Would this work on a car's hard, uncomfortable driver's side arm rest?

Woukld these work as an a insole, not stand alone, but for added shock absorbsion?

I've not tried that application, but I would expect that they would work. I used the sheets to cushion a piece of countertop on a washer and dryer that it is standing up (pardon the pun!) to that wear and tear very well.

I need the shock-absorbing quality of the foam, but I also cannot have the foam absorbing liquids. Is the foam "sealed" on the top surface?
