I promise it’s not opaque
I keep seeing reviews of these where people are upset because they’re not see through and they don’t think it’s a film. you don’t really think zilla manufactured all of these plastic panes, looked at all the opaque ones, set them aside, did zero quality control, and threw all of the defect pieces this enclosure requires into boxes together as a funny little prank to you? they have a film on them. scratch it with your finger. scratch the edges until it lifts. there is no pull tab. you’ll be able to see your animal when the film is off. be aware that it’s made of plastic, and animals that need too much heat and humidity living in them will cause the plastic to warp. these are marketed as invert enclosures and **temporary** reptile enclosures because they do not provide the space for heating or lighting fixtures for reptiles and amphibians and no reptile is suitable for this enclosure. no, not even ball pythons, they benefit from large enclosures and enrichment. the enclosure is good for tarantulas. I bought them for tarantulas. they’re good for this intended purpose. if you have a tarantula get these. they’re probably good for millipedes. I’d be stoked if zilla made an even larger one because larger aquariums with mesh lids can hurt tarantulas (mesh can break fangs off). the lid sometimes makes a kind of crunchy sound when it’s opened because it’s plastic but that may also be user error because I might be putting too much pressure on those tiny hinges. it’s secure with barely any gaps in the sides and lid but be aware that if you have a small animal that likes to squeeze itself into small spaces it will be doing that to this enclosure because those tiny gaps are available. overall very good for its price as long as you don’t overestimate it, you don’t put a lizard or a tiny little jumping spider in it, and you don’t make the humidity 99% at all times

Missing piece
Was excited for this terrarium. Unfortunately, the product arrived with one wall of the terrarium missing. If complete product was in box, it would’ve worked great I’m sure.

Great for my isopod breeder tank
I got this Small Terrestrial habitat to house my Dairy Cow Isopods, using it as a breeder tank. It feels a lot more fragile than I expected, particularly the lock and I have a strong feeling I will break the lock rather quickly. Luckily I'm handy and will come up with a lock after it breaks, even if it's just a zip tie so I'm not worried, just a little disappointed as I bought this specifically for the locking feature. I'm terrible at putting things together but I did and fairly quickly after a couple failed attempts. The directions were ok, but I need more specific instructions or I struggle. I wish I had put the prepped/moistened substrate in the bottom piece FIRST, before I put it together, because the static was unreal and some of the dry substrate and sphagnum moss flew against and stuck to the new, pretty, clear acrylic and I had to clean it, which was a pain. The substrate and moss are still wet 24 hours later and only the bottom piece shows humidity on the acrylic so I think it has good ventilation while still able to maintain some humidity. **Update** Just a few days after setup, I opened it to remove the molding food to see I have isopod babies already! This is very exciting since I've tried breeding others before but never in a small breeding tank. I've had some in a 10gal for over a year and still zero babies, but less than a week in this and I have babies! I think they're happy in there.

Surprisingly awesome!
I bought a small one for a young tarantula. When I got it. It was SUPER easy to put together and it holds up great. Worth the money. I have much more expensive enclosures for my Ts and I almost feel I wasted my money on them because these are just as good, just a little different. I wish the lids slid open instead of lifting up but that's really my only complaint. I have since purchased a large size and two more small ones. Pics included of the large size.

Budget enclosures
Have used all of these except the large arboreal, but assume it falls under the large terrestrial’s problems. Firstly want to say the smaller version is fine and probably the intended use of this design. The lid will warp downwards a little and the thing is held together by rubber bands but that’s the only real downside for a $20 enclosure. Had terrestrial slings thrive in this (make sure the lock hole is always inaccessible for them when away) and while it’s a little big for baby arboreals, it does work, especially for juveniles. The large is not something I would ever permanently keep one of my tarantulas in. It could use two more inches in height but the issue almost entirely lies with the horrible lid. I’ve used it as a temporary enclosure between waiting for a rehouse to come in and that’s it. Compared to the small, the larger lid has an extra area in the middle to connect with that’s a pain and really startles the tarantula, especially as you struggle to line up the sliders. The sides warp so the lid is always in danger of slipping off when you open it, which can also endanger a fragile animal like a tarantula. A lot of reviews seem to be from people who just put this thing together an hour ago and have yet to see the warping after it encounters the slightest bit of humidity. 3 stars overall because the smaller versions aren’t bad, even great on a budget. Large is a solid 1. If you liked the small, do not upgrade to this.

Better than other small acrylic enclosures.
This is made better than other small acrylic enclosures I've seen. • Crystal clear acrylic • Integrated tray • Positive locking mechanism The base is a tray instead of just another sheet of acrylic. With most of these enclosures you need to silicone the bottom seams to prevent substrate from leaking out. On this one the substrate is contained within the integrated tray. Also this has a locking mechanism instead of just a magnetic closure. Cannot be opened without turnig the lock from the outside. All-in-all a great product, I would buy one again and will if I need another enclosure.

Extremely poor quality, nonsensical instructions, breaks easily
The first one of these I ordered was already cracked. It looked like someone else had already tried to build it, got mad because it cracked due to poor design, & returned it broken. Now that I see the design, I am returning the 2nd one of these I ordered because the directions do not match the item, I don't see any good way to install the latch without cracking the acrylic the same way the first victim of this product did, & there are gaps that make it not suitable for spiders & bugs. It does not work for what it claims to be designed for. Truly, the hinged door makes no sense, there's no way to quickly get in & out of the enclosure without taking the damn thing apart. It's just so impractical I truly want to hunt down whoever designed this thing & ask them what the heck they were thinking.

Perfect for young arachnids
I bought two of these, one for my vinegaroon and one for my scorpion. Both of them are fairly young and have quite a bit of growing to do, but needed an upgrade from their original 4x4x4 enclosures. There's room for enough soil to satisfy a burrowing animal like a vinegaroon, and allows for small plants and decorations. It also provides a good amount of room for them to walk around and explore, while not being so big that they'll get lost or be unable to find their food.

A solid choice for your inverts - if it arrives unbroken!
The first one I ordered - shipped in manufacturer's packaging - arrived severely damaged, which I had to return. The second - shipped in Amazon's packaging - arrived in pristine condition. The terrarium arrives flat-packed with each panel covered in protective film. It is easy to assemble. It is functional and securely houses my invertebrates - but remember to seal the lid! It looks great on my desk and is crystal clear to look into. Note that the tabs used to hold it together stick out a bit from the main structure, which may not visually appeal to everyone.

Loving micro zilla
Although mine was broken I was offered refund or replacement, to which I explained that I love my product and my critter wont escape I worked with someone for a discount so I'm very happy with the customer service. The item its self is also amazing. Its huge but still nice and small for my invertebrate, this large size can probably even hold a small frog for its juvenile stage. The lock is secure and it has cross ventilation on the front/back. I love that it's made of plastic so not only will I not break it in a risky location but its light and can sit on a shelf of sorts. I love the hands on part of building it myself. I plan on buying more of these which is awesome because they are also stackable. And they seem pretty sturdy but I wouldnt stack then too high incase the bottom ones do collapse. 10/10 love these zilla micro habitats!

Attention Tarantula Keepers
You and I both know how hard it is to find something aesthetically pleasing, practical, effective, reasonably priced, and safe all in one. This is it. I’ve done extensive research about acrylic enclosures and where to find them in Canada. For the amount of effort it takes to find something that will keep your animal safe and happy this price is more than acceptable. Standardized acrylic boxes only work to a degree and they require a lot of DIY tools. The only work I did to this enclosure was creating a seal between the bottom and side walls using aquarium silicone. My tarantulas can be housed in these from the moment they are a tiny sling - I have no fear of their escape due to the sizing of the ventilation slits. If I rehouse a 1/2”-3/4” sling in here I would simply cover the ventilation slits with tape and use a needle to poke numerous inescapable holes. Also the set up isn’t that complicated. Get this enclosure, you won’t regret it. I have four varieties of the Microhabitats and I’ve never been disappointed.
