Like most other reviewers
Like most other reviewers, I bought this lens for spinning tops. I have a large precision top collection from several manufacturers in the USA and abroad. My favorites companies that sell spin tops include JL Lawson, Lance Barnett, and Focus Works. I also have the Prometheus top, which another reviewer mentioned. I just spun the Prometheus top two times on this lens and it got spin times of 8 mins or more both times. I can definitely suggest using this lens for spinning tops. It works as good as or better than the mirrors (which i also have) and it looks way better and more interesting on display in an office or on a shelf.

im happy with the purchase
For the purpose of spinning tops, its good. Mine came with what looks like faint watermarks on one side that covers about 10% of the spinning area. im sure i can buff it out. both sides arw concave which adds to the longevity of having a spin surface just in case you chip or scratch the other side for some reason my shipment was delayed by a week but i wont fault the product for that Update: If you have expensive tops. The edge of this glass base may scuff the bottom of your top if you happen to overspin where the top flies off the glass. It just happened to me as a result to unfinished edges of the glass. Not fault of the glass itself since it is not meant for spinning tops, just something to keep in mind.

Bought this Eisco Optical Glass Lens to help me with my art projects and I am delighted by the quality of the lens. Wondering if there is a holder available for it. Bought two more for friends in my class.
