Great product - lots of moss, worked pefectly
This forest moss works extremely well. Once you soak it, it bulks up way more than expected — one of the compressed disks expanded enough to fill almost four sections of my moss pole. The quantity is impressive, and the texture is perfect for keeping humidity up. Clean, soft, and great for plant projects or terrarium setups. Definitely worth it!

Good moss.
Good moss. I've tried 3 different kindsof various moss and this one was the best quality afaik. I did have to soak and rinse.

Great For Humidity
This works well, when soaked in water, keeping the humidity up in my tanks. Would recommend.

Great value for your money, just don't rush it like I did!
I'm a big fan of this plume moss! I love using it to accent my herp and invertebrate's enclosures (I currently have it as a top substrate layer in my garden snail, white's tree frog, crested gecko, and fire skink's enclosures), and a little goes a long way! I still have probably about half of it left. However, just make sure to be patient and let it hydrate all the way on its own. I'm used to smushing up and breaking down compressed cocofiber blocks so that I don't have to wait as long to add them to my enclosures, but you don't want to do that with this! Maybe it's common sense in retrospect, but by doing that with my moss, I just ended up breaking it all down into tiny little fluffy bits, when longer strands definitely would have been easier to work with, and looked prettier. Live and learn, though! I'll definitely be ordering this again to use for my pets, and it works great for giving them a nice natural 'carpet' to walk on, as well as helping to hold humidity in the lower layers of substrate.

Seems like it will work!
So I believe its called a "two pack" because each package comes with two blocks of pressed moss. The amount of moss seemed as advertised, but it depends on how much you fluff it up. The plastic tupperware holds 5L and had 1 package (2 thin blocks) and soaked up to overflow the tupperware, and with squeezing out water and fluffing it up would be closer to 10 L of moss. Also put two packages (4 blocks) into a 5 gallon bucket and it almost filled it up while not being fluffed up at all. And I had lots left over! The scent - it smells like moss, earthy, nothing bad. The moss itself was very dirty, had to rinse it a lot! Not as high quality as some orchid moss I've used but still seemed good enough. Got this moss for dahlia tuber winter storage so I'm going to see if it will work out!

Great for Hermit Crabs!
I have been using this product for my hermit crabs' moss pits. I originally switched to this product because it contained no dyes and gave the habitat a more natural look. It looks great! This moss comes dried and compressed. I only need a small portion at a time, so I just break a chunk off and store the rest. Then I let it sit in water for a few minutes before squeezing it out and placing it in the tank. This moss holds moisture very well. I spray it with water about once a week, but I could probably go much longer. Over time it seems to settle and compress, so it helps to fluff it up every once in awhile. When it starts looking dirty, you can take it out and rinse it. However, I tend to buy new moss since it's not very expensive. I have no complaints. This moss fits my use perfectly, and it's both convenient and affordable.

Perfect for my terrarium!
I love how versatile this moss is! I use a brick for my 2 40-gallon terrariums, and the other for my potted plants to hold in moisture, especially my tropical species! When using for my terrariums, I have to soak and pick through for any small stems or pieces not needed in my turtles' enclosure's. Compared to other brands and different types of sphagnum moss, this one is best, especially for the amount and price! All of the other ones I have tried have way too many stems and various scrap pieces that can be harmful to your reptiles! All moss will contain some stem and unwanted extra material, but I have never had a big issue with these. Never had any with mold, unlike many others I have seen or received! One brick soaked for 15 mins will fill up both of my 40-gallon terrariums about 2 to 3 inches. Just enough for my burrowing babies to have a nice home that is safe and sanitary! I love how it can be reused several times before discarding and getting new! A good rinse under hot water and squeezed to damp, I reuse it about three time. I like to do a deep clean about once a month, so one brick lasts all together around 4 months!

Ok but not great.
It is ok. You get what you pay for. I’m shocked that something made for plants and reptiles would have so much debris and plastic in it. At first I thought, oh it’s artifacts left over from the packaging process like a loose ribbon of plastic getting caught when it’s sealed. Nope. This has been throughout even the middle layers. It is really well compressed. And while it looks like 1 brick, it’s two skinny pieces compressed together. It took me about 2.5 gallons of water to get this rehydrated. And once I did it was easy to see how dirty it was. Just tons of sticks, leaf litter, dirt and ribbon strings of plastic. It did make a lot and you get what you pay for. But I’m not sure I will buy it again. As far as smell , it’s the smell of a damp forest floor. It’s earth. Nothing off. Just the amount of debris included could be significantly less. Worried about the mold issue others are having and hope that it doesn’t mold inside my moss cages.

Sphagnum mos

Smells like a forest and I liked it!
My room noticeably started to smell like a forest after a month of them in my plants. I really liked the ambiance it added to my room specially the scent contrary to what others claimed. It is also more manageable compared to sphagnum and more aesthetically pleasing. Some of them turned green especially the top probably due to algae growth but it doesn't look mushy like sphagnum. The only downside is the moisture retention as I need to double the frequency of how often I sprayed my sphagnum before.

Best Moss On the Market
I have been using this forest moss for over a decade. It is our go to product. There are no dyes, my senior dumpy tree frog Benny loves it and so do my gang of teenage hermit crabs. It fluffs up nicely and keeps the humidity levels up in the terrariums. I use it as a top layer over a base of coconut fibres. The smell is pleasant, and it looks really nice. It makes the terrarium look finished and natural. The past year or so I have had difficulty finding this product in store, but Amazon delivered! VERY HAPPY!
