Wow, what a bargain for such a quality instrument. It is made of metal, has both course and fine focus, a real condensing lens in the microscope stage, adjustable lighting brightness, battery and plug in source of power. In the head it It has prism instead of a mirror, and it can be rotated 360 degrees for viewing. Has holes for adding a X-Y adjustable caliper on the stage. It has 9 prepared slides so is ready to use out of the box. The only thing I didn't was the pointer in the 16x eyepiece. It is quite large and blocks some of the field when taking pictures. I simply replaced it with a 10x eyepiece that is more to my liking. The photos show my unboxing.

Terrible. After wiping the lenses with the tissue that cane with the microscope I still cannot get rid of all of the debris seen in the attached photo. There are also cracks on the lenses that were on there when I got it. Terrible quality.

Unhappy with this product. Something was on the 10x lens and could never get it off. Must be within the actual lens.,

I would like it more if the stage moved. But for my bio111 purposes it was sufficient.

Bought for my 10 year old budding scientist. Wanted a metal, good grade microscope for my daughter to use for years, not some cheap plastic kids toy. I did the comparison among many and found this to be the best for the price. We are now looking at the earthworm cross cut at 40x magnification and are in awe! This is definitely a great purchase if you want quality for your buck.

Its a great starter kit! There's a few prepared slides with enough diversity to show the differences between each magnification and few extra slides try out for yourself. Its light and easy to use. Overall its a great product!
