very low concentration of linoleic acid, which helps prevent acne. I'd call my skin somewhat acne-prone. (When I take care of my skin, I have very little acne. When I get lax on my skincare routine, I get lots of breakouts.) .Anyway, I found a couple of sites that suggested using an oil with high amounts of linoleic acid first, to balance out Sea Buckthorn Oil's lack of linoleic acid. This has helped me greatly. I layer it lightly on top of Trilogy's Rosehip Oil (also amazing for rosacea, acne, skin tone,) and avoid areas that I tend to get acne. For me, this is the center of my forehead, and the sides of my chin. I do still use the Sea Buckthorn on my cheeks, where I was getting random breakouts, but in conjunction with the Rosehip Oil, I have not had any more problems with acne in that spot. I was already using Rosehip Oil in the mornings, and I used Sea Buckthorn at night. Now I simply use Rosehip both in the morning and at night, and use Sea Buckthorn only at night. For those of you wanting smoother, softer, more supple skin, this product is amazing. And again I have to stress how much it helps with my rosacea, which is the first component I'm concerned with when checking out skincare products. That's actually what initially drew me to trying out sea buckthorn oil. Just be warned about its possible tendency to cause minor breakouts.

I have used products that cost a fortune, and while I have always enjoyed a beautiful complexion (redhead) there came a time when misfortune struck in the form of Angular Cheilitis. This dreaded disease is little understood, very painful and quite ugly. AC begins with soreness around the mouth which turns to cracks in the corners of the lips, the skin begins to shed, the sores and pain get worse. One finds themselves licking their lips to ease the pain, but the lips begin to peel and bleed and eventually makes its way to the cracks, where the skin appears grayish and flakey. Nothing, not one single cream, ointment, absolutely nothing helped. Pages and pages of chat rooms of shared agony and despair, cries for help-yet no worthwhile results. I was reading some reviews one day and just happened to stumble across some on Sea Buck Thorn Seed oil (SBTSO) and and the claims she made astonished me! OK let me stop here and clarify this: there are two different types of SBTO. SBTBO is made from the entire berry of the plant, but the SBTSO is made only from the seeds of the plant. Essentially they are the same except what distinguishes them from one another is that the oil made from the berry (think color to remember this-has a reddish-orange cast that can stain nearly everything, skin, linens, etc., you get the picture. It can cause a bit of snickering to go for a massage and walk out the door looking quite orange because the berries stain even the skin! Seed oil on the other hand does not stain but is quite nutritious to the skin. The review also discussed the effect seed oil (SO) has on Demodex mites which are mites that get into ones eyelashes, burrow into the skin making tiny eruptions that can be mistaken for acne. They are uncomfortable and embarrassing. She had struggled with the mites for a long time. She also mentioned that SBSO is very effective for women who suffer from painful intercourse because they no longer produce the moisture necessary to enjoy sex. Ah Ha! That was the part I was interested in. Did it work-you bet it did and relatively quickly too! I immediately read more reviews to study pro vs cons of the best brand and began the miraculous experience that is SBTO, when to use the seed oil and when to use the berry oil! I could talk for hours about SBSO but I have taken up too much space so I will encourage you to Google Alexander the Great/Sea Buckthorn to understand what a miracle this product is and the many healing benefits the oils have. Once you have had an opportunity to use this wonderful product in your skin care routine you will wonder how you ever did without it. It can also be taken orally to aid in one's health. Seriously, the more you research this wonderful product in it's two forms, the more benefits you will find and the products will become a necessity to you-an absolute necessity~*~
